Ben glanced down at the notes Triss had just given her and started to rifle through them. She smiled at the results of the race, it was rather interesting how successful some of these dragons were. Ben flipped to the back of the packet and started to skim over the profiles of each dragon and their rider...it was quite enlightening. With a sigh, Ben placed the packet under her arm and started to walk away from the stadium, absentmindedly scratching her young dragon who was wrapped around her shoulders like a fur wrap.

There was a flash of gold and red as a short woman walked through the crowd. She came up to the chin of average women, normally, now her head was bowed and her nose was burried in a book. Which meant she was not looking where she was going. She literally ran into the woman with the strange dragon. One moment she was on her feet, submerged under a mental blanket of text and the next the book was beside her, on the ground with the thick packet beside it.
"Oh!" She gasped, startled to find herself on her butt, her book flopped onto the street beside her. "Oh." She practically moaned. "I'm sorry." She snated up her book then saw the notes and swiftly she picked them up too and handed them back to the woman "I'm sorry" She said again "I wasn't paying attention" Obviously. "I didn't hurt you did I?" She had dusted off her tan dress while talking and for the first time stared up at the poor woman she had run into. She felt tiny against her. She decided reading while walking was not an appropriate way to save herself time and multitask. The battered book in her hand was one on raising dragons.
Her eyes shifted to the strange dragon and practically bulged out of her head. "Oh wow" She breathed, and again her mouth worked before her brain again. "I've never seen a beauty like that." Her words flowed quickly. "What kind is it? How old?"

Ben stumbled when the girl ran into her, but caught herself before she fell over. Regaining her balance, she straightened up and looked down on the girl, smiling kindly, her eyes flashing with laughter. "We're fine, but are you alright, you were the one who took the fall." she said but was interrupted at the girl's admirations for her small dragon who was peering curiously over Ben's shoulder. With a bright laugh, Ben held herself against the barrage of questions and the moment the girl stopped for breath, Ben answered back in hopes that the girl would remain quiet long enough to catch her breath. "Thank you, this is Teleri," she said reaching up and transferring the dragon into her arms, "She is a Quetzal, a very rare breed of dragon. They have no legs, so they cannot run, but they are fast in the sky and very flexible. She is about a week old, due to grow any time now." she said, scratching the little dragon as it hummed happily.

Dierdre laughed softly, her voice was lovely, though the rest of her was unimpressive. It was her energy that showed through most and made her bright and beautiful. "Oh, I'm just fine... I... actually do it all the time." She flushed as she admitted that fact.
The girl leaned in to admire the quetzal. "She's beautiful" She breathed, quieting again. She held out a hand to the small dragon, not getting too close to startle her. "I'm Dierdre" She tacked on.

Ben smiled again as Teleri stretched out and sniffed Dierdre's hand and than licked it softly with her blue and green tongue. With a delighted squeek, Teleri pushed her head into the girl's hand and hummed happily. Ben chuckled softly, "Well, like I said, this is Teleri. I'm Benadine, or Ben for short." she said cheerfully as she saw Teleri happy with Dierdre's attentions. Ben smiled and turned to the girl, "Do you have a dragon? I can see you're reading up on how to raise them...I can tell you that those books are only so helpful...dragons are mainly unpredictable, its better to know that you're going to just learn as you go." she said.

Garth walked out into dragon city and even though his face held its normal expresionless look inside he was exploding with happiness. His dream of becoming a dragon rider was coming true. A dragon of my own... Shimmergloom ahhh what a splendied name for a dragon i wonder what he will be like or how strong or fast he will be thought Garth. Not far off Garth noticed two women one with a multi colored dragon of a kind he never seen before and the other holding a tan egg.

(she wasn't holding her egg, just so you know)
Dierdre burst into a sunny smile and stroked the dragons scales, scratching behind the horns gently. She was more than happy to shower any dragon with attention, expecialy this new little marvel. "I just got my egg a few days ago" She said. "I've always wanted one, I'm just nervous I'm going to mess it up!" She laughed, knowing, in all likelihood, she couldn't completely screw it up, and that she had the backing of her clan to help. It was nice to know there were generations of dragon raisers standing behind her, ready and willing to help. "I know I can't learn everything from a book, but a general idea of what could happen is better than going in blind, I suppose"

"Oh,what a fragile dragon."Sophia said softly as she lean over Teleri."Can't wait to see the 2 new eggs hatch."As Sophia looks at them.

Are you planning on racing?" she asked, as that was the main past time of dragon and humans. Suddenly another girl spoke up, seemingly having appeared out of nowhere. Surprised, Teleri squeaked and shrank back, hiding her face in the crook of Ben's arm. Ben herself was a bit surprised and stiffened a bit, holding Teleri a bit closer. When the initial shock lessened, Ben processed what the girl had said and was slightly confused. "New eggs hatch all the time, what two eggs do you speak of?" she asked

Dierdre considered as she smiled at the new girl. "I don't know." She admitted. "I've... always just... loved them, I haven't thought ahead much. If he wants to, then of course!" She smiled brightly as that answer occured to her

Ben beamed at Deirdre's response. "I could not think of a better answer myself. Mark my words, you will make a great partner for your dragon. You may hit some snags here and there, but I'm sure you will come through with flying colors." she said, truly happy that this girl was showing so much potential. Ben made a mental note of the conversation, who knows, this girl could be one to look into.

((Jessica I think you are confused. This is a world where noone knows who anyone is unless they introduce themselves, or are in the same guild and are friends. Ben has no idea what you are talking about.
Plus, you want to keep the fact that you are in a guild secret, you don't want people to know. So in light of that...I still have to respond to Sophia.))
Ben looked at the new girl and furrowed her eyebrow, trying to remember those names, perhaps they were belonging to some celebrity and she had not paid attention to the proper articles. Sadly, Ben shook her head and sighed, "I'm sorry, I've never heard of those names." she replied.

(why wouldn't you want someone to know you're part of a guild? Isn't the spirit guild generally thought of as good?)
Dierdre blinked, she didn't know how this girl knew the name of her dragon, or who Shimmergloom was. She thought, perhaps, Sophia was in the same guild?

"Oh,i'm so sorry."She said."My name is Sophia and my dragon's name is Nova."She said."If you don't know who Shimmergloom is try your best to find out yourself."She said sadly.
(This happens a lot when i'm rping.I'm kind of new to rping sweatdrop )
