"I promise. You are safe with me." He wasn't going to let her get hurt, especially not on his account. "It's not that scary, Xenia, don't worry. Other cubs find it very fun actually." He said with a shrug.

“Fun?” Hear blue-tipped ears perked, tentatively smiling. “O-okay. If you think it’ll be fun….”
((Bleh, shortness. I just don't have much to say. Could stretch, but it would be kinda pointless.))

"Just hold on tightly." Sumati said once the cub was on his back. He rose up slowly and made a few tentative steps to feel how she fit on his back. "Are you comfortable up there?" He asked as his pace became more even, turning his head around as much as he could. "Do you want me to go faster?" He made a few faster steps before slowing down again.

Xenia wrapped her little arms tightly around Sumati’s neck as the cheetah trotted along. She felt like a bird! Well, maybe not a bird. Her head bounced up and downed as they picked up speed. “N-not t-to f-fast p-please!” she giggled, laughing at the funny way her voice sounded when Sumati sped up.

Sumati chuckled at her funny speech pattern and quickened his pace just a bit. "Your wish is my command!" He grinned widely even though she couldn't see his face at the moment.
It really was so strange. He had met Xenia barely a few hours ago and he already felt very attached to her. If anyone dared to even try to hurt this cheerful leopon, they would have to deal with him. Somehow, he just knew they would have a lasting friendship.
Sumati didn't notice that he had started to hum a happy little tune as he totted along. It was from a fairly common song and Xenia had probably heard it. "Do you know this song?" He asked, once again slowing to a normal pace. "We can sing it together if you do. Or I could sing it to you. Either way, it would make our trip back a bit more fun."

“No, but it’s pretty!” Xenia didn’t know many songs other than the nursery rhymes her nanny sang. The jungle had its own kind of music too, but Sumati’s song was different. She liked it a lot. “I bet I could learn it if you kept singing. I’m a really really good listener!”

Sumati started singing his song. He wasn't a great singer, but his voice was somewhat pleasant to listen to. The story the song told was of two brothers, two hybrids and their lives. It told all the adventures they had had and the hardhips they faced before finally finding a place they belonged and people who loved and accepted them. It was a wonderful story though he had no idea if it was based on some truth or not. Sumati sang softly all the way back to the nursery of the pride. When the last words rolled out of his mouth they had just arrived.
"Did you like the song?" He asked as he lowered his body so she could get off.

Xenia slid off his back onto the jungle floor, looking up at him with bright eyes. “Uh-huh! We should play again sometime.” She batted Sumati playfully on the nose when suddenly she heard her nanny calling her. She looked up, clearly disappointed, and turned back to her playmate with a sad smile.
“That’s my nanny. Bye Sumati, see you later!”
