"Of course," he murmured, his expression suddenly gaining a smirk, but one altogether different than the proceeding. It was masked by intense sarcasm, false courtesy that was so smoothly hinted beneath his smile; his eyes closed ever so slightly as to further his modest face. The sleek brush of their shoulders was an invitation, an invitation to the game they were already engaged in, and Aguta was obliged to continue. Without further thought the male strode back up beside her, passing her as she had done just seconds before, immediately taking his place as head down the little path he was following. He had been listening to her continuation before he padded up to meet her. She made a grand point, after all, with a pack the size of Reign of Terror, surely there was someone -if not many- who could perform the same task as he and the rest of his little band (who were short in members to begin with, and even fewer willing to take lives for commission). Regardless, this was all Aguta had to offer. His territory was already small and offering any amount of land as so called tribute would prove further troublesome as any land he offered had the potential to harbor a hidden tunnel, a cave that could possible lead through the rest of the territory and give Reign of Terror exactly the advantage they needed to completely consume all of Tomkin.
"A mockery?" he muttered suddenly, looking her in the eyes as he took a few casual steps forward, his expression hardly concerned. "Perhaps, but any member of Reign of Terror ridding away with your obstacles will make it known it was their doing. In turn you are warranting attention not necessarily wanted. Sure, I understand the importance of wanting your pack well known, the power and the strength you hold is formidable and you need this understood through the masses in order to control them." He paused, not entirely sure if expressing his opinion would gain anything with the female, but he spoke all the same. "The more attention you gain the more those who oppose your ideas will join forces. Reign of Terror may find themselves with a myriad of enemies, vast and an issue I'm sure you'd rather avoid. Though I'm certain you have a plan for any such rebellion. Regardless, having a plan for any such scenario doesn't ensure victory. What I can offer you is a way to get rid of any such obstacles without the attention attached...or, if Reign of Terror does find themselves with an enemy, our services will be available so long as my already stated bargain is granted.
"If you would, you can inform your alpha of my request. I would appreciate his reply, regardless of the outcome of his decision."
If a war was nipping at their heels Tomkin would offer itself if it ensured safety...a future for the whole of the pack. Neutrality was impossible and believing anyone fully neutral saved from the hell of war was a statement of ignorance.

Moghedien glided with cool grace across the rock sewn landscape, her eyes fixed ahead, already planning her route her paws would follow, her head never once bowing in admittance of the less than easy trek. Though it did not take much of her attention to plan her route, thus she was still free to continue the mental sparring match with the male.
She dipped her nose in acknowledgement of his request and granted it, 'I will lay your proposal at my alpha paws, what he chooses to do from there on out his up to him, as with all things. So you will offer your services as long as your pack is free from harassment from the Reign, though also you must remember the contract would be broken should you anger the Reign in any form.' She cast a meaningful glance in his direction, he walked slightly ahead of her, but not doubt he'd catch those icy orbs focusing in on him.
With the tribute established she turned her attentions back unto the first reason to which she had been sent here, the runaway. Moghedien was not a creature of battles, she was not physically built to handle such things nor one to physically torture others, though she was capable of watching such things. Once a gentle and loving female, circumstances had turned her into the icy diplomat she was today. Finding and hunting down the runaway only served her by heightening her position within the court, she did not think of the female as anything else but a stepping stone to higher favour within her pack.

Her comment however was not what he wanted to hear but for the moment he didn't address it. Aguta padded forward, hardly looking to his side as they glided through the stones, swiveling through the great monoliths until the alpha noticed the size dwindling down. They would soon reach the river in which there he needed to make his decision. When he and Selene had first crossed this territory they had doubled back, using the river as their scapegoat, but then splintered off toward the dens. Now was the point he needed to convince Moghedien of Selene's turning south to exit out of the territory and into another.
"I will offer my services so long as there is no harassment from Reign of Terror, including if we offend your pack in some matter or another. If your alpha does not accept this proposal then any such deal will have to be further discussed," he finally told her, his eyes turning sideways to catch her stare. It seemed like a foolish hope, but one Aguta was willing to bargain for.

The smell of water filled her nostrils and her mind began to reel with the possibilities. Could the female of passed this way as the male alpha seemed to think or could she have been smuggled back into the pack lands further down the river. Other possibilities being that she hadn't of even come this way, that the wolf he was talking about wasn't even the run away she was hunting and just a lone wolf passing through, perhaps the female herself had fooled the alpha and doubled back into his pack lands. The last though she did not think possible, something told her he'd not be fooled that easily.
She had been away from her own pack lands for a few days now, she wondered if her alpha would be wondering where she was. She wanted to explore this area further, to see where the river ran and came from and perhaps giving rise as to a possible explanation as to where the this wolf went. But perhaps that was answer enough for now, to return with the alpha's offer of his packs service and her own advice that this should be followed up. Perhaps by the wolf Valdis, someone more trained for this sort of job. She herself was a diplomat, not a tracker/hunter.
All the time these thoughts swam at the back of her mind, planning, calculating. The male reinforced the fact that he would not agree to this if her pack did not promise to leave his in peace if he or his pack did anything to jeopardise the peace. Again a suspicion arose and did not settle back down again, why was he so adamant on this part? She knew this offer would be declined, in was unreasonable on his behalf, what would they really gain from such an agreement? But still it was better than nothing and she had not been sent here to gain tribute anyway, hopefully her sign of intuition would be graced with some form of acknowledgement.
So, this meeting was soon to some to a close and she would return to her alpha with the Tomkin's alpha's offer and her insight to the sitution. But now she just wanted to see how the male would draw this meeting to a close and what he'd do to convince her of his innocence in regards to the run away.

For some time they traveled along the edge of the river, weaving down its curves across stone and boulder until even the landscape seemed to be melting away, leaving fewer ridged spines jutting from the ground; even the trees, though still thick and plentiful, somewhat thinner. On occasion Aguta would sample the ground, searching for the direct point at which he was certain the subject of Moghedien's suspicion would dwindle away, disappear into the river itself and leave them unable to continue further. Aguta needed this to happen quickly, wanting the Lady of Reign of Terror to finally decide there was no longer a reason for her presence. Not that her leaving would save Tomkin. Quite the contrary, upon her return to her own territory, he was certain she would reveal every bit of information she might have gathered this evening directly to her alpha, and depending upon Chernabog's behavior, could turn Tomkin's current stale setting to a molten state of destruction.
Finally he paws, coming to the edge of the river only to stare at its surface and the figure of the silver female mirrored beside his own reflection. "This is as far as I can take you. I can assure you the female you are searching for went into the river at some point and continued downstream. I have not found an exit point, so it is safe to assume she either continued with it until she managed to get out somewhere outside of Tomkin, or drowned. Whatever the case, continuing with Tomkin now would be a waste of your time." His eyes pulled up to look back at Mog, waiting to see her reaction.

Moghedien came to the edge of the river bank, standing next to the male whom had been her guide and stared down at the water and across to the bank on the other side. His story and reasoning seem plausible but something played upon her mind, perhaps a bit of intuition but she did not believe him. All she could do however was report back to her alpha with all they had discussed today and also of her concerns, what he did thereafter was up to him.
She pulled back from the waters edge and looked up at the male, 'You have yet to tell me your name?' she questioned him.

He said nothing, did nothing but observe, and waited for her reaction as he silently stared at the river, his eyes following along the silver female. There was nothing left for him to do but to monitor the situation. If she were to leave then he would see her out. Even if she wanted to further investigate, the male had every intention of cutting her visit to Tomkin soon, and sending her out of his borders. Moghedien was a beautiful interruption, but her swift mind was a threat worth investing time in.
Aguta caught her question and immediately he answered, "Wraith," not feeling the need to be cautious for some prolonged time. A simple answer was all she was asking.

Moghedein took one last look at the river and then as she turned she caught Wraith’s eyes one last time before turning her back on him. Perhaps a silly move to turn her back on a wolf she barely knew and was on his territory but she trusted her judgment and she knew he would not attack her. She simply said in reply over her shoulder, ‘Moghedein.’ She glided like mist over the terrain as she headed out of the territory, she felt Wraith’s eyes on her as she left and she knew she’d feel them until she left his territory truly, following her out and making sure she did roam freely.
