I don't like how I have out homepage, but I'm looking to use a banner that I will soon make..... twisted I have the PERFECT IDEA!

I came across the picture totally by accident and I think everyone will love it, ore at least get a kick out of it. Simple, yet sooo amusing. I just need to create the banner....though I don't think it will be the main banner on the homepage...I like to keep with the colors in the banner, if you haven't noticed, or at least try to... sweatdrop Lately I've failed at that.

I think the Affiliates should be taken off the homepage, and put in a separate sticky in the main forum. I like how you've linked a few other important things on the front page, like the thread to report absence and the updates.

Maybe all the stuff that's linked on the homepage should be organized into a list, below join rules and stuff. Join rules should probably be the most important thing, since we need new members right now. Once we've got more members, it can be re-organized again so that current events in the guild and stuff are more important.

I was just looking at the banner, and how wide it is in relation to the page - I think it needs to be longer on each end, so maybe if we are going to make a completely new banner, it should be wider.

Also, you said that you're making a banner, but you don't want it to be the main one, right? Maybe it could go somewhere in the middle of the homepage, say, after the join rules, and then have events and links underneath that?

If I have time, would you like me to make a few more corner banners so we can have one of those ones that changes every time the page reloads? You can make those in tektek.

I think all of what you said is a great idea.

I'm going to load all the pictures I have that I want to use onto my Photobucket account. I'll edit this post with a link when I'm done. ^_^;;

I want to make big and small banners, but I love the pictures so much I don't know which ones I want to use. The one I think it funny and I'm sure every one will get a kick out of is simple....>_<

We have an Affilations sub forum, but I think that's wasted space. I'd rather have a sticky thread in the home forum for affiliations, but then we'd have an empty sub forum and I can't think of anything we could do, unless we decide to revamp all or some of the sub-forums, which I think need to be organized anyway.

Weeeeell... the extra sub could be used as an event subforum, or a dumping ground for threads that need to be deleted (which would be locked), just a general Drizzt chat forum (which would then cause the main forum to be for stickies, announcements, banners... yadda yadda yadda.

Also, I think the Forgotten Realms subforum should be changed to a Forgotten Realms/D&D subforum... or something should be done to fit D&D into a subforum, but not by itself since it's not a big part of the guild.

Well, I looked at the subforum list - I see we have:

Forgotten Realms
Contests
Charities/Quests
Fan Art/Fiction/Avi Art
Chatterbox
Sellswords
Affiliations
RPing
Retired Topics
Other Artwork
Crew Only

I just realized Forgotten Realms and Sellswords could be merged - there aren't many topics in either, and Forgotten Realms could be classified as any book under the Forgotten Realms setting, written by RA Salvatore, or even the Dragonlance novels. Perhaps to be renamed as "Forgotten Realms and other literature"?

Contests stays. Although, it could be renamed "Contests and Guild Events". Charities/Quests can also stay.

Perhaps "Fan Creations and other Creative Works" could encompass "Fan Art/Fiction/Avi Art" and "Other Artwork"?

Chatterbox can stay. Affiliations can be made into a thread. RPing stays. Retired Topics stays. Crew Only stays.

Extra subs: Maybe a "Memorable Threads" type of section? So that everything that's old doesn't have to get thrown away. And then perhaps that D&D sub, although since there could be so much room, that could theoretically get it's own sub.

Okay, so, we have 11 subforums right now. If we compressed things as I've suggested, current subforums can be squished down to 8. The other three could be the D&D and Memorable threads, and then if we decide to make the main subforum stickies/announcements/other important stuff only, the last sub could be the general Drizzt goodness subforum.

I like the picture collection, by the way. I can see where you've been going for them! Todd Lockwood is amazing~

I made another 200x40 banner just now. I'll post it up tomorrow. And then make some more.

Also, about that D&D sub - I'd be happy to organize the entire thing. I have visions already. *sparkle eyes*

This is EXACTLY why I made you VC. You think of things I haven't or couldn't!!! I love the sparkly eyes....*snicker* I really liked the bar fight with Wulfgar in it, even though I hate the character. Odd, right?

I think what you said sounds great! Even if we have empty left over sub-forums, we can close those down until we need them. ^_^

My question is which of the retired threads would be put into, if at all, the memorial threads? Go ahead with the D&D forum. Any help I can get is wonderful!

EDIT 11:50 pm Pacific Time and I just finished the Warning PMs and list in the Crew forum. ^_^

Drizzt series - Basically everything not stickied in the home forum.

What exactly would the D&D sub forum encompass? If you have a plan, then I'm happy and all ears.
We need to go through the Retired Topics and see which are Memorable, if any.
The Home Forum would just be announcements, and stickies, so the Affiliations would be a stickied thread on the home forum.

I just retyped everything you said basically just so I could understand it and hopefully not misunderstand anything.

I've been putting all the old contests in the retired thread in case we or anyone needs them or wants to look at them, though I doubt the latter.
I don't know if anyone's noticed, but I did a Tek Tek Hall of Fame in the Contests that is for any tektek related to the guild. I thought it was a good idea, but dunno if anyone else thought so.

This post will be quick, and I will post again tomorrow, but I've got to go to bed.

I haven't managed to message Keelerleah yet - or post that banner *remembers* - but hopefully I'll do it tomorrow. I was out all day doing spontaneous gift and clothes shopping which I forgot I was going to do. So yeah. I HAVE TO GET IT DONE TOMORROW. AS IN TUESDAY. YES, I AM SPEAKING IN CAPS AT MYSELF.

Ahem. Anyway. I like the tektek gallery. It's cool. And yes, we shall go through the retired threads. I think Old Contests should go in the Memorable Threads as stickies - just because current members don't seem to care, doesn't mean new ones won't. Same with the Charities and Quests subforum. As we get more people, there might actually be people who would use it. But, in each sub, we might want to have an announcement stating rules and possible uses of each sub.

That summary works. You just forgot to add "Memorable Topics", "D&D" and "Crew Only" on.

The D&D sub could basically be a place for people to learn how to play. I could create threads going through how to make characters and such, and every so often, add new stickies on certain things. It would mostly be full of stickies, until people decided to start playing or ask questions.

We should start compiling a list in the Crew sub of what might possibly be "Memorable" worthy, and just work on that until it's done.

Yeah, in the crew forum, you can create any threads you need to. Doesn't bother me.

I'll start on that thread in the Crew sub now. I feel like working on Guild stuff right now, strangely enough... when I should be doing other things. sweatdrop

EDIT - I have started it! There wasn't really a whole heck of a lot that I was sure was "memorable" - mostly contests and such. I've got them nicely linked in the thread for convenience's sake.

I absolutely love the BBCode thread I found. I was shocked when how easy the codes were. O.O

I decided to take a break today on doing anything related to the guild (sorry!!!) I'll get back into doing things Wednesday. Today was just an off day. =/

I'm going to work on something in GIMP Wednesday...I have an idea, but I don't know if it'll look nice...I need to make the Guild thread look pretty. sweatdrop and the announcement and stickied threads to look pretty too.... sweatdrop AND BANNERS DAMMIT YUKI!!!! (yelling at myself)

I'll try to remember to post that one 200x40 banner I already made. I'll put it in the banners thread, hopefully tomorrow.

And I'll check my DA today when I come home, or maybe while I'm out since I'll have my laptop with me.

OH! And I think when we go and switch around the subforums, we should do it all within a couple of days, and close down the guild temporarily. That will make it easier for us because there won't be random people doing stuff in the guild while we're doing that (since it will be the hardest part). And we should figure out what days would be best. I can say for sure right now that the weekends are less likely to be good, as is wednesday, but I'm pretty much free any other time.

My relatives are supposed to come Monday or Tuesday next week, so that won't be good time for me unless late at night. Any time is good for me ^_^


I'm looking around the guild and there are so a couple threads with people's creations of certain character with tektek. I want to create a library of sorts, of people creations....Put it as a sticky or something. o.O It seems too random for just here's a thread about Drizzt, oi and here's one for Jarlaxle. Oi etc. I mean I don't mind the whole, help me out creating something, but looking at people's creations not for the contests, it's actually interesting. Dunno. Maybe I'm looking too deep for it.

Well, separate the thread into sections. Have one post for Drizzt characters (maybe split them into main characters and non-main), and then another post for random creations people have made. Or you could split it even further, so that each main character has their own post, and then all the non-mains take up two posts.

At the bottom of each section you could list the username of the person who made each one sort of the way class pictures are labeled (you know, these are the people from left to right).

Okay... I don't think we should do it soon since we still need to do other stuff and I think that should be the last thing we do. So, we'll just see what times are good when we're ready, but I'm thinking maybe the 20th and 21st would be good? That's a Monday and Tuesday (the ones after the next ones).

We should try to make a list of everything we need to work on between now and then. I'm going to do some corner banners, and I'll work on organizing threads too. What else is there?

Okay, 20 and 21? Sounds good. I think we need to figure out which threads we could trash, if any. If I see anything that is note worthy of keeping, I'll sticky it in the forums. This weekend I plan on trying to create a few banners, but I've been procrastinating on it crying and practicing with BBCode.
