Aidan yowled as he dropped, until he landed with a thud on the two lions below him. He let go of the bird and rolled off onto his back on the ground. Pretty much the only major thing that happened was that he scared himself half to death. He lay tense on the ground, eyes wide in a stare of horror.
Then he heard Grinch next to him and started crying. "I was just trying to get the bird for you P..." He sniffled and stopped himself before having the possability of being scolded. "Grinch! I thought it could hold me for a minute there..."
He blinked and looked over at the lioness, confused. "Your friends with the bird?" He looked at the poor bird he'd dragged down, still on his back this entire time. "Geez...I'm sorry!"

"Ugh. Stoppit." Grinch grumbled, reaching over first to pull the cub over to him. He wasn't very ceremonious about it, and just held Aidan as he came over. "We're fine." He informed Safira.
Grinch looked down and licked some of the dirt off of Aidan, "Well, now you know." He informed him, then rolled over to stand on his feet. "Not sure I can say I've literally butt heads with people the moment I met them. I am Grinch. This is Aidan. We were having hunting lessons. Your bird-friend was having fun teasing until Aidan got the best of him." He half-smiled at that, glint of--nah, couldn't be. Grinch wouldn't be proud of that cub he wouldn't even claim.

"It's all right, I'm sure she's fine," Safi replied to Aiden with a smile. She watched as Kopi hopped over to her, glaring silently at Aiden and the Grinch then gave her friend a 'be-nice' sort of look.
"Well It's er...nice I suppose to meet you two. I'm Safira and my little friend is Kopi." She paused for a moment then looked back at Kopi who was sitting, eyes closed, "And It's my fault really. I heard you laugh Grinch and decide to have her see where the sound came from..."

"Awww geez! Your messin' up my mane!" He whined as Grinch licked him, fixing the small tuft of "mane" on his head afterward. He looked up at Grinch though and smiled. Had he made his papa proud...maybe? That would make his day.
He walked over to the bird and tilted his head, then nudged it gently with his nose. "I'm sorry I pulled ya down Kopi. I promise I won't do that again." He smiled then walked over to the lioness. Slowly he trailed in little circles around her paws, curious about her. It was few and far between that he saw a lioness.
"I like your name Safiri." He smiled up at her, sitting down, then looked back over his shoulder at the big green lion.

Kopi looked at the little runt of a lion for a minute, still rather upset then closed her eyes.
"Apology accepted. But do be more careful next time."
Safira giggled at the little cub as he walked around her and messed up her name. She may have been timid and shy, but she was certainly more comfortable around younger lions.
"Well I like your name too Aiden. It's very cute." She didn't bother correct the cub, she didn't mind.

((I actually typo'd her name there sorry. XD But we can chalk it up to him prounouncing it differently. =3))
Aidan smiled at Kopi, then looked back up at Safira. She sure was pretty. And she seemed really nice. "Your really nice!" He stood up crawled onto her back, careful not to nick her with a claw.
Happily perched atop her head he batted at one ear playfully, smiling at Grinch. "Will you be my mama? I don't have one anymore." His smile dimmed for a bit there, but quickly enough he started to bat at her ears again.

Safira thanked Aiden for his compliment on how she was so nice, then smiled as he climbed onto her back. He was such a cute little cub and quite sweet himself. She paused though at his question and frowned lightly. She felt bad about the poor cub not having a mother...
However, all the same, she didn't really know either the cub or the Grinch very well.
"That's a very sweet question to ask Aiden," she responded, "But...I'm not sure..."

Grinch snorted, "What if you meet a lioness you think is nice that turns out to be rotten that decides to be your mother and then you're stuck with a rotten mother?" He demanded of Aiden, giving Safira more of a frown than him.
Grinch circled Safira a bit, putting his nose down to sniff at Kopi as he came near, "This your land?" He asked.

Aidan watched his Papa with a smile. "I can just tell Grinch. She even let me climb on her back! Kopi's nice too." He looked down at the bird as he talked about her, giving her a grin. He quite enjoyed being up high, thus why he was on Grinch's back so often.
The way Grinch sniffed at Safira and Kopi made him wonder if he just didn't like them. He climbed down, landing on his rump, then climbed up his Papa's leg, up onto his back.

Safira frowned at the Grinch. She didn't like that he seemed to be suspecting her of being unkind. She didn't say anything though, that wasn't in her nature. She merely answered his question.
"No. I have no land. I'm a wanderer..."
Kopi hopped out of the way when being sniffed, glaring slightly at the Grinch. What Safi lacked her little bird certainly made up for.
"Oh rubbish," she said, "Safira's a sweet thing. Never have I seen her be 'rotton' in any way..."

Grinch looked from Aiden to Safira to Kopi. He seemed a bit more relaxed now that the cub was back by his side.
And he started to laugh at Kopi's words, "Rubbish, eh? Yes, I suppose speaking of something that is rotten can be considered rubbish as well." His eyes glistened in both merriment and mischievousness, "Perhaps I am the rotten one. Aiden did just sort of pick me out as well. Rrrrr...." He growled lowly at Aiden, putting one paw on his head and bringing another, claws out, slowly toward him.

Aidan purred as he nestled into the big lion's mane, but yowled in surprise when he saw the claws. "Ahh! What're ya doin'?!" He squaks and climbs down, running with his tail between his legs up a tree trunk, holding onto it with his claws.
"You know I don't like how big your claws are compared to mine!" He just watched now, clinging to stay on the side of the tree.

"Aiden seems to like you a lot Mr. Grinch...I really think that was rather unnecessary..." Her voice got quieter as she said this and by the word 'unnecessary' had become hard to hear. She looked away, thinking.
"I think you should be lucky he chose you..."
Kopi nodded, "Maybe you are the rotton one! Judging other lions before you meet them an' pulling your claws out on a cub!"

Grinch had put his paw down the moment Aiden ran off, head tilted at him a bit. It wasn't the cub he turned his temper onto though. He turned to Kopi, merriment and teasing out of his eyes, "Perhaps you should learn to tell when a lion is trying to teach a well-needed lesson, and when fun is being had. Cruel, kind, good, bad, glad, sad...I don't care what you are, but a cub that attaches himself onto another without using some survival skills is lucky himself to still be alive." He shot a look into the tree Aiden was sitting in, "It was in fun, but if you'd rather have her, then I'm done."
He started to stalk right past the lioness and bird, back turned completely on the tree Aiden was in as he started to go. He grumbled under his breath as left, low enough that Aiden couldn't here, but he was close and loud enough that Kopi and Safira could, "Lucky indeed. He uses me for himself, tries to leave me for someone else the moment he sees them, and I'm the bad guy. Brat. Take the stranger."

Aidan pretty much ignored what the lioness and bird said. He was locked on to Grinch as he spoke. He'd always loved the rhyms he told, but this last one that he heard left him in shock. Done? What did he mean? He couldn't mean he'd leave him now?! He jumped down from the tree and ran to sit at the big green lion's paws, a terrified look on his face.
"You can't leave! Your my P..." He whimpered knowing he wasn't allowed to call him that in public. But if he was possibly leaving...what harm would it do anyway? "..Papa! I've been with you since I can remember! You can't leave!" Pathetically, he wrapped his arms around the big paws, holding on tightly.
"I don't mind being punished for callin' you Papa...but it's true! True to me!"
