Adriel sighed as he watched the other's eyes unfocus once again while they walk. What the hell kind of trauma did this kid go through? Shaking his head, he kept walking until he heard the teenager's voice. "Not very far, really..."

He watched the kid for a moment until his eyes became unfocus again. He muttered under his breath, it took several minutes of fast paced walking until they got to the camp. A large persian pulled his head up, his blue jewel giving a faint glow in the darkness of the night, his eyes flashed in the dim moonlight, as did his trainer's. Faraon's body rested on a hammock set up between two trees, it sway back and for gently as the large feline nestle back into it, wondering who the second human was.

Roughly, Adriel seated Lumin in on a foldable chair before he walked away to his cart, taking something things out, he came back and started to lit a fire. After a couple of tries, the light of the fire started to brew dimly as he stalk wood and old papers in it to feed it.

The Galactic trainer plucked off his two Pokeballs, both of them pitch black and reflective, gleaming in the moonlight, "Well, kid, you picked the wrong person to piss off. I'm not gonna hold back, I think that's for pussies with sentimental 'ideals'. The truth is, soon, we're gonna remake this world, and people who don't do like we say don't have a place in it. So think of this as a favor, you get on the early train out'a here." He popped the buttons on each one, then tossed them in the air, "Say hello to two of the latest products of Team Galactic, and say goodbye to your life."

A hand shoved him roughly into a chair. They appeared to have made it to the campsite, and the man had gotten a fire started. That was a good thing, it wasn't as dark as it could have been, now... He caught a movement out of the corner of his eye and shot up. As he looked, it was just a Persian.. probably the man's. He was still breathing heavily as he stared into the fire, then whispered to himself, "Will it keep them at bay?"

Adriel watched him silently between pokes of the fire. He sighed softly as he was question, at least the kid was back to his right mind, for now. "Kid, nothing in its right mind bothers me. You are safe here. Faraon knows what to do with unwanted guests" He looked pointly towards the persian, who remind in the hammock." and Songwriter should be coming around soon."

Faraon could smell the fear and panic waffling from the new human, his milky blind eyes narrow as he huffed.

Lumin continued to stare into the fire, "Unwanted guests... If only..."

Jeremy stared at the man as he threw his Pokeballs. Nothing to worry about, there wasn't a Pokemon alive that could match Shmack. He was the fastest and strongest Hitmonchan in existence, and he had proved it over and over again. He smirked, whatever this guy had, it wouldn't be enough.
The Pokeballs soared through the air, then opened, there was no red beam of light, only black fog that rolled out of the ball as though it were filled with some kind of mutated dry ice. The fog congealed and clung to itself, sticking together to create two forms in the air in front of Shmack. They slowly changed color and gained solidity until they were living breathing Pokemon. Lumin and Jeremy gasped in unison as Shmack took a step back. The Galactic cackled madly, "This is it, after I'm done with your Pokemon, you're next."

Lumin shook his head again as he continued to focus on the beacon of light in the darkness. His lifeline in a sea of fear. He searched the fire, if for no other reason than to distract himself from the memories that the dark was bringing to the surface. The memories that told him what exactly lurked in the unknown. A tear formed in his eye, he hated that city, and he hated the house. He blamed them all for it, but more than anything, he hated the dark. That cloak that those things use to hide themselves.

Adriel somewhat wished he could put the teenager at peace. He loved the night, it was when he was most active, but he knew not many enjoyed it as he did. He wonder what the other was afraid of, the darkness? The forest itself? The dark pokemon? Ghost pokemon?

He stopped trying to pull apart the boy's fear, only so he wouldn't gain a headache from it. In true, what was he suppose to do? He could tell Lumin that it was extremely unlikely that anything would step into the camp, he could even vaguely tell him why. Oh did he needed a cigarette.

"....There is nothing to be afraid of in the dark...." .....no...you only have to be afraid of of what it held. He finish the sentence in his mind. "There is worse things out there, then the darkness....."

He looked up. Howling, loudly, the houndooms announce themselves in the distance, calling the pack back so they could hunt together. He subconsciously rubbed his forearm. "They say that if you are burn with a houndoom's flame...it never stops hurting, even after the burn is gone..." His violet eyes looked at Lumin. "They are right."

The two Pokemon reared their wings, one was a Golbat, and the other a Crobat.. but there was something wrong with them. The Golbat was the most obvious, it's feet were covered in boils, it had patches of black and red on its wings and body, part of its head seemed to be caved in, and it wasn't the normal color, it had a twinge of red covering its entire body, making it look like it was being viewed through red tinted glass. The Crobat also held this same twinge, but it was less pronounced, its wings were covered in the same black and red patches, and it's lower wings contained several small holes. But, despite all these obvious things, there was something.. off about them. They didn't seem right in their minds, almost as if they had been driven insane. The Golbat stood swaying unnaturally, and the Crobat kept listing to one side as it hovered above the ground. The thug cackled again, "These two are experiments 36H and 52M, the only two survivors of their batches. I hand picked them myself. They're stronger, faster, and completely under my control. You're mine."

Lumin blinked as he heard the other man speak, as he began talking about the Houndoom, Lumin raised his head. He nodded as the man finished, "Fascinating, I had always heard that, but I had never been sure. After all, they also say that their howls can summon the Grim Reaper himself..."

"Not really..." The man put a pot over the fire and begin to cook, he pause for a moment when he heard a sound, a pidgeot rested on a branch above his tent. It gave a soft chirp before pushing its head under its wing. "They don't summon the grim reaper, but their howls do attract darkais. If you ever find a darkai, you are more then likely find a good size pack of houndooms not far from it. They enjoy it, to them, it sounds like music, and I know, most people see Darkais and Houndooms as vicious or dark...or even evil. They aren't." He looked up from the pot again as more howling came about. "....To be honest, I agree with them. Its a beautiful song, create by nature. We should be honor to hear it. "

Lumin nodded, he had been distracted, though he was still all too aware of the darkness that surrounded them, "It is beautiful... Though... I'm not sure if..." He froze, there was a noise, a squeak, "What was that?"

Jeremy grinned, though his confidence had ebbed slightly, "You think a pair of rats with wings can beat us? Shmack, use Mega Punch." Shmack hesitated for only a second, but that second was far too long. The Crobat fell on him like a thing possessed, and the Golbat was right behind it, though bound for a different spot. The large deformed bat flew over Shmack and his attacker to go directly for Jeremy. He screamed as the tortured and deformed bat fell on him.

Faraon's ears perked up, moving back and for like a satellites pin pointing their goal.

The human arched an eyebrow and looked around, taking out a flash light and pointing out of the fire's circlet of light. "Probably a ratatta....but as I said, nothing in its right mind would come here unless its injure."

Lumin swallowed hard as he struggled to see outside the firelight. There was something out there.. he could feel it... Maybe it was nothing but the dark, but it was out there. He looked down at his hands to find them shaking, then clasped them together in a feeble attempt to stop them. His wide eyes glassed over once more, as the darkness continued to drag him back through the memories of that night.

After murdering Pokemon and partner, the Galactic recalled the crazed Pokemon. He ransacked the house, miraculously missing the closet where Lumin hid. After the man left, Lumin emerged to check on his brother. Jeremy, his invincible brother, lay on the ground in a pool of his own blood, his neck nearly severed. Shmack, the Pokemon that was almost the same age as Jeremy, was not in much better condition. Neither moved, not even to breath. The house was deathly silent, nothing but his own breath, and the beat of his heart. That was it. But that silence was broken by a crash from the front of the house.

Lumin leaped up from where he sat, barely containing a shriek. He had heard a crash behind him. He whirled to stare wide eyed at the rotted tree branch that had fallen. His breath came in shallow gasps as he sat down again, shaking all over, "R.. r.. right.... Nothing would come in.. in here..."

If Adriel hadn't been used to people jumping up and screaming all around him, he would sure as hell had spilled all the food in the pot on him when the kid jumped up. But he was used to people screaming and jumping all of the sudden, so his demeanor didn't change as he served the food into five bowls.

"Ya got a name, kid?" He said as he trust the food in front of him before getting up and putting a bowl near the hammock and another on a low branch for his pidgeot. He picked one for himself as he saw back down by the fire, leaving the last bowl on the opposite side of the fire from where Lumin was sitting.

Lumin accepted the food, his fear of the dark, and his gratitude for being rescued from it overriding his cautiousness with strangers. He looked into the murky depths of the bowl to see a place far away at a time far gone.

Lumin left his brother and walked downstairs in shock. The crash had been the door falling in, probably after being slammed shut by the Galactic. He looked around to see his house destroyed, nothing left but a shell filled with broken memories, dreams, and family. He stumbled outside to see something moving on the ground. It was a person.. it was.. his dad. Quickly, Lumin ran to him, "DAD! They got Jeremy! Quick, he's not breathing! We have to help him!"

Lumin's father reached up to pat him weakly on the shoulder, "It's okay, boy. You need to take care of yourself, first." He shoved a piece of paper in Lumin's hand, "Take that, go the hotel, they'll take you somewhere safe. We'll come when we can, but you need to get there first, otherwise they won't know we're coming." He coughed a little, it looked like he spit in his hand, but it was too dark to see what color it was.

Lumin let his spoon disturb the liquid, and thus, the memory. He took a bite, "M.. my name is Lumin... What's yours?"

The healer smiled slightly. "Dr. Hart, you can call me that, Lumin." The boy's name made him think of light, he suppose it fit the teenager.

In the dark, a rather large creature lay rest, staring down with purple eyes. A smirk drew itself upon a feline-like face. Slowly it approached closer and closer to the light until it could go not further without giving it self away. A massive tail twitched, as it got ready to pounce.

And then...POW!

A large blur of white and purple flew over the fire and pounced the healer. Making both man and pokemon rolled right inside the open tent. The man shouted and cursed outloud. "I am going to kill you, you goddamn b*****d!" Besides the obvious rustling and thumps, the pokemon didn't make a sound.

After a few minutes, all sound die down and out came out a very dishevel healer, looking furious. "Menudo, I should make you eat your own tail!"

A laughter invaded the healer and the artist's heads.

"Stop laughing and come out here! you probably made the kid crap his pants!"

More laughter, and by the sound, the creature was rolling around in the tent floor laughing.

Lumin nodded as the man.. Dr. Hart.. said his name. He was within seconds of replying when something large burst from the dark. Lumin's vision exploded, then went black. He stopped breathing for a moment before falling from the chair, causing both the seat and its occupant to hit the ground.

He saw a mixture of visions while he lay there motionless. All swimming and coming together and breaking apart. He saw the hotel owner as he ran through the door. he saw her face as he recapped his story. He saw her shock. He saw his parents, and brother dead. He saw the laughing face that he knew was responsible. He saw the years he lived alone in Sunnyshore, as they accumulated and came around. He saw the sleepless nights where he knew that he would be attacked suddenly by the bats and the man who controlled them. He saw his decision to leave that city, both bright and dark at once. He saw.. them... The crazed bats. They came after him in swarms, leaping for his throat, his face, anything that was exposed, while the man laughed.

Another thump and the laughter stopped, the healer came over to Lumin and shook him lightly. "Kid....kid! Lumin! Come on, it was just my stupid pokemon, he thought it would be funny to scare the bejesus out of us both. Idiot!" He shouted back towards the tent, where the pokemon rested, hidden behind the close flat, just a white muzzle peeking out for a moment to give a loud huff.

"Lumin..." He waved his hand infront of the kid's eyes. "Hello?"
