Szin's dark thoughts came to a pause about the time the cooking herbs wafted to his place of rest. It had been a long time now since he had smelt those flavors, and it was with small curiousity that he glanced towards where Lird cooked. He seemed odd, with the blind around his eyes.

He still harbored the belief that Lird held nothing but ill will towards him. It simply was impossible for him to believe that after so much time and abuse he would randomly cross paths with one of the extremely rare drow that was actually compassionate and honest in a attempt to help another. Particularly when he was in such dire straits himself. If he were a cleric or a priest perhaps he'd have wondered if the Goddess had made a move to aid him...but down here in this black hell...he did not think the blessed moonlights shine had enough strength to reach this far.

For the brief time it took him to cook, Szin allowed Lird to continue talking. He had already told the other male he did not have to bother with any sort of ploy or deception. So it made little sense to him that he might continue to pursue his seemingly harmless conversation. Even with the apologies and such. It just...seemed off.

Perhaps he was just really that tired. He had been in the tunnel for a while now. Hunger too reminded him that he had not had any sort of proper care for his body since fleeing. So when it was that Lird would set the plate down next to him..well...

"Thank you...." He murmured softly after looking at the meat and mushrooms. He recognized the herbs. Knew their sight and scent....and it really had been so long since he had tasted their flavor... Szin fell upon the plate with no more hesitation. Unhindered by utensils, he ate with his fingers, devouring the contents with a voracious eagerness. He even licked the plate clean of the juices and spare bits of herb that was left behind. Szin's stomach growled and ached afterwards though. Eating too fast was undeniably bad for him but...when one was hungry they rarely bothered to think about such things.

"So...why are you out here?" He had to...at least try. The other had been kind enough to deserve something more then a continued silence.

It was refreshing at least to see that this strange Drow was willing to eat the food he had cooked for him. It would have been much harder to try and help him if he'd simply not eat either, as it was clear from the other Drow's behaviour that he was well tired out, and in need of sustenance.

He smiled slightly to the other drow as he ate, not convinced he could be seen despite his lighting of the fire, the corner he had chosen was still dark. The spell he had cast simply allowed his eyes to take no damage from low level, like the fire, or brief exposure like his lightning spells. It would not allow him to stay for long on the surface as the sun would quickly burn through the spells protection.

"I have an errand to run for the matron I am currently sworn to." he stated with a flippant wave as his hand and he placed a piece of meat in his mouth. "She delights in sending by brothers and I on foolish errands of little importance for we owe her our service and she has no real use of it..." he didn't sound too pleased with the arrangement. "We are useful to her, though due to our not fitting exactly with the appropriate parameters for how a drow should be I think she wants to keep real association with us to a minimum..." He was, it had to be said, far too tall... and this screamed of a heritage of blood that was less pure than it certainly should have been. "This is a route I know well as I use it to avoid settlements of Drow that I do not care to meet if I can help it..." he picked up another piece of meat before looking at Szin once more. "Have you eaten enough..? 'Anon? (flower, and I will probably type flower from now on xD) As I shall now call you... it suits I think. You look as though you do not belong in the dark after all... and a flower like you, would not survive long.. I did warn you if you did not tell me your name I would choose you something myself."

If the other was still hungry he wouldn't mind allowing him a little more o of the food that remained of his own portion. He had eaten once today already and it would not harm him to miss a meal. Yet, wandering as blind as he was due to the light of the surface, well... he couldn't really tell how long a legnth of time it had been since the other drow had been able to eat.

Szinaun listened to Lird's rambling explanation. It hardly seemed the tale of a threatening drow. Wandering tunnels...doing what? He had only said he was taking care of a errend. But he did not quite enlighten him to what that errend was. He supposed it could just be anything really. His belief that the drow that had 'rescued' him had ulterior motives remained firm in his heavy chest.

After living with surface elves his whole life, it had not struck him as odd that Lird was so tall. He was used to other elves standing over him, it was only since he had come to the Underdark that he found himself standing eye to eye with nearly all the male populance. Oh sure, the females were still taller, even the drow females back at the temple had been taller. It's just the way that they were. So, despite how apparent he was different, Szin found himself puzzling over how he was not exactly fitting. While he mentally turned over the small bits of information in his head, Szin gently pushed his empty place with one finger back and forth on the ground.

Of course... his silent museing were disturbed by the flattering and unexpected name dubbed to him by lird. Anon? Flower? Him? A flush of heat burned to Szin's cheeks and he found himself drawing the cloak up to his nose in shy embaressment. Such flattery! What sort of game was Lird playing at? The way he seemed to pick up on his alien like presence in the underdark was disturbing and Szin's green eyes shifted down to the plate before him. "Ah...you...said you did not have much. I will be fine..." Szin murmured from under the cloak. Did he suspect? Did he wonder if Szin had been attempting to reach the surface? Was this perhaps a test to see if he would admitt it?

"So...you are avoiding the other drow settlements...so...what is your destination now? Are you done with your errend?" Perhaps...if the Goddess really had caused their paths to cross...Lird would be going close to the surface. In which case it really would be wiser for him to remain with the other drow. Providing he wasn't going to kill him or something equally horrible..."

"It is fine." He stated with a small smile, pushing himself to his feet and moving over to the smaller drow with a good half of his own portion of food still remaining in the container. He removed the plate he'd used previously, and pressed the pan straight into the other drow's hands. It wasn't hot any longer. "I can go without for now. It seems you need the food more than I. And while it's true, I do not have much, it cannot hurt to give you what I do have." he shrugged slightly as he moved over to the fire, adding another gnarled lump of wood to it.

"I'm still heading towards the city myself, or the edge of it. There is a book my lady, Matron G'eld would like picked up from someone she leant it to some time back that she has requested I go and retrieve. It gives me time to go into the market and pick up some further provisions for myself though, so it is not an errand I am too terribly adverse to. It is not important however, and I suspect she will not think of the book once until I place it in her hands whenever I see fit to return." He moved back to the place he had selected earlier and regained his seat there, his eyes almost glowing with their red hue in the light of the fire.

"I have time, you see, to rest here with you and make sure you are recovered for a time. You strike me as strange, somehow, but I can't place it, I confess. It doesn't bother me though. My family is nothing if not used to strange, and the family I work for almost equally so." he lifted his shoulders in a slight shrug. "I am honestly simply pleased that you seem to have settled enough to speak, Anon, I suppose that would be why the name fits however... then again, thunder and lightening has about as much place her usually as a flower, but we all make our way, do we not..?" He smiled again. "I will have to continue my errand but, and please be utterly honest now... you have confessed to being light blind... I would be right in thinking you are quite lost in the dark here... you do not seem to be from the west... you have wandered a long way. Would you allow me to assist you at all in finding your way home once more...?" He supposed it likely that prolonged exposure on the surface could easily have addled Anon's senses. He may not even recall where he was from. He couldn't just let him remain lost in the dark...

Lird was filling the air with a lot of chatter. Was it nervouseness that prompted him to speak so much? Filling the void of the cave with his words so that the uneasy silence would not creep up on them? He was saying an awful lot about himself. Was he really telling the truth? Or was he spinning a tale, something to make Szin feel more at ease before he...he.. what? What was he going to do? It wasn't like anything could really stop him. Szin looked down at the pan when it was placed into his hands. The part of him that protested that he should not, that he should make a token effort to return the food to the other drow was overcome quickly by the part of him that grumbled in his stomach.

This time though Szin was able to eat a bit less ravenousely. The small amount of food in his belly had satisfied most of the pain in his belly. This bit he could actually take his time to chew and enjoy the flavors he had long since given up on tasteing again. While he chewed he listened of course. The errend that Lird was on seemed simple enough, but it also seemed... "It...sounds shameful." He murmured after swallowing. "To be so...overlooked and taken for granted for. If you have skills worthy of employ then you should not have your talents wasted. It's a insult."

Szin fell silent afterwards, his green eyes switched from peering across the cave to where Lird sat and to the floor. Knowing that Lird had no pressing busniess made Szin feel...a bit relaxed. If Lird did not have anywhere to be right now, that would mean he would not insist on taking Szin with him. He could continue to avoid the cities until he recovered..and perhaps think of a way to get to the surface. They had to be close. He desperatly wished to think that. Perhaps if he had been feeling stronger he'd have used his magic to summon some air elementals to scour the caves for a exit to the world above. But right now he felt lucky enough to properly weild his battle fans.

It was Lirds museing on how strange he seemed that unsettled him. Did drow of the underdark have some sort of extra sensory perception that allowed them to finger out other drow that somehow were abnormal in their world? Szin set the pan down on the stone and slunk a bit further into the cloak wrapped about him. He could lie. Fabricate some sort of story. But he wasn't certain what detail would support the story and what would scream outwardly 'Lie'. "Maybe...maybe...it's just strange to...find someone out here when you were expecting to be alone?" He could suggest something like that at least. It was not a lie if he tried to find excuses to explain why he might feel unsettled. Right?

"I.." What should he say? Each time he called him Anon, Szin fearfully began to sweat that perhaps he was still flaunting the fact he knew something. "How did you...come by your training? I would not think lightning would be a common magical skill for someone who's never seen real lightning before." He wanted to redirect the conversation away from him. He did not want to answer the questions being asked of him by Lird. What should he say? Home? He was offering to help him get home..but home was on the surface. A small village somewhere up there...he had no idea where at all he was. West? That was...Goddess he was from the east! Could he really be near the other side of the world!? If so then reaching the surface would do him no good!

"I...I don't...remember..." He stammered in a pinched voice. He felt like the words were choking him.

"Never mind that." Lird stated with a dismissive wave of his hand at the query about his magical abilities. "I had some simple training. I learned the gifts.. that's all there is to it." with a small pause he let his eyes fix up on the ceiling of the cave. He'd learnt his abilities many years ago. It had been an associate of his brother's who had finally helped him to learn. His gift had naturally been in the use of electricity of which there had been little to no knowledge around in his family.

He had gone untrained for quite some time and had ended up focussing his abilities more on physical combat. He was tall, he was strong and he could fight... but Felyn'na had come into their lives some time ago and had changed everything for him. Fel had left the Underdark some years ago, and he knew of the surface... he knew a drow who's gift had been the weather, thunder and lightening, wind, rain and sun... and he felt that maybe, just maybe Lird would benefit from his tuition. He'd put the idea to Lird and Lird himself had accepted. A year later, a year spent making trips to the surface working blind against the light for a few days and then stealing his way back down again he was able to use his gifts like he had never thought he would be able to.

Anon's response was a blessing however. "You don't don't remember where you're from, huh?" He asked with a sympathetic smile on his lips. "I am not surprised.. it is not uncommon for exposure to light to addle the minds of people who have been lost in it for any length of time." He smiled slightly. "If you rest for a time things may start coming back to you.. but if not, well... that does make things a little more complicated, doesn't it..?" he paused for a moment looking thoughtful... "I will have to complete my errand at some point... Anon, will you be content to wait here while I do so...? I will head off after some rest here, and then return... I will bring some food back with me, if you will agree to wait here..?" He wasn't sure Anon would agree to wait however...

"I can quite understand if you wish to try to make your own way... but please heed the warning that the world out there is unkind to those who are struggling... I don't yet know what to suggest for you to do afterwards... but another meal could not go amiss, right..? Unless I am too bad a cook..?" He smiled slightly once again.

With Lird dismissing his qestion on how he came to be trained, it gave Szin no inclination about how this drows atitude may differ from all the others he had come across. Beside that, Szin was greatly distracted with his predictament. Oh sure, he had escaped his...wife? Owner? mistress? He did not feel comfortable thinking of her in any aspect. He may not be subject to her cruel whims now, but he was in just as bad a spot. Lost in a bunch of horrible claustrophobic tunnels. Monsters everywhere around him. Save for Lird's appearance everything he had been through was a terror until now.

He tried to focus on what Lird was saying. To keep himself from spiraling down into a undesierable pit of despair. But when he spoke of the surface Szin could barely keep the tears out of his eyes. Lifting his palms he pressed them firmly to the green orbs. He prayed that his outward distress would be taken for the fact that he had admitted to being lost. He doubted Lird would be able to understand his true distress. He spoke as if the surface was a horrible place, when in truth this dark place was the true horror! He wanted to go home! He wanted to see the light again! He wasn't dazzled or light dazed or addled in anyway. He was being crushed by the darkness. It was squeezeing out his life. The rock above him was crushing his very breath from him!

"No I... I have no clue. I don't even know where I am."

Szin hardly even realized that he was working himself up into a panic. His breath came rapid as his heart sped up. Only when he realized that the spots he was seeing behind his closed eyelids was not from his palms pressing against them that he became aware enough to try and slow his breathing down. Lird was asking him if he would wait. Stay here? While he went off? What? Perhaps he was going to go and check in the nearest city about him... who cared? He wasn't going to escape. Even if he did find the female that owned him and brought her here Szin would hardly be in the position to even try and escape.

"Sure. I...will wait. I do not have anywhere to go." Free meal aside, Szin desperatly wanted to just lay down and sleep. Maybe forget the fear and sadness for a time.

“You’re in the west dark” Lird replied quietly. He was actually slightly saddened to see this poor young male so affected by the affliction that seemed to have claimed his memories and orientation. He had no idea where he was, and that was a terrible way to be… he had himself once found himself at the wrong end of one of his brothers befuddling enchantments… that had been wonderful fun he was sure… but not the type he’d like to repeat, well, ever if he could get away with it. Not knowing where you were or where you were going was a horrendous feeling.

“The main city is not far from here, maybe two hours or so at a steady walk, I should not need to remain there for more than an hour further if things go as I hope they will, though of course there are always complications in these matters… no one will ever admit to having a possession they do not wish to give up, even if the possession was not truly theirs to begin with. It really is a sad state of affairs…” he shrugged his shoulders lightly, lifting his fingers, his eyes focussed on them as a small shimmer of bright blue electricity danced between the tips… he’d always thought his gift beautiful, the first night he’d spent on the surface so many years ago now, the male who had become his mentor had summoned a storm… he was strong, stronger than Lird ever thought he had a hope of being, and it had simply taken his breath away. He’d known then and there that that as a gift he wanted to possess if it was in any way possible… luckily for him he’d proved adept at the weather magic. Though he was sure his ‘unnatural’ gift had not helped the credibility of his house, and was in fact partially to blame for the raw scar that adorned his chest.

“I will try to return to you before too long… I know I would not like to be left alone without sight or orientation, though it may allow you some time to rest. I don’t believe this cavern is widely used by many, thing’s which I leave in here tend to be here still when I return, so that is a fair sign that it’s mostly unknown.” The tall drow leant back for a moment, simply resting his head against the wall. He shouldn’t be involving himself with this other male… it was a mistake, simple as that. His house was defeated, crushed to little or nothing and the tiny remains all working for a different family… he should be bringing anyone else into this struggle, and he certainly shouldn’t be offering his assistance in this manner… Anon, as he’d called him was far too secretive… quiet… there was the obvious option that he was simply lying with each word he spoke. That he was someone come to try and crush what remained of their ‘traitorous’ house… why then, did he believe him already…?

‘You trust him because you wish to. You like his looks…’ his mind helpfully supplied in what Lird could only imagine was a dryly amused tone as he, panicked, tried to quell that thought… oh that would be all he needed right now, a foolish attraction to a male. It was nonsense, of course it was. He’d never found a male attractive in his life, and frankly the thought of it at all made him feel more than a little unwell… he definitely wanted nothing to do with that sort of thing…

So why then did he find his eyes lingering on Anon once again…? Why was he thinking that those unusual eyes might actually be rather… appealing? No. No they weren’t. They were unnatural. The whole thing was unnatural and by Lloth he should get going before whatever unnatural bewitchment had stolen Anon’s senses from him stole Lird’s away as well.

He pushed himself up to his feet in a slightly sudden motion. He’d not meant it to be quite that dramatic, but his thoughts had spurred him on into deciding that action here was utterly necessary… he needed to keep moving and clear his thoughts once again. It wasn’t like the weird thoughts he’d been having were anything to really worry about anyway… it had just been a while since he’d had a woman, that was all it was… he’d have to make a point of visiting a couple of the friends he still had… sometime… maybe. Yeah.

“I will go now.” He stated after a couple of minutes of silence and seeming contemplation. “I hope you will be okay here… as I said before. I shall not be long…” with an unlikely ease he reached down, grabbed his back and swung it onto his back once more, lifting a hand in a wave as he strode out of the cavern within the dark tunnels and back out into the dark. The best thing about the spell he had learned to put on his eyes was that the brightness of the light never affected his dark sight. He could step from one to the other with fairly simple ease.

The main city was only two hours away!? Szin's green eyes had begun to droop closed slightly. But at hearing this news they shot open. So close! He'd been wandering for days and..he was still that close! He doubted that it could be any other city save -that- one. There was no way he crossed enough distance to be near to another city worthy of mentioning. A outpost maybe but... Oh Goddess!

Without thinking Szin pressed his plams to his face. Such a wave of anguish struck him. It was like no matter how hard he had tried he simply could not put enough distance between him and her. Such thinking also made it hard for him to take note of what Lird was saying. With a force of will, that was fast faltering on him, Szin pushed his hands down to his knees. His green eyes fixed on Lird and he really did try his best to try and adopt the concealing mask most drow down here seemed to have as a automatic facial expression. He doubted he was anywhere half as good as concealing his facial expression. After living with humans and dwarves he had taken for granted that elves truely could read other elves.

Was he going to look into him? See if someone was looking for a drow like him? In all of his time being dragged about in the underdark, Szin had only seen two other drow with eyes that were not the color red. None that he had seen with green like his..and none with the color of lavender for hair. he was as easy to pick out of a crowd as his father would be down here. It sickened him to think that Lird could return with his mistress in tow, or some hired guards with chains to drag him back. He'd sooner bite off his own tongue at this point. He was nigh well desperate enough to get away from her!

Szin managed to nod his head faintly, and he twisted himself a little so he could unshoulder the deflated backpack from his shoulders. "I...I will be fine here Lird. I am not completely defenseless. I'm not faint from hunger, and my strength will return enough I am sure..." Enough to dissuade the other from selling him out? No..he supposed not. Perhaps he should make certain to leave out his magical skills? Yes...as soon as Lird was gone he'd summon some elementals to watch over him while he rested... In the mean time...

Szin's hand had slipped into the back pack, and his fingers closed upon the handles of his battle fans. Drawing them out, he carefully placed one on the floor beside him in it's folded position, and he pressed the second one under the covers against his belly. Shifting a little to make himself more comfortable in his spot. Szin swept his hand through his hair, brushing it to one side as he peered across to where Lird stood. He was leaving now...ought he say good bye? He did not know Lird at all. So why would he wish him well? Still..

"Lird...thank you..." He could not wish him well yet. He could not bring himself to peer up at the man that he still felt was going to somehow betray him...but he could be thankful thus far for what had been done for him. He was grateful for the food..and the period of slightly safer rest... Szin laid himself down and closed his eyes. With his arms crossed over his chest, and his battle fan clutched tight, he focused on listening. He'd wait for Lird to leave, then summon a pair of elementals to watch for him....

It had taken a good deal longer for Lird to complete the task that he had been set than he'd thought it would. He'd known that getting the book back wouldn't be easy. It was a trivial matter at best and anyone asked to return an item would almost invariably reply with 'I'm really busy, I'll sort it out for Matron G'eld next time I see her' but as this was dubbed important, he sort of had to make sure that they did it right away... which had led to a good deal of arguing.

Words were not the battle mages strongest point really... it wasn't that he was dense, it was just that he lacked a lot of the eloquence that his matron prided herself on, and tended to be a little more too the point, which meant that situations where people just downright ignored him usually darkened his mood a few shades... and as he started to head back towards the cavern he was thinking with some irritation over the fact he'd said he'd go back at all. It would have been so much easier to take a room in the city... so much easier indeed... but though it hadn't been a promise by any stretch, he'd given his word to the light blinded stranger that he'd go back, and it was hardly fair to leave the semi sightless drow alone in the dark... he couldn't justify that at all, no matter how tired he was.

The book was fairly heavy, though not a patch on the other provisions he'd stopped off in the market to purchase. He had enough food with him to last a while, preservations spells were cast on some of the items as well, he liked to buy more than he immediately needed and keep some good for later. The spells were not his own doing of course, but a small amount extra ad procured him the services of one who knew who to make them work... it was worth it in the long run.

The walk back felt even long than it had on the way down to the city as he trudged his was back to the cavern, and as he stepped inside he was busily thinking for the hundredth time that staying in the city was a good plan.. "I've returned." he stated as he stepped into the slightly lightened room, the glowing embers from the fire still bouncing light off of the walls. "I hope you actually got some rest..." he flicked his eyes around the room as he slung his now clearly very full pack down, looking for 'Anon'. He was pretty certain he'd not have left...

All thoughts of how pretty his latest aquaintance had been had been pushed out of his head just now in the face of the possibly pointless trip he'd just made. He'd feel very foolish indeed if it turned out that the other male had left... he wasn't sure honestly if he still wanted to be there or not..

He figured a part of him did..

Maybe...

Hmm...

He had meant to lay still and regain a bit more of his strength. Only for a little bit. Then he had intended to rise and summon some watchment so he could sleep safely. Watch elementals actually. That could warn him if Lird returned with guards.

This never came to be. Once silence claimed the room, the comforting gentle glow of the fire, it's crisp crackling sound and the familar wood smoke scent caused Szinaun to fall into a terrible deep and exhausted sleep. The hours ticked by. His sleep was dreamless. A dark black blanket of deperatly needed rest.

Thus he would be when Lird returned, though it would be likely he would be missed at first. With the dieing of the embers Szin would have flopped about uneasily upon the ground, the lack of light disturbing his sleeping senses. The cloak would lay across him mostly still, but his limbs would be thrown akimbo. Sprawled like a bear carpet on his back, his head to one side and his battle fan clutched limply in a hand. His lips were parted, so deep was his sleep that his jaw had slackened.

For a few moments he continued to lay in his state of rest. So comfortable..so calm...but the sense of movement within the room would be enough to rose him. Causeing him to stirr uneasily. With a sofe and distressed whimper his green eyes would flutter. His sleep hazed brain fought him for every waking moment of clarity. He wanted to sleep more. His body ached for rest!
PostPosted: Wed Mar 11, 2009 8:05 pm

"Or you could keep sleeping.." the storm mage muttered with a very slightly chuckle as his eyes rested, for a little longer than he felt truly comfortable with in all honesty.. on the sleeping male. It had taken him a moment to pick out the other drow in the now darkened room and under the heavy cloak he'd left wit him, but when his eyes did pick him out, they were rewarded for their effort. He was a pretty one that was for sure... more so now with the relaxed veil of sleep holding him steady than he had been before, besieged with panic...

The gentle curve of his jaw was actually pleasing to the eye... his slender form was noticeable where the cloak was clinging to it, and for a moment he thought about pushing it aside to gain a better look once more... but pushed that thought away with a sudden flick of his hand to accompany it... what kind of thoughts were these?!

This wasn't him. He didn't look this way at other males... ugh. Then why at this moment were those slightly parted lips so tempting..? They looked soft, like the petals of the flower he'd chosen to name him... he could be at Anon's side in a moment, it would take no effort.. oh he was sure they'd feel delightfully soft pressed under his own... he could steal a kiss, hold him close, ease the lips apart and claim the mouth that spoke so sweetly...that was all he'd need... well maybe- No! By Lloth what was wrong with him!? This was a male! And a stranger no less! By the Goddess he needed to quell these thoughts!

They were twisted!

"I have food!" He stated those words a little louder than he meant to, he had to wake the sleeping male up. He himself needed to rest.. that was clear, if he wasn't tired these thoughts of pure insanity would not be clouding his mind. Once again he justified to himself that it had been a while since he had had the companny of any of the women he knew, and that that would have to be something he would change as soon as he could... he needed to do something to quell his own apparent rising madness...

Maybe he really should have stayed in the city...

All was a pity now that he had wakened. In sleep he had escaped the fear and the paranoia. He had, for a time, been freed of the haunting memories and the dread weight of fear. In sleep he had indeed looked peaceful. Yet as clarity came back to his green eyes, so too did the shadows of a unspoken weight. He did not want to wake up. he wanted to go back to sleep. Even if it meant death, he wanted that escape from reality.

But it would not come. Now that he was awake and aware, there was no way for him to fall back to sleep. He sat up, the cloak falling from his torso to pool at his waist as he wiped at his eyes slowly. When he finished with one eye, he turned it to look at Lird...then he glanced in a manner he hoped was not so noticeable at the enternace of the cave. Alone? He had come alone? had he not asked about him? Truely? Or...was he waiting to carry him back himself?

"Did you...get the book you were meant to collect?" He had to say something. Anything to keep the silence from drawing on. He was feeling much better then he had when Lird had first found him. Which made it all the more obvious to him how utterly unhappy he really felt.

"I have it here." Lird stated as he nudged a foot against his pack. "I stopped at the market as well.. I needed to pick up some things to take home, I'm sorry I was gone so long however... things took a great deal more time than I thought they would to actually sort out." Arguing with slightly drunken males... just what he'd wanted to do. "You seem to have had some rest however, that's a good thing. I was worried you'd been too uneasy to sleep." He had been, it was true... it wasn't always easy to rest yourself in the long winding tunnels this far out.

Anon looked uneasy again, it didn't take a genius to notice that, all the peace had gone from his features which still looked beautifully soft, it was true, but worried now, uneasy... who could blame him though. He could probably hardly see... once again murmuring the protection spell for his eyes, Lird leant down to re kindle the fire which was now all but gone. "You'll see again soon..." he stated, mistaking for the moment the real root of the others unease. "I have some flat bread and some salted meat in the pack of you're hungry." he added. "Don't worry about asking for anything you need.. there's a flask of water as well..." his attention was on the fire for the moment... though his mind was still wandering over the image of the other male sleeping, no matter how he might try to chase it from his mind...

The sound of his voice, filling the small cave...it set him at more ease then he imagined possible. Perhaps the tense silence made him feel like he was on pins and needles waiting for whatever was coming to happen. However, with that soft voice speaking he felt no tenseness over the pending minutes.

Szin pulled his gaze from the tunnel enterance at the comment in consideration to his slumber. "The fire helped immensely. I can't remember the last time I slept near one and it was like a old companion from my travels come to visit..." Szin's words felt strangely tight in his throat. There were other old companions that would have come with the campfire. A dwarf and a pair of humans. Another elf, one not so evil in the heart as he had learned exsisted below. Good companions..good men that he felt a dull stabbing ache in his chest for.

He placed a hand over the tight feeling and shifted himself out from under the cloak complete. The fire was being relit, or rekindled really, and he gazed at the comforting embers as he crossed his legs indian style under him. Szin momentarily thought that Lird was refering to him being able to see again once the fire was relit, and he merely nodded his head slightly. The mention of food though...his hand slipped from his chest to his belly. it had to have been a while since he had devoured the meal provided for him to feel hungry again..so..

"I would be very grateful for something more to eat...a bit of the bread should be filling enough. I do not want to be a burden on your supplies." Szin softly replied. it was easier to speak to the male with less fear after not being betrayed or bound while he slept. At mention of the water Szin's hand raised to his hair and cluched it. In the light he could see that his hair had a grey cast to it, covering the pale lavender hue he had been intensely proud of on the surface.

"I would be most grateful if there was a way for me to wash. I doubt your flash holds enough water, do you know of some place nereby where water gathers and I might be able to use it?"
