If I could have been a sniper I really think I would have gone into the military. It seems like a fun job in a sick sense. I mean you get to literally hunt people. Granted they are usually horrible people who deserve it but it is like extreme hunting.

I understand some of the reasons they give for not wanting women in combat. I know a lot of men who are military who would not be able to deal with a woman in combat. The only reason for that is that they would probably do something stupid to protect her because that is what they were brought up to do. One of them punch out this guy at a bar who was being extremely rude and disgusting while trying to hit on me after i politely declined his offer. Sometimes women cloud men's judgment.

Most women are just as capable as men in doing physical labor and exercises but something I tend to argue with a lot of people is that even though we can, does it mean we should? Women's bodies are not designed to do a lot of that stuff or even "normal" jobs like construction. It just destroys your body later in life.

Society also playing into the decision a lot. Women aren't really seen as battle ready because of things like periods and the fact that they are seen as weak. Also they are the life givers and without them our population drops. It's really still a fight with stereotypes from the 1950s

I love when people bring up subjects like this.

I'm highly against females doing all the " cool " jobs.
As I agree there are jobs only available to men that could easily add women with no real big issues.

Do you have any idea really what it's like to be a sniper? Rangers? Delta? ( I'm not to keen on other branches high end warriors but I'm quite sure their training is just as harsh. )

First off let me point this out. You as a woman get a nice little monthly visitor.
Plus, your v****a has to always stay nice and clean otherwise infections and disease creep in fast and put you out of commission fast.
Your out at a snipers perch where you aren't allowed to move for days.. and your red sea comes running in. Do You think you can just walkie up your superior and ask for a few minutes to go change your panties and grab a tampon?
Nooo- sorry huns.
Men are physically more durable then women any day of the week.
My dad is a ranger and his best friend is in delta. They have both been in the military 18 plus years, and I have asked him if any of his missions requiring his skills women could do.
Now give in mind, 18 years in the military your going to run into female soldiers of all kinds.
He respectively told me no.
Yes it looks cool and it looks fun, but face the face. You are not a man. Boobs and v****a's bring you down if you chose to believe it or now.
( I'm saying all of this in the most non sexual and non perverted ways )

:/
In the ARMY ranger school recruits people after airborne school, and back when my dad was in RS there was only 6 people out of 60 that they even chose to go into the actually ranger school.
One of then selected to go on to delta. Sometimes they don't even pick any for either.

I have to say i would absolutely love being able to take combat positions. I agree that it is more challenging for females to do certain things however in no way is it impossible. My view point is let females try to do combat jobs but hold them to the same standards as the males. As for guys feeling the need to save females i think thats bullshit. Thats their problem not ours and even so if the military can teach them how to live all over again they can certainly teach them how to be less susceptible to women in pain or dying or whatever. Another thing, guys get infection too. They deal with it, so why can't we? Periods, they should have to take a shot or pill to get rid of it. Thats what i did. As for guys not being able to resist their urges that happens in a lot of MOS that have both sexes so thats a crappy reason.

Really?
Lol... Like I said I grew up around all the special forces.

You sit here on your high horse and talk about how you can pass the male PT test thats great. Good for you.
You do realize to get into the special classes and what not, your generally going to be doing double?
You think that your average PT is going to be just 42 push ups and a 2 mile run?
Noooooo-
My husband runs on average about 5 miles a day.
Sometimes they even do 8.
You think all of these jobs are fun and cool but you have no clue.

My dad talked to me about some of his training. Doing 50 push ups and 200 sit ups back and forth.
One of you girls in here can give me proof of being able do do any of this
" physical " parts of training.

Getting a shot, doesn't last forever. You have to get them around every three months.
What happens if your journey takes you past that time huh? Are they supposed to take a special trip to a clinic to get you fixed up?
Standards are how they are for a reason. Because the elite have to be all together. Apparently there haven't been enough women found to be elite enough to try harder to get all of this s**t passed?
Because there aren't.
Are there women who could maybe pull all of this off?
Yeah sure.
But your a million years away before you see a girl sniper or ranger.
Even farther from a female delta.

Ok first off, when did i ever say i can pass the male pt test? Secondly, my best friend can do all of those things. And did you not listen at all to what i said? I'm assuming you didn't because from the looks of it you didn't even skim it. My whole point was that there are a few girls who can meet all requirements necessary and why should they be stopped from trying? And yes i see your point on extended tours where shots wouldn't really help but for some women who don't get periods for medical reasons or because they had things removed they obviously don't have an issue with that. I admit this isn't many girls but who are you to say they can't? And just to add, yes hun i do have a clue how hard these things can get. I go to survivals and bivouacs every year and each year the runs and hikes and times without provisions increase. Don't tell me i "have no clue."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 31, 2009 12:32 pm

Why should they be stopped?
Because even out of 100 girls who can " pass a male PT test " I doubt even one would be considered for the ranger schools or sniper schools.
Besides...
The military can't just snoop around for females who have had a hysterectomy before being able to consider them.
That being said they still aren't immune to feminine diseases caused by being unclean.
Who am I to say they can't?
Never said it was up to me. But all the special forces have been doing plenty well without having to drag females behind them.

Oh yeah..
You still have no clue.
Unless your runs and hikes take you from the forest to the swamp and then the mountains with only one MRE to last three days. when some of these schools lasts for 9 weeks.
I'm sorry if I have a hard time believing if you do.

Again, no one suggested that the military "go snooping" for such girls. They don't snoop for anyone. If such a female exists and wanted to do some combat job it would be her duty to take the initiative and come forth. And as for females not being immune to diseases caused by uncleanliness, uhhh males aren't immune to such diseases either. Also, as i said before i do have a clue. All of our events are in the mountains (some in winter some in summer) and yes we trudge through rivers and muck and yes with only one MRE that is split between four people. I may not have the whole concept but i most definitely "have a clue."

Thats great that you think that men are more susceptible to diseases or even equal to diseases caused by being unclean.
You are very very veryyyyyy mistaken. I'm in nursing school sweetie, my mom is a biologist and a school health and science teacher.
Your about 20x more likely to catch a disease in your v****a from lying in the ground, going through the swamps, sweating, running, not cleaning after using the rest room and yes getting your period without proper care.

Facts are facts. Do men get diseases from being unclean? Yes I agree they certainly do, but the base is -
Men were designed to be big and strong, built for war and to last long.
Women, sorry toots, were created to have babies.
And if you payed attention to anything in any healthy affiliated classes you would know that its just bare facts of life that you are more prone to catching something.

I'm sorry if you choose not to believe this.

As for women who have had to under go the " suck it all out " procedure..
Do you know how often tat even happens? For most women no t until their older or at risk for types of cancer.
Ranger school has a cut off love,
Thats 26 ^_^ and I have never known a women under that age to have gotten one. Am I aware that some do? Yes I get it thanks. But you fail to realize how awesome and completely masculine of a woman you are creating in order to break your barrier into crossing the " combat MOS "

Thats great you split an MRE. It really truly is. Brag all you want because I'm sure sharing time ends in a nice comfortable air conditioned/heated car ride home, instead of repelling out of a helicopter to your next stage of training. :]

You just love twisting words don't you? I never said males are more likely to catch such diseases. Nice attempt though. See what i really don't get though, is there are lots of MOS's that allow females to so all those things you said, but no one even mentions it. Oh and i believe you, it only makes sense that women are more likely to catch venereal infections and such, but that wasn't my point. And you are only kind of right about being a ranger. The requirement is that you have to pass the APFT in the 17 to 21 age group so you don't necessarily have to be that young, though age can disqualify you. And lose the condescending tone. I'm not sitting here talking to you like that, and did you seriously consider me replying to your question with minimal information "bragging?" I'm being serious to, i want to know because i really don't understand that one. Splitting an MRE isn't a big deal. They come with many items. Don't try and antagonize things, i'm not sure thats what you are attempting to do but it sounds like it.

Fine and dandy love.
Fine and dandy. My dad is a ranger.
Unless you missed that part.
You can argue all you want with me or talk all you want.

But my reasons I've said are all the real reasons women can't do the jobs. :]!
I get it that you merely pointed out that men also can get diseases.
Infact I know a few who have. But given a women in their situation the diseases and infections would be nearly fatal.

My dad spent 15 months in Iraq, half of that over in Sadr City. One of his buddies, 6'2 weighing in at around 260 pounds got wounded. With his battle gear I'm going to guess it was well over 300 pounds..
Give me a women who could life that over her shoulder and carry him all the way to safety.
Actually I'll give you a break. You can use two women. :]

I don't see a winning argument from you dear.
I've had the military apart of my life since I was born.
And like I've said, the reasons I've said women can't be in combat MOS's are the real reasons why they aren't
Be thankful the military even lets you in.. or have you forgotten there was a time you weren't allowed?
Your filling right into the sterotypicial woman who has to find everything to b***h about.
Non Combat jobs are of equal importance. Your serving your country no matter how " fun " your job is.
But apparently that isn't enough for some women.
Keep bitching tho <3

Post whatever you want. I wont come back this has been a huge waste of time.

I love how you try to seem so intelligent and you just fail. You seem to miss vital things every time you respond. I didn't ask for the reasons women aren't in those jobs did i? Oh and just cuz your dad is a ranger doesn't mean he knows everything. Research it. Rangers don't have a specified cut off list its other things that disqualify them. I have a best friend who is a ranger and told me the same thing i'm telling you. I thought the same thing you did. And are you still going on about "find me a girl who can...?" Thats funny. I'm not going to find you anything especially since things like that don't happen a lot. And i highly doubt the "gear" was 300 pounds. Maybe if he was carrying something else but not gear. the average weight that a soldier in Afghanistan carries varies from 50 to 100 pounds though sometimes they have carried up to 200. And you call me stereotypical? Wow. Glad to know that since i went to a forum that was focused on one subject, and i talked about that subject, i suddenly became a "stereotypical woman who has to find everything to b***h about." I'm not the one who went out of there way to antagonize someone. Talk about being a b***h.

Actually, I think Rochili makes a good, intellectual point as to why woman cannot do combat arms, and I agree with her statement 100%. Why? Because we can't. Scientific proof (proof as in, proof), woman are just not built to with stand those kind of conditions that a man who is a ranger or special forces or some kind of awesomecoolladdydadi can with stand.
You do know the way a v****a is formed? It's not like a peen, if s**t get's in it, it pretty much gets stuck there and creates an infection. This can be anything from light itching to even death, and with the conditions these snipers and rangers are in, if your getting any kind of v****a infection it aint gonna be your normal run of the itchness.
Also, I don't want to sound pointed here, but when she mentioned "300 lbs of gear" she was talking about carrying your gear plus a wounded or dead soldier on your back. That's the 300 lbs. Now, I'm not going to say that woman are weak or what not, as I personally know a female who can do an 11 min two mile, 90 push-ups, and almost 100 sit ups on her PT test, and thats only because time ran out, but i'm pretty damn sure that no matter how strong a female can be, they cannot carry a 250+ person on their back for miles.

I know a warrent office, he is now a pilot, he has been in 40+ years as was a ranger and a part of special forces. A couple weeks ago the subject was brought up to him about woman in combat arms, and he flat out told us that no woman, no matter how strong they are, would have been able to do the things he and the men next time him did. And there we have it folks.

There is always combat photography.

Doesn't really matter what the facts are on this really.
Society says no women in combat and its gonna take a hell of a long time for that to change.
