Name: Faline
Temper: Firey
History: Faline grew up in a highl sheltered society. Her family, in particular, never did anything out of the ordeinary or had any adventures of an sort. In this society no one went without. Everything was shared and split so no one went wanting. This lead to a crime free society. There was no need to steal or kill. Granted, everonce in a while there was a crime from a sociopathic soquili, but not often. and even then it was kept from the members of the herd so as to protect them.
Faline knew it was wrong. She knew that the all had a right to know. She knew that the herd deserved to know what was going on in the world. But the didn't. They were alwas told that the world beond their valley was cruel and heartless. They were told that the were safer in the valley. But Faline wasn't happy.
She alwas dreamed of leaving the valley and braving the so-called-cruel world. So what if it beat her up. It was better than this brain-washed society she was part of.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: She regards the world with a child-like wonder, but with the wisdom and scepticisim far beyond her years.
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: Faline saw this world with a wide-eyed-wonder. This was certainly not the desolate and unforgiving world she grew up learning about. This land was plentiful, and wonderful, and free. It was free. Oh, that word sounded wonderful to young Faline. Even the Soquili she met were wonderful! Particularly this tin mare who bounced a lot and asked her a lot of questions. She didn't mind the tiny dear, she was free.

Name: Faline
Temper:Shy
History:Faline was always shy, sweet girl as a foal. The shyness nor sweetness never left her. She's the gentle caretaker of young cerynei, despite her richly family background. She'd often thought it was silly, until she became devoted to the prince. Then she became a little more serious, just not anymore outspoken.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality:Faline is very sweet and also on the shy side. She will warm up to a person when they've shown kindness to her. She's a silent crusher, often crushing on someone from afar, too scared to say anything to them.
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: Scared of doing anything new, she leaves the forest witht he same hope as the prince. She's worried of what is to come, whether they would all perish or if they would survive. She rests her hopes in survival, trusting the Prince's decision.

Name: Faline
Temper: Forlorn
History: Nobody liked Faline. She was outcast from nearly every activity and no one bothered to conceal the tales they spoke behind her back. But she could never leave her home alone. She was much too frightened, frail and weak. They wouldn't kick her out, either, mainly because of her rich roots. Faline's family could be traced back to the greatest of elders in their herd, and therefore she was a treasure to them. A spoiled, unlikely treasure, but one nonetheless. Her mother and father were, in fact, the herd's leaders. Were. They perished for Faline during a Catwalker's attack, distracting the enraged cat just enough to let their daughter, a true treasure in their hearts, escape. This was why she was "cursed" to walk about in shame. The herd could never take Faline's parents' death for granted and kick her out, yet they blamed the child for the deaths of their beloved leaders. Then even more so was she blamed when their land took damage after damage from the human's pet: fire.

Mothers would pass Faline, wrinkling their noses beside her, and their young fillies would follow their parents' exact motions. Stallions would not dare lock eyesight with her, shaking their heads in shame. Every day she would raise her head and sigh into the wind, wishing for a better tomorrow. And so it came with speak of the Prince's departure from the herd lands. Though everyone else was coming along, Faline felt like this was her opportunity to live again.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Faline was once a bright and cheery foal beside her strong, confident parents. It all changed when she became shunned from public conversations and banned from social circles. She is now everything but happy, holding her head down with the nearly-physical burden of the spiteful eyes on her back. She'll do nearly anything for someone to call her a friend and is easily influenced.
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: She felt like there might just be hope left for her. She would stick with their Prince and the rest of the remaining herd until she finds a better, safe opportunity to leave and abandon her past once and for all.

Name: Faline
Temper: Passive
History: Faline's ancestors had always made trouble. Railing against their leaders, they had been the loudest to protest their original move into hiding. Known for calling for the greatness of the cerynei to be once again demonstrated to the other breeds, even forcefully, Faline's family is infamous amoung her tribe.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Faline herself fell far from these roots. She is passive and slow to take action, although as certain in what she belives in as all her relatives are. She loves the Prince and loves the land they live in, this she knows. Not caring of her clans diminished glory, she is nervous of her family and what they might do, and wary of the reputation that could hang over her because of it, though she loves all her relatives dearly. She does want her clan to prosper and survive, even if it's a thing they can only do away.
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: Faline has always loved the Prince, but when it came right down to it she loves the forest more. Sure, the Cerynei should move away and prosper elswhere, but Faline mourns for the trees she grew up with and wishes she could stay. One left behind couldn't make a difference... right? The only reason she agreed to go was that it was expected of her. Not wanting to make a scene, as the days dragged on it became harder and harder to speak up and demand to stay, untill it was time to leave. So she left her home, her joy. She hopes she can be happy elsewhere, but she's never been far from where she was born, and the world she hasn't yet seen but is headed towards scares her. As long as she's with her Prince she thinks she will be alright, but if only her life hadn't changed!

Name: Faline
Temper: Protective
History: They had been guardians, protectors of the herd and it's forest, for as long as the Cerynei had been there. There was nothing that they wouldn't do for thier herd, and for it's leader.

Faline knew from the day she was born, that this would be her place in the herd, what with her family naming her after the very first guardian, the one who had made sure that their entire herd had made it to thier new lands. There was no other place for her than as the bodyguard and playmate of the young prince, who was born around the same time she was.

Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Faline is quiet, and tends to blend into the background. She has a stubborn streak, but it only comes out when she is working to convince someone that they're wrong about something; especially if it would cause harm to them.

How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?:

It upset her, this was thier home, but the forest was dying, and if they were to stay, it was likely that they would die as well. She knew that this was the best choice to save thier people.

Name: Faline
Temper: calculating
History: Born of an average mother and low rank stag, Faline understands all too well the hierarchy of a herd life. She noted the disappearance of a father figure, and the close bond between mother and offspring. It was simply how the herd functioned, save for some. On one particular day, Faline had been frolicking with other younglings of the group when an odd sight caught her attention. Another child, a boy, stood out in the distance. Following a stag, one she recognized as the current Leader. Talking together, learning of and from each other in humble acceptance. Such a rare sight forever stayed in her mind, and Faline found her days spent observing the boy. It should be no surprise that the quiet prince soon spotted the lurking girl. And yet, he said nothing against her, only nodding in acknowledgment to her and even allowing her to walk beside him at day's end.

At first, Faline had been delighted to accompany the young prince. But as their company together grew, she learned discerning things of the other. His straight and narrow views set by his father, why he almost seemed an adult himself. Faline would often argue his ideals, and he her's. What could a norm know more than a prince? And what could a prince believe of a norm? The girl motivated and the boy belittled, their arguments caused an slow but eager friendship between them.

Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Like any other female, Faline holds a natural grace to her. She, however, holds it with a quiet edge of stern observation. Like an owl, admiring but oh so stealthy. Growing the life of a norm, Faline has no complaints of getting her hooves dirty and doing things herself. In fact she see's to it, if it means keeping her precious home and herd safe. Overall she is a firm female, allowing a playful smile now and then when the situation calls for it. However, she does hold one speck of bitterness to her. She despises how she grew up never knowing a whole family; living only with a mother. With that as motivation, Faline continues to pursue the prince hoping to either change that aspect....or create a family of her own that involves a male role model. Who better, and only able, than the leader?

How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: As deeply as she loves the lands of her heritage, Faline knows it means nothing if the herd doesn't survive. That alone is enough to rile her senses, and urge not only herself but others of the herd to move along. And with such willingness to compromise, Faline can only hope her sense of duty brings well favor in the eyes of the young leader.

Name: Faline
Temper: Melodic
(adj.) Of or pertaining to melody, as distinguished from harmony and rhythm; One who is at perfect harmony with the Natural world.
History:

Poets we are.
We travel far
To spread our joy
To those who smile, coy,
At our greatest pun
And at our fun
For we tell the story of our race
Back to times when not a face
Could be named
By Cerynei tamed
By the Prince's cool demeanor
(An Elder would be meaner
Than that Prince of Ours.)
We weave history with rhyme
Recalling stories of the Olden Days is our pass-time.

Listen.

We are Old.
Not in years but it is told
(By us, of course!)
That our lineage's source
Is so far beyond recollection
That even We, powerful poets and rigorous rhymers that we are,
Can not recall
How tall
The Family Tree is.

Tell us this:
If rich we are
(Our knowledge extends far!)
And truth be told
Our family line is truly old
Then how is it that our collective history
Is such a mystery?

Climb the ranks within our most sacred society
And if you beg with much piety
We shall tell how the first stag
And the first doe, with a tail white as a two-legged's "I surrender!" flag,
Came together in love
guided by the Forest Spirits above.

Tell us a little about Faline's personality:

Never was there born a doe so pro
At creating harmony that even her perfect color pallet did show
The nature of her flawless melodies.
Others' jealousies
Caused her strife throughout her childhood days
But such green-eyed hatred could not change her ways.

She sings, and the birds fall silent
She speaks, and the wars stop so the Tyrant
Can listen, un-disturbed, to her knowing song.

She can do no wrong
She can do no right
(Though succeed she might.)
She is no Elder, though her soul is pure as new snow, her spirit aware
For too long has she spent concocting dulcet psalms, too long, I dare
To say, that her understanding has stunted her growth
Her heart rings true with empathy, so true that good and evil both
Exist in her.
There is no cure
For a perfect blend of two polar opposites has clouded her being.
Even without meaning,
Her melodious nature caused her to become
One with all, and all with one.

She is grace, she is gawky
She is humble, she is cocky
She is smart, she is naive
She is ignorant, she does believe
She is poor, she is rich
She is passive, she does b*tch
She is perfect, she is flawed
She is Follower, she is God.

She is Faline.

How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?:

We went away
One summer's day
When embers glowed
And many tears flowed
Cheeks flushed with pain
Eye shut, praying for rain
To wash away the coals that burned so bright.

Turning tree to ash and ash to dust
the fire consumed all within it's path; "Flee we must."
Our Prince's voice was firm, resolute
His Guard bowed their heads in salute
I lingered on, refusing to believe
He called me naive
He explained that were we to stay, the lives lost
Would out-number the seeds in their pods; Too great a cost
For our dwindling population to bear.
What did I care?
It was my home,
The only one I had ever known!
Yet insist he did
With a great cry, he bid
Me come with him.

I could not refuse.
How could I chose
Between the ashes of my former life
And the stag so full of strife
That he broke down and begged
Me, ME, this Prince of Ours begged me, to come away? His family pegged
His actions as naught more than the kingly deeds of one pure at heart
But I knew that there was more to it than that; No map-maker could chart
His reasoning, his misery, his desperate need
For me to heed
His frenzied pleas.

I left,
Bereft,
Yet leave I did
For he was mine, and I was his.

Name: Faline
Temper: Unsure
History: Faline was a beautiful Cerynei who was gentle and kind. All who met her loved her but there was only one problem. Though Faline was well liked their where others who did not look upon her kindly. There are many evils in the world and she was something that stood in the way of these evils. Because of her kindness she was an obstacle, like many of the other Cerynei to these powers that be and so was chased out of her Home. As she ran she tripped and fell. Twirling and hurling about she did not know what was going on, just that she couldn't stop rolling down the hill.

Suddenly she seen nothing but black. A few hours later she woke, to a terrifying site. Their where no trees or landmarks she recognized. None at all. Looking back up the hill she seen she had rolled down a long ways. On top of that hill stood the ones she called evil. Afraid that they might come down to finish her off, she fled away from the Forest. For the first time in her life, she seen beyond the forrest, into a new world she had never been curious to see. The forest she had called home for so long, was now a grave in her past.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: She is kind and gentle but it weary of opening up to others. Due to her tragic past she does not warm up to strangers welcome. So at first might seem a little standoffish.
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: Unsure would be the best word. Worried and scared.

Name: Faline
Temper: Soft
History: Raised with the same guidelines as those in her species, with the knowledge of her people. The trails of the forest all mapped out in their heads-passed generation to generation and Faline is one to understand the coverts and paths given to her by her mother-and her mother's mother before her. Everything her mother knew, she now carries within her-to pass onto her children someday. She knows the languages of the birds and the trees; knows the signals for those around her concerning danger. Every sight, every sound and every scent is taken into her senses and she knows what to do when trouble is presenting itself. Though sometimes that trouble is bypassed until the last moment-when quick action is needed and Faline steps into the role of mother for those who need it. In a paniced fright, everyone knows to follow faline en'route; for she knows where to go on instinct and will lead to safety. In her peoples eyes-she is guardian and mother, friend and fantasy.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: She distrusts going off the beaten trail of her normal life. She does not do things out of the ordinary or anything random-always precise and exact. She trusts nothing out of the ordinary; no sound... nothing. If she was was wary of something and was egged on to investigate she would simply tell them what she thought and go the opposite direction. She sometimes loses her temper and will go to far with what she says-but it is usually the truth.

How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: She refused at first. Leave her precious trails behind! Her safe land-where she could hide amongst the blackberries and avoid contact with anyone. Leave her home where she knew the perfect place to give birth to young, to sleep during the day... to die. She simply, absolutely refused-despite others words. Though at first, the though was pushed past her mind-soon things around her changed and she started to understand that-even though these lands were her 'own' and her peoples but soon-they would cease to be a home.

She eventually lowered her head and nodded her agreement to her fellow Cerynei. She will be frightened and nervous about moving.

Name: Faline
Temper: Regretful
History: Her life has always been about regret - for while her family contains one of the more revered bloodlines, they are envied, hated, but loved. While only distantly related to the royal bloodline, her family has always used the power of family ties to get what they desired. When the land was fresh and new, her family would put bid for the best pastures. Always they had a passion for jewels and accessories, and often took what they wanted or wheedled their way into getting it. Faline was born into this life, but instead of letting it taint her, she remained relatively clean. She wears no accessory because of this, content with her natural beauty and grace. From the time of her childhood, she had set herself with a certain amount of determination to be different from the rest of her family, her brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Faline is simple, as much as being prized for her beauty allows her to be. She's kind and tender, adoring all that is around her, the beauty of nature and the more uncomplicated pleasures of life. But, underneath her soft smiles and fond appraisals is a creature who lives and breathes regret. She's shamed by her family's history, and even her own actions as a fiilly, when she took advantage of other foals before she realized what she was doing was wrong. She's doubly nice now, as if to make up for her family's behavior.
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: She's not sure of her decision, and it's likely she'll always regret leaving the home she was born and raised in. She loves the forest, loved it before the fires ravaged it and ate up its beauty. She will always feel a connection towards her home, but even feeling that connection, she's ready to leave it behind. As much as she loves her home, her home wouldn't be the same without the friends and the family she grew up with. Faline may lead herself to regret her decision for some time, but ultimately will be happier with her herd.

Name: Faline
Temper: somber
History: Faline was once a proud Cerynei, proud of her heritage, of her agility, but mostly of the long flowing locks she once held on her head, always lovingly covered in beads and feathers, flowing behind her in a silken banner as she ran through the forests that was their home.. Some of the elders say it was her pride that brought the sickness upon her, the once strong and proud doe weak and tired from this unknown infection. As she slowly got worse, her family led her to a meadow, and had her drink from the mineral filled stream and eat nothing but the bitter medication herbs that grew there.

One morning, as she woke, feeling healthier then ever and her body feeling lighter then ever, she discovered that her once beautiful hair had fallen, as if in exchange for her health. To this day, she now rubs her head and neck against stones and branches, keeping her once long hair short as her fur, in honor of the spirits she felt gave her a second chance in exchange for vanity, thoroughly thankful for her second chance.

Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Still a little weak from her previous illness, she’s grown somber and reserved, but now focuses more on aiding others, and learning medicine to help keep others from suffering as she did from the wasting illness.

How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: Saddened to leave what she knew, and horrified that the meadow in which her life had been saved whither and die. However, she feels the spirits that helped her had moved on, and that they have led her here to continue their work.

Name: Faline
Temper: Submissive
History: Faline grew up with the other Cerynei foals, their loud and boustrous natures just overrode her own. It came to the point that she considered trying to raise her voice in a crowd futile and any attempts at conversation with someone trying to talk over her useless. Even her heritage didn't improve her standing in conversation. As a result, she spent her time mostly to herself with the forest for company for it was used to being as silent as she. That is until she learned that it did speak ...if one read the signs.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Faline is soft-spoken but intelligent. She has a well of knowledge eager to be dispersed but no ear willing to receive. She's a bit of a push-over when with peers, keeping her thoughts to herself
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: Faline was outraged to the point of wanting to give the others a good kick to the face for agreeing to leaving. She felt that there was something they could do if they only tried. However, she feels that she is part of the herd, tied to the Prince and his strong personality, rather than an individual so she reluctantly remains quiet and comes with them.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2009 6:37 pm

Name: Faline
Temper: Stubborn
History: Faline's family was rich with history because they were history. It was their job to tell about the Cerynei's past and they did it with honor, and Faline was no different. Since she was young, she had heard all the stories about the forest and the Ceryneis of past that had lived in it because it was known that one day it would be her turn to be the Past's Keeper. Now she stands proundly, telling the tales her family had told to her.
Tell us a little about Faline's personality: Faline is very sure of herself. She right 99.9 percent of the time and lets you know about it when you try to argue with her. Faline strives for perfection in herself and those around her, causing problems when others don't meet her exacting standards. She likes facts over emotions and thinks love comes after her responsiblity to the Cerynei. Feline doesn't like to fight but when pushed, doesn't back down from one either.
How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?: Faline hates leaving her beloved forests. What good would the Keeper of the Forest's Past be without the Forest for which her stories are about? She fears not knowing what will come but believes in the Prince. He is their hope, and Faline would follow him to the ends of the earth.

Name: Faline
Temper: Impassioned
History:
With nothing but the comforting green of the vibrant forest around her, Faline learned from the ones that were loved by the forest and loved the vast ocean of trees. The cerynei was raised to warship the wonders of the living world around her, enjoying the wonders of the moss filled environment.
Her family is from the long line of the ones blessed by the Woods. Her great grandmother was the first Priestess of the Forest, she was given that title because of her great knowledge of the forest lore and her unsurpassed skill in the art of healing . The king at the time, seeing that she would be a worthy cerynei, blessed her with the title and all her descendants after her if they so wished it. Lovely Faline is named after her benevolent grandmother, and wishes to walk in her grandmother’s hoof prints.

Tell us a little about Faline's personality:
Faline is one who listens more to the calm of the forest, but will speak up if she sees anything that would destroy that perfect sanctuary. She is loyal to those of her kind, and would do anything to help them, even if it puts herself at risk. Faline does not enjoy a materialistic life, she lives in the moment and loves what she has, never asking for more, unless it will help the ones that she loves.

How did she feel about leaving the forest behind, for a new land?:
Her heart breaks as she looks back at the forest, but she knows that even with her care, most of her lovely world would go up in flame. Faline's loyality to the others like her and her obligations to those less fortinate were the main reasons for her to leave the place called home. Her healing abilities could save many and her stories of the woods could keep many entertained. So her heart will be content helping those that need it most even at the extent of her own happiness.
