Calla vaguely wondered if Shizuka was pretending to be oblivious, or actually oblivious. Either way she wasn’t going to question the ex-Captain, as shocking as the thought was Calla knew when to stop questioning. She would, once upon a time, do that to Adrian. Question and push him until so very close to the breaking point, and then swiftly retreat back into the being the good little recruit. It was this that had probably instilled in her the sense of always needing to be doing something, considering the unusual amount of punishment she had received from the Drill Sergeant compared to the rest of her class. Ah well, the whole thing had been rather entertaining for her. Wait, did Alister just call Shizuka ‘Your Highness’? Had those word’s actual left the man’s mouth? Or was Calla simply hallucinating. From Shizuka’s words she could only assume she was not hallucinating. It took every inch of Calla’s being to simply take a mental note instead of just breaking down laughing right there and mocking him mercilessly. Oh yes, she would make sure he would here about this later, it would be much of a struggle for him to live this one down. Finally she heard the “At Ease” Command and very nearly sighed in relief as she settled herself in the nearest chair, flexing her hand a bit to get the blood flowing again she listened to Riya attentively. What could she bring to this fort? Calla thought back on her past ten years at New Eve curiously. How could she boil that down into the summary Riya was asking for? “Well, other than ten years of experience on the Frontlines, a different way of approaching things.” Calla started, her tone nonchalant, confident, “From what I’ve seen New Eve and White Shadow do function slightly differently. I bring with me a different method of viewing and solving a problem.” Calla explained, forcing herself to relax. “And I communicate with people well.” Riya had asked for a summary and that was what she had gotten, but Calla couldn’t help but think it might come off being overly egotistical, which had not been what she had been aiming for in the least.

Miri sat down in one of the chairs. She was somewhat relieved when Shizuka left the room, but almost fell off again when she said she was going to watch another time, possibly. As she recovered from the shock, she waited her turn to answer the interview question, seeing that if she was going to be polite, she wouldn't interupt someone else's answer. As Miri waited, she thought of what her response would be. When Calla was done speaking, Miri started quickly as to not have someone answer quicker than her, but slowed down after. "As a private in White Shadow, I will continue to do the best I can to help the fort, whatever position I may be in. I will try to follow the great riders before me,"she gestured with her hand at Riya and Karayan, and the one who had just left, before continuing. "And help the generations to come. I will contribute to White Shadow, quick thinking, ideas, and sharp eyes to watch over the young who are misbehaving and bringing down the reputation of White Shadow. I will help check on training, to make sure that those we bring in are in the best condition to fight, and to protect the innocent who cannot defend him or herself, while helping make sure that White Shadow does not fall apart from small, senseless arguements that will lead toe hatred amoungst each other." Miri ended her response to the question, hoping she hadn't insulted anyone and with the thought that she had done wll in a few moment's of preperation. Sure, she could have done better with the introduction, but it would have to do. She waited for someone else to answer.

Shizuka...was pleased...that was a good thing. Even with that knowledge it didn't stop half his soul from dying when the woman said she was coming back to hover over the fort. That would not bode well for anyone, especially not for the privates who'd begun to slack off in the woman's absent, himself included sometimes. That situation could be remedied rather easily though, if the proper incentive was given. Finding his mind drifting he dragged himself back to the present contemplating the first question for a moment as he let the other two finish speaking. "As of late there has been a lack of...manners among the apprentices and even among the older privates, a situation which if given the means to I intend to rectify. Also another issue I hope to rectify is the feel of laziness that has settled over the fort during the winter. While it is understandable that winter is meant for a bit of relaxation the training grounds have been rather empty which shows persons are beginning to relax a bit too much. Whether that will hamper their performance once the centipedes begin attacking again remains to be seen."

Riya listened half-attentively to Calla, almost expecting the answer she received from the former New Eve rider since she and Karayan had been thinking along the same lines. One advantage of appointing the rank to Calla was that she would indeed bring new ideas and methods to White Shadow, many of which have been and still are working effectively for New Eve. On the other hand, assigning a fresh face to a commanding rank when she had no experience with the dozens of men and women she would be fighting alongside could prove to be detrimental.
"If by different you mean chasing after the apprentices like a bunch of immature men, let me tell you now that we deeply frown upon such idiotic behavior," the Lieutenant responded curtly to the first speaker before turning her attention to the next.
After awhile, Riya wasn't sure what she thought of Miri. If she recalled correctly, the first few sentences out of the girl's mouth had been quite intelligent, but then everything after that drowned out whatever it was that had been lingering in Riya's mind. "You should have stopped halfway through all that nonsense," she commented disinterestedly after Miri had finally finished. "I don't even remember what you said anymore."
Glancing at Alister when the lone male applicant spoke up, Riya raised an eyebrow at his very first sentence, quite amused that he had tried to show up his fellow applicants whether he knew it or not. "Hm.." was all she offered in a bored tone after he had stopped talking, only because she had interesting to say to him, good or bad. That could have been seen as a good or bad thing since you always wanted to make some type of an impression. But then again, you didn't really want to leave your superiors with a bad impression of you.
Truth be told, Riya was absolutely bored and wondering if they had made a mistake in choosing these candidates. She had been expecting the three of them to argue amongst each other more rather than sit quietly and wait their turn like useless recruits as they were doing now. A brief glance to the side showed her that Karayan had expected the same, and his lack of attention on the entire interview only fueled her annoyance. Riya looked over the three applicants with narrowed eyes. "As a reminder to all of you, we are looking for somebody who is confident and outspoken, but not to the point of being rude. So do feel free to speak up if you believe one of your peers is in the wrong, because we aren't looking for someone who rolls over and takes it like a beaten dog."
Riya looked at them calmly, hoping they would now be more open about their opinions and defensive against conflicting views. "With a bonded pair, which one is more important - the human or the wolf? In a battle, which one would you rather sacrifice if you must choose one?"
[OoC: As I stated in the thread before, you are not required nor are you suggested to post in order. In fact, we encourage that you post out of order and that your character engage in short arguments.]

ooc.) Shizuka didn't leave the room, yylaayl...
Shizuka yawned in the middle of someone's speech and rubbed her eyes, tired from the dull humming noise coming from the private's mouths. Riya asks such dull questions and gets even duller answers! The retired captain had hoped for a fight or two to break out before the day was over whether it was with her or amongst them. Now, that would be amusing. However, all she got were... unfortunately she wasn't really listen at all to what was going on and only managed to semi-tune-in when Riya started saying something about immature men and beaten dogs. Whatever the young Lieutenant said, Shizuka hoped the privates processed more of it then she did.
Then the girl was speaking again and Shizuka giggled at the question. "Oh, Riya, you're giving them such a hard time!" She then turned to the privates. "But since it's been asked, I suggest you all also explain yourself decisions clearly."
