Mauli had noticed this as well, and muttered under her breath, pushing the mail slot out and looking outside. "Buck up, kiddos... I'm sure he'll be here soon." With a nod, she turned, pacing back and forth from the door to the space behind Calli and Tou. Stupid mail dude, keeping them all waiting... He had better hurry up, or she'd sic Pipp on his pathetic useless kneecaps! >D

Night sighed flipping through the letter. "I hope he's alright.." She mumbled under her breath sighing again. She looked up and saw Mauli. "Hey Mauli.." She said calling her softly. She smiled sadly hoping she would get her attention.

Tou thought about Calli, and how much she cared for her brother. She saw Mauli looking at the infant, and must've been thinking the same. What if Toby didn't write to Calli? What would she do ... ?

"Hmm?" Mauli stopped pacing, then stared up at Night intently. Turning back towards the door, she nods. "Be right back." Then, she raced towards Shiro's owner, sliding to a stop in front of her and balancing on her back paws while placing her front paws on Night's legs. "Yes ma'am..?"

Calli taps her tail on the floor in a rhymatic beat, trying to calm herself from bouncing with anticipation. She hated this.. why did these things seem to take so long?

Tou sighed, feeling sorry for Calli. She placed her paw on the infant's shoulder, hoping to comfort her a bit.
"It'll be ok, Calli. Toby'll be thinking about you, no matter what."

Calli accidentally jumps at the touch. She quickly smoothes her fur down. "Y-yeah, so I've been told.."

Night sighed once again. "About Shiro.." She said smiling sadly. "He wrote to me telling me to tell you that he's sorry for leaving.. and he says you could throw away the stuffed Penguin and Rose away that he gave you." She said sadly the smile on her face disappearing.

She moved her paw away quickly. "S-sorry, never meant to scare you." She yawed loudly, and thought of something to cheer up Calli, just a little.
"You hungry? I know you won't want to leave here, but I'll go find you something in the kitchen if you want?"

Mauli nods dumbly. In reality, she had already hidden the penguin and the rose... Somewhere where none of her destructive siblings could reach them. She wouldn't toss them, ever. But, of course, she didn't say so. Clearing her throat, she fell back on all fours, staring at the space between Night's feet. "Alright... Thanks, miss Night." With that, she spun, padding awkwardly back to the door and sitting beside Calli.

Calli shivers, deep routedly. "Nah, I'll be fine. I don't think there's any mail today anyway, the guy's usually here before now." She puts on a smile, nods, and goes on her way in a trying-to-hide-it saddened pace.

Tou watched Calli pace away slowly, but could tell she was still upset. She sat there at the mailbox, not sure what to do.

Mauli sighs silently, waiting until Calli was out of sight before butting the door hard with her skull. Then, she huffs, curling up beside it and burying her face in her paws. She'd stay there until midnight if she had to... But she would be there when Toby's next letter came, and the next, and the next... Until he finally came home, and then, she'd have words with him. Many, many words.

Night smiled sadly at Mauli. "You're welcome." She said watching Mauli walk away.

Shiro laid in bed quietly staring at the ceiling. He sighed, he turned over and closed his eyes trying to drift off to Dreamland but Ol' Ben's gruff voice aburptly woke him up.
"So 'Liz.." Ol' Ben said gruffly, "How is the lad's arm?" He asked a hint of sadness in his voice.
Shiro froze, he felt as if a huge lump was in his throat, his tried swallowing it.
Liz sighed "Dad.. I don't know.." She said her voice shaking. "He says he couldn't move his arm too well.." She said sadly. "I don't think it will heal up cmopletly.. I mean I don't think he'll be able to move is arm." She said her voice shaking more tan ever.
Shiro froze completly, he glanced down at his left arm and tried to move it but he couldn't the fingers weren't move nor would his hand. "Damn..it.." He cursed under his breath, he turned over on his side before standing up and walking over to the desk, he began to write a letter.
Dear Night,
How are you doing? I hope Silver didn't make much of a mess of his new room. I heard Elizabeth and Ol' Ben talking about my arm. It doesn't seem like I'll be ever to move my left hand again.. I hope everyone is doing all right. I hope Mauli's okay.. I feel awful for making her feel bad.. Just keep an eye on her for me, okay? Please tell me how she's doing.. I'm going to go to bed now.. G'Night.
