Ours likes to say 'Run it back!'
He says it's 'The last time!' but he just has to add another one.

InuyaShuron "From the top!" On a microphone, no doubt. ughhh the three words you least want to hear in marching band on a hot summer day after four straight hours of marching without any water... yeah, four straight hours. every 9 and a half minutes it was "well that was ok, but let's make it perfect this time. FROM THE TOP!" or when you're playing pomp and circumstance at graduation and so many people are walking that you end up playing it like 7 times from the top... *groan*

I fear "from the top" above all else, because somehow the drill always puts me 70-80 yards away from "the top," regardless of where we ended.

Our bds favorite words are definately "last time" although right when he says that, a friend and i bet on how many times this actually amounts to. average? 7. our assistant bds favorite words are "YALL GOTTA GET YUR DRILL BOOKS DUNE." i think she exaggerates her southern accent a tad. ...i hate drill books.

After we run something, our director usually starts with "Not good enough." Then he'll say some variation of "Do it again!" and we keep going and going because his other favorite line is basically "Earn your breaks!"

"Point the biscuits"
"DOOM!"
"You have three seconds to be in your spot otherwise we go from the top" At this line, everyone runs madly to get to their spot.
"Do it again"

Hahah yes.I play alto saxophone. When we recieve our drill charts, we all go to our first move spot, our band director stands up on that tall thing (can't remember what it's called) with his headset, and creates nicknames for the different moves in the drills. Such as "Smashed Mushroom" or, "Atarti" or, "Pizza Hat" or, "Sunrise" and "Sunset" (although we had different names for those two, they resembled a pair of something else to us...hehehe sweatdrop xp ) and he'll say "ATARI GET THERE!!!!" or whatever move we're doing. Good thing though is that he's a fan of short, frequent water breaks, if we meet his expectations during the last 30 minuets of repeating one move. It is ALWAYS "(insert move nickname here) GET THERE!!!!"Has anyone else noticed that band directors, when they want you to play a couple measures, they count backwards from somewhere when the measures are clearly marked with tiny numbers? Haha well mine does that, I don't realy mind it."Guys, count 5 back from 20"<-- Band director."Yeah..that'd be 15"*rolls eyes, smacks limp hand againts chest*<--Our one sarcastic, imature-for-a-senior percussionist.
