The reiteration only made the girl more nervous, the blush on her face flaring, making the purplish mask across her face turn an odd reddish colour. She smiled a bit, biting her lip to keep from doing so as her gaze dropped once more and she pulled the little wrapped straw off the side of the soymilk box, unwrapping it, and pulling it until it clicked to its full length, before she stuck it into the the drink's box, itself.
She nodded a couple times at the second question, before looking up at the third and giving a bit of a smile. Honestly, it was even more awkward to talk about this with 'Zuba than it had been with the boys that she'd met or seen again since then, especially given the fact that she'd liked 'Zuba for quite a while. The blush started fading a bit, and she chuckled at the 'complications' bit.
"Nothing that unusual. I wasn't supposed to be throwing up originally, though; that's what Vampy said, at least. My dad lets me eat meat now, though, 'cause the baby's part demon, so it supposed to have more red meat and stuff," she commented, avoiding mentioning the fact that she was sometimes forced to eat raw meat when she craved... the flesh of things that normal people didn't normally eat. She smiled softly and took the cheese out of the microwave, uncapping it and setting the little jar down before looking around for a large bowl and a smaller one for the chips and salsa.
"'Guess we're kinda lucky 'cause we don't have to have morning sickness. Like, we meaning the spawns," she said with a smile, opening up the chips and pouring them into a decent sized bowl, pouring the salsa into a small glass bowl before she went about putting the rest of the stuff away for now. "I'd say the only 'complication' is that now I can't do stuff all the time and need to rest or sleep a lot more." She chuckled at that a bit; that wasn't something that most would complain about, was it?

'Zuba blinked, a look of confusion spreading over her face for the briefest of moments. Why was Adhi blushing? Had she said something wrong? Ugh, she probably did. She looked down to the ground, and was about to apologize until Adhara answered her question. 'Zuba nodded, listening. "Not allowed to eat meat before?" she asked, curious. Why on Gaia would someone not be allowed to eat meat? The idea seemed more than a bit foreign to the girl. She then offered a smile, nodding. "Guess we are." she agreed, even if she didn't know about the dreaded symptom known as morning sickness. She shifted slightly, leaning against the counter. She nodded. "'S bad....sorry to hear." She said, looking up to offer her friend a small smile. It must be horrible, having to slow down...it seemed so boring. She nabbed one of the chips, smiling slightly as she nibbled on it, her free hand toying with the box of soymilk.

Adhara laughed softly at the rhetorical question; a lot of people seemed to be confused when she made note of that. After all, there weren't exactly a lot of vegetarians in... well, anywhere, she assumed. Especially, it seemed, within the spawn families. No one understood the idea of vegetarianism. Ah, well; it wasn't as though it was really all that important. Just her father and his crazy lifestyles, after all.
"Yeah, but that's my dad and his crazy health food nonsense," she commented with a bit of a shrug, eating a chip herself after covering it in salsa. "When I first came to live here, we ate only vegetables and fruits and stuff; never had any meat at all. Since I grew, though, he's been a lot more lax about it, 'cause he trusts that I'm not going to go around eating things that are too terrible for me."
Adhara gave a smile, sipping at her soymilk as Reena stretched out toward her friend, spurred on by the fact that Adhara's energy levels would definitely be going back up now that she was eating food. "It's not that great, yeah. But at least I've been learning to do a lot of things that don't take too much energy, along with other things in general," she said with a bit of a smile, making the best she could out of a rather drab situation.

Marina Toriama Health food? Oh, 'Zuba had heard of that, but not much. At their house, pretty much anything went as far as food goes. A lot of it was home cooked, to-hell-with-nutritional-labels kind of food. Think of the food fixed at Thanksgiving, then you might get it. "Think that makes sense..." the girl said, taking a drink of her soymilk. It seemed to be a parent's job: worry about your kids. Okay, most parents, but still. "Good that he trusts you now. Mother still acts like I'm a kid." The last comment was accented with an overly-dramatic eyeroll. 'Zuba smiled lightly, reaching a hand out to pat Reena gently. "That's good. Not so boring then?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. She reached out, taking another chip and nibbling on it.

Adhara giggled and stuck her tongue out at her friend in a semi-teasing manner. "Yeah, but he's just barely trusting me with eating my own choice of food. And after... well, what happened, I have a strange feeling that it'll take a while for him to trust me again," she stated with a bit of a sigh, petting Reena a little bit, though the tentacle did no more than rest on her belly placidly. Though it was their fault, she didn't so much blame them as take the blame herself. After all, had she not been so stupid as to crawl through his window...
"Oh! That reminds me," she said, smacking her fist into her palm in realization. She took 'Zuba's hand, ignoring any flush that may have willed its way onto her face, and tugged the other girl up the stairs to her room, though they would probably be returning to the kitchen very soon. She dug through a few scattered-yet-folded piles of clothing, as well as some empty lotion bottles that her brother had asked her to clean, before she finally pulled out a greenish-teal knit scarf, and then a pretty matching dress that was striped diagonally with the same teal and a deep, bright yellow.
"Tada~" she said excitedly, holding them out toward her friend, obviously ecstatic about her newly-created clothing items. "I made the scarf first, not all that long ago, but I didn't have a chance to give it to you. So when I found the material that matched it really well, I decided that I would make a dress to go with it! I just... hope that I didn't make it too big or too small..." she mumbled this last bit, lifting the dress to compare it to the size of her model curiously, hoping that it would fit at least well enough. If not, she could always hem it...

'Zuba blinked, eeping in surprise as she was all but dragged upstairs to her friend's room. She watched her friend rummage through the clothing, curious as to what the other girl was up to. Her mouth made a perfect "o" as the clothes were held out to her. "Th-thank you...." she said, her face suddenly feeling warm as a pale pink tinged her cheeks. Oh, they were so pretty! How thoughtful of Adhara to have taken the time to have made them. But.... Her smile became a little sad; there was no way she deserved such nice things.

Adhara smiled brightly at her friend, rocking back and forth from heel to toe. "You're welcome," Adhara said kindly, though her face turned rather confused as 'Zuba's expression seemed to drop, not really understanding why such a thing would happen. She wracked her brain to try and find reasoning for the other girl to be upset, first going through what just happened, then what 'Zuba actually was. Right, right; her best friend was part Humility, just like her little brother. Aludra would even throw fits at times, trying to throw away all his things despite the fact that he wanted them more than just about anything, all because he was under the impression that he didn't deserve them.
Adhara gave a sad smile, before brightening up after that. "Come on, I've got an idea," she said, gesturing for 'Zuba to follow her into the upstairs bathroom, which was the larger one with the makeup and the mirrors and all the other things that she and her little brother hoarded in there. Though, it was rather obvious which side belonged to Aludra, given the fact that it was practically polluted with lotions of every scent imaginable. "Let's see..." she mumbled, pulling out the makeup stuff she'd gotten from Noah when she'd grown, though she wasn't really sure why he'd gotten it; she rarely wore it, anyway.
"We can play dress-up," she said, giggling a bit. "Though... it's not really the same without too-big dresses and sloppy makeup, but it'll be fun anyway, right?" she suggested, smiling softly, before leaving the room so that 'Zuba would be able to change without Adhara watching, and she knew that she wouldn't be trusted to keep her eyes off if she happened to stay in he same room.

'Zuba tilted her head, curious. Idea...? She followed after her friend, eyes widening at the sea of bottles. Goodness gracious; who knew there were so many different kinds of lotion? "Dress up?" This was a new concept to her, though she just nodded. She could figure the concept out herself, anyway; it was pretty obvious. "Sounds fun." she said, smiling lightly. Once her fellow spawn had left the room, she got to changing. A couple of minutes later, 'Zuba opened the door to the bathroom, a pale pink blush already coloring her cheeks. She felt exposed without her hoodie on, though hiding the bottom half of her face behind the scarf did help some. She tugged at the hem of it nervously; she knew she must look positive ridiculous in the dress. The color in her face darkened

Adhara skipped away from the room as quick as she could for the sake of getting back to her room, digging through her dresses to try and find something that would look nice despite her current... situation. Finally, she pulled out a dark purple, satiny dress. It was stretchy to a surprising degree, and when she pulled it on, it stretched taut, much like her skin, over her stomach. The ends of it were fairy-cut, reaching only about her knees, with little, silvery-blue beads on the ends that made a nice-sounding noise when she walked. The sleeves of it were ruffled up a bit, and fell partway down her shoulders, the tighter upper portion of the dress being what kept it on.
After a moment of checking herself over, she returned to the bathroom, where 'Zuba had only just emerged, smiling brightly. "Oh my gosh, 'Zuba, you're beautiful!!" she explained in surprise, temporarily seeming to forget the fact of 'Zuba's humility side. Immediately following that, she blushed brightly and covered her mouth in an 'oops!' fashion. "S-sorry, I forgot that you didn't like compliments that much," she said, blush darkening just a bit. "I was just... taken off-guard. I haven't seen you in anything that wasn't so... so simple!" she said, giggling a bit.
Adhara looked a bit closer with interest as Reena and Niita both honestly seemed to grab the air in the direction of the other preteen, groping for her to be closer without being able to touch her given the distance. "It really brings out the gold in your eyes," she commented, trying to hold back her compliments, but unable to really resist. She glanced at her tentacles and laughed a bit. "They seem to like it, too."

'Zuba's blush intensified; her, beautiful? She was shocked into speechlessness for a moment, not sure how to respond. "'S okay, Adhi." she murmured softly, shifting her weight her weight a bit. "Can....can compliment if you want. Don't mind..." This was a huge step for the spawn; there were very few people she let compliment her. And by very few, that meant two, Adhara included. She ducked her head a bit, hiding her flushed cheeks behind the scarf. She smiled lightly, chuckling a bit as she looked at the tentacles. "Thanks. I....I'm glad they like it." she said, actually forming a full sentence. "Like your dress. Looks pretty on you." She paused, looking over the dress again. "That color looks really nice on you. Beads are pretty accents, too."

Adhara smiled happily at the allowance to be able to give the slightly younger girl compliments, but she wasn't completely sure that 'Zuba would be comfortable with all the compliments that Adhara usually gave, or at least thought, as there were one too many every time, even for some of her more proud friends and family members. As such, she didn't mind keeping them quiet for the time-being. She swished back and forth in her dress at the compliment, giggling happily.
"Thank you! I'm glad you think so," she said happily, that bright smile on her face, in place as it always was.
The evening itself, past this point, seemed to go smoothly enough. By the time the two had settled down up in Adhi's room for the night, there was enough ravioli in the fridge to feed a small country, one box of it packaged up for 'Zuba and her family, one for Adhara and her's, as well as white cause and red sauce, both made from scratch, and a carrot cake the size of Manhattan that could probably feel all of Africa, the pan taking up an entire shelf in the fridge with only a few pieces taken out of it at this point in time.
Adhara was sitting on her bed, kicking her feet and giggling happily as she finished off the rest of her pasta as well as the last few meatballs that the couple had finished making. Finally, she put it to the side and sighed happily, a bright smile on her face as she glanced toward the time, eyes widening given the clock blared '1:30am' back at her, the green light reflecting off her fair face. She chuckled and pointed toward the clock. "Geez, time flies, huh?" she offered, giggling more as a result of the sleep-induced high.
She sighed and flapped her wings a bit, tipping her head as she watched her friend. "I had a lot of fun tonight, 'Zuba," she said wistfully, kicking her legs, which were currently clothed in pajamas by this time, painted toes wiggling a bit. She smiled a bit toward the other girl, and felt her face heat up as she looked away, a smile covering her face. "Hey 'Zuba, I was wondering... if I told you something kinda... strange, I guess... would you, like, promise that you wouldn't freak out?"

'Zuba smiled, chuckling. "Yeah...." she said, agreeing. Oddly enough, the girl seemed more awake now than she had before, her fingers drumming lightly on the bed. She fidgeted, drawing one knee up and hugging it to her chest as she looked at at Adhara, a small smile making it's way onto her face. "Yeah....did too. Most fun in a while." she said, nodding. She then chuckled, a wave of amusement washing over her. "Have I ever?" she asked, referring to the freaking out question. She then got serious. "Promise. What's on your mind?" She tilted her head, wondering what Adhara was thinking about that could possible make her freak out.

It was always amusing to Adhara how her diligence bordered on being contagious. Honestly, it seemed that when she was around her friends they never really got that tired, or at least didn't wear out as fast as they would have otherwise. It seemed that 'Zuba was no exception to that fact, and was just as awake as Adhara was, if not even moreso. But she blamed her own sleepiness on the parasitic unborn child that was eating away at her energy, really; otherwise, she would be as hyper as she normally was, bouncing around everywhere.
"Tell me about it," Adhara agreed, smiling happily. "It seems like forever since I spent time with someone other than my dad, doing something other than looking for baby clothes cradles or toys or ugh, he never lets me do anything on my own anymore," she whined a bit, before realizing that she was whining and shutting her mouth, blushing a bit. "Ur, sorry. Just got a little bit carried away for a second...
"A-anyways..." Adhara laughed nervously, smiling at her friend. "Nah, I guess you haven't before, but I had to make completely, absolutely sure," she said, nodding a few times. "And... I don't really know why. I guess it would be something about how my br-brother acts when, y'know, people give him compliments and st-stuff, or really l-like him at all, not to say that you're like him, of course!!" she tacked on the end defensively, eyes widening a bit, the blush on her face darkening ever-so-slightly.
"And, well, I guess, I don't really know how to put this or even why I'm saying this now, but I suppose I could blame it on the hormones, really, and I don't know how to actually tell you so I guess I'll just say it..." she mumbled to herself, Reena -typically- wrapped around her stomach in her protective manner while Niita rubbed her shoulder comfortingly, her toes curling and uncurling nervously as she gave 'Zuba a very weak, embarrassed, and all-around rather adorable smile. "'Zuba? I kinda sorta um... really... really... really like you."

"'S okay." she said, offering up a small smile. "Understand." She understood, and appreciated Adhara's caution, even it if it was unnecessary in her opinion. She fell silent, becoming almost statuesque still as the girl continued. A pink hued tinted her cheeks, darkening into a rosy red color. Of all the things her friend could have told her, that had to have been the least expected. "You......you mean "like" like?" she asked, her voice small and uncertain. Her friend couldn't possibly mean that.... Could she? No, no, of course she couldn't. No one could like her like that....they just couldn't! She wasn't pretty enough, or smart enough, or social enough.... The "enough" list starting playing through her head, reminding her of all the reasons no one could possibly "like" like her. And then there was the small tiny "what if" voice in the back of her head. What if....

Adhara let out a high-pitched, very obviously nervous giggle, burying her face in her hands as she felt her entire face heat up, turning deep, deep red. Sure, she'd been in sexual situations and awkward 'morning' afters, but she'd never actually had to confess her feelings to anyone, and somehow it was even harder than anything she'd ever done before. Even making ravioli.
The preteen wiggled over just a little bit closer to 'Zuba, so that Niita could take the moment to happily wrap around one of the split girl's wrists, snuggling into her palm happily.
"W-w-well, yeah, I gue-guess that's what I m-mean," Adhara stammered awkwardly, before closing her eyes and swallowing thickly, biting down on her lip before releasing it suddenly, recalling what happened the last time she'd accidentally split her lip. And she would have avoided doing so then, had she known the consequences, but there was honestly no part of her that would, at this time at least, want to... do something like that... something that could be either completely emotionless or more passionate than anything... with Azubahiel. It just wouldn't be... enough. And she didn't want to experience that with someone who was this... important to her? Not until she knew that they understood how important they were to her.
"Yeah... I l-like like you," she said, giggling in a childish fashion once again, smiling at the other girl as she hid behind hand that were crossed atop her stomach, also seeming as though she was trying to hide behind her belly, itself. "I... um... I didn't really plan what to say after that," she squeaked and giggled cutely again. "Really sorry if I made things awkward~"
