It was only a second too late when Mivu realized that laughing so hard had been a mistake, and she intended to get revenge in the best way she knew how: the exact same thing, but better. So he had only enough time to open his mouth and let out an unmanly yelp before her weight crashed down on him and, indeed, brought him down into the water, thoroughly soaking him.
With a frown, he angrily pushed her off him and shook himself to try and rid his coat of as much water as possible. He knew she was smirking with glee and didn't even bother looking at her as he stomped out onto the ground.
"You know mother is going to have a fit when she sees us like this, right?"

The sound that Mivu made just before she struck rang in her ears when they came splashing down into the water, and she started to laugh. She had gotten him back, and she was very amused. She didn't even care when he roughly pushed her off, grinning up at him from a decidedly relaxed position laying in the water as he stomped away to dry off.
"Oh, lighten up," she said, "It's just a bit of water!"

"Yeah, well. You pushed it too far, Marini. I didn't push you at all, and you come out and tackle me? No, that crossed the line."
And he had crossed the line from being happy, 'I'll play with you for now' to his regular moody self. It seemed like anything small could flick that switch back and forth, these days. Too bad that for today, the water hole had not held much happiness for him after all.
Mivu grumbled and shook himself off some more, stomping into the ground to dry his feet. She was lucky she was lying down, because if she had been standing, he had knocked her back down and see how she liked it.

Marini just shook her head as her brother grouchily lectured her about how she had taken the game too far. Just because he was a little bit fuzzier didn't mean he had to be less fun. Unless the fuzziness required using funness to grow, which would be really sad. Ah well.
"You wanted to take a bath anyway, I just made it more fun," she argued, sticking out her tongue childishly at him, "Now you're clean, you can go away, grumpy."

Mivu turned his head to glare at her. "I'm not grumpy, dummy. And I will go away." With a huff, he turned back around to promptly ignore her, having shaken a good bit of the water out of his fur.
I hope she falls in the mud and has to take a bath all over again, he thought to himself as he did good on his word and started walking away, back towards the den. The image of her doing so made him crack a grin, though. He could just imagine the screech she'd let out when she slipped, followed by the slow-motion look of horror on her face when she fell and finally landed on the shore's mud.
Chuckling, he started trotting faster to get back home in time, not giving his sister a second glance behind him.

"Good!" she called after him as he turned away and then headed back for home. Now that he was gone again, she looked around. Still didn't seem to be many lions around here, and despite the little scene she'd just caused, she was sort of disappointed. Ah well! With a sigh, she got to her feet and walked carefully out of the water. Shaking as much of the water as she could get out of her fur, she then went to look for a nice rock to rest on. She wouldn't be going home right away, she still might meet someone who was actually fun out here.
