By now, Padma could clearly see it in her mind's eye... see Ame there next to the turtle trying to explain how flapping it's flippers would lift it into the air. Or wishing hard enough. Or pretending to be a bird. She knew that Ame would try to teach a turtle how to fly even if she didn't know the exact method he'd use to do it. She wasn't surprised. Not at all. She was only mildly surprised he hadn't tried it yet.
"Anyways..." She sighed and tried to gather her thoughts again. "Anyways, I don't know if there is any point trying to teach you more what a boyfriend is. It all has to do with love and feelings and you said that you hadn't felt anything like that, so maybe it's just pointless."
She might not be directly upset anymore, but Padma could hold onto a bad mood like no other soquili. She wasn't about to let Ame cheer her up entirely so easily. "If you do start feeling something like that you'd better tell me quick. Then maybe we can finish talking about this."

I think if Ame were to try to teach someone how to fly.. It wouldn't be as crazy as others would think. With something like this.. He would probably be more realistic.. As hard as that is to believe. He would. Instead of physically teaching someone who obviously can't fly, how to fly. He'd more so rather try to make them feel how he feels when he's flying. You know, the whole closing your eyes and imagining thing. Ame didn't fly much, but when he did, there was surely a reason.. But it was only one very rare occasions.. Some other Soq could've done way more with his wings then he already had done.. But.. He'd surely use them more.. Once a family were to emerge~ <3
Once the subject had changed, so did his mind and thoughts. They were back to the whole boyfriend conversation thing. Something he clearly couldn't understand. He just couldn't understand how feelings could change something between a person.. Or what love felt like. He just didn't know. Sure, he knew what love was.. He loved all his friends and family.. But how was that any different when it came to this boyfriend thing? He didn't know. He couldn't figure out it was based more personally and on a stronger kind of connection.. Nothing like being friends. Much stronger then that. But.. He just couldn't understand. She wanted him to tell him if he started to feel those sort of feelings.. But he couldn't.. He still didn't know.
He looked at her blank.. As if wondering into space. But his mind was all in panic. He didn't want to knowingly disappoint her again. He had already done that way to many times. And he was surely about to do it again. But what could he say to not upset her.. But be true at the same time. 'Cause, surely, almost everything that came out of his mouth frustrated her. Which he also couldn't understand. But he had to say something.
"I still don't feel anything... But that doesn't mean I don't want to.." He looked at her with a bit of confusion.. But it was all so pure.
It was true. Ame had no idea what she was talking about when it came to loving someone in a different way.. In a way that wasn't a friend or family. But it surely didn't mean he didn't like what she was saying.. That he didn't think it would be nice. His mind just wouldn't let him show it.. Without understanding. He wasn't mature enough to understand yet...

"Oooooh... We should just talk about something else, ok?" In the heat of her frustration Padma snapped at him but she regretted it almost immediately. It wasn't his fault, really. It wasn't his fault that he couldn't seem to feel for her what she felt for him. He said that he wanted to and that was a good first step, wasn't it? Could someone fall in love if they just wanted to? Was something like that even possible?
Love.
Though Padma readily admitted to herself that she liked Ame, she certainly wasn't ready to call it love. That the word had crept into her thoughts at all was disquieting to her. She didn't love him. Of course she didn't. She couldn't possibly fall in love with someone so boneheaded... so oblivious...
"It's ok. It's ok." She hurriedly tried to change her tone, tried to get her mind off of the conclusion it had been sliding towards. "You'll figure it out someday." Searching for a topic to change to, she suddenly looked around her. "There must be berries or something around here, right? Why don't we try to find some lunch?" She hoped that he would allow the conversation topic to change. She hoped both so they wouldn't have to examine his lack of feelings any more... and so that she wouldn't have to examine her steadily growing feelings as well....

There it was again.. Frustration. He could almost immediately tell she had become irritated with him again. Yet, still.. It was for no reason to him. She wanted to change the topic they were talking about.. The whole boyfriend and liking thing. Why? Was that what was making her so frustrated with him? Could it really be that? Ame didn't think so. Maybe he just thought she got annoyed with everyone, like she did him. That it was all her, and he had nothing to do with it. That, wasn't completely true.. Now was it?
But he wasn't going to keep on with the topic if she didn't want to. No need to make her more annoyed with him. He gave his wings a quick stretch, before he planted another smile on his face. He would figure things out someday.. The end might actually surprise the both of them. Or maybe everything would be so obvious.. It wouldn't surprise either of them.. Who knows!
"I'll help you find some!" He nodded, beginning to look around for some berries!
