Prince took a gentle takeoff off the branch, usually he would do a much more dramatic one but he didn't want to send turbulent winds at Bell and accidentally cause her to have an accident. The pidgeot gave a slight nod at Bell's look and lead the way towards the lake which was only a few meters away.
He made sure not to keep too close to Bell to cause her any trouble with large wings but he was also careful not to stray too far away and offend the Delibird. Prince did this all while showing off - well, was it really showing off if this was his norm? - his large magnificent wings that were just groomed and in top condition.
Prince was a smooth flier, he never made any unneeded gaudy movements and his wing flaps were as quiet as an owl's. He needed to fly silently to sneak up on his prey after all.

In comparison, Bell was a rather messy flier. Her rather small wings did not have the soft fringes that allowed for silent flight, so she chopped the air noisily. She was not, however, impressed by Prince's display of beautiful flight. Bell was built more for swimming than for flying, and she knew that she could beat Prince in a water race any day. It was just the way it was, so she didn't mind her poor flying skills-- she used flight for transportation, not for fun.
Bell wondered briefly if she could convince Prince to try and swim in the lake, rather than bathe in the shallows. Pigeots were not meant for swimming, so he probably would refuse. She almost laughed when she imagined the huge bird splashing and floundering while Bell darted gracefully around him.

It didn't take long for the two bird pokemon to fly over the woods and make it to the clearing in the center of the forest with the crystal clear lake. Prince slowly descended towards the shallow depths of the water, making a small splash as he landed.

Bell swooped low, dropping her bag on the dry shore, before landing gently next to Prince. She gave him a rare smile (well, as much as a beak can smile) before paddling to a slightly deeper spot. Bell dipped her beak into the water for a quick drink before splashing water onto her back and wings in order to get cleaned thoroughly.
Bell was about to return to Prince when she spotted a Feebas dart by. Her eyes followed it greedily, but she did not make chase. Instead, she waited for the ripple to clear from the water and looked at her reflection. She was, undoubtedly, the most beautiful bird in the entire world. She tilted her head slightly so that the light caught it, making her markings stand out even more. She smirked, then preened the water out of her left wing.

Prince watched Bell in amusement as she showed off in the water. It was certainly more of her element than it was his. He dipped his beak in the water too to get a small drink and leisurely soak his feathers in the water.
"You look quite stunning Bell." Prince commented offhandedly as he began to slightly fluff up in the water.

"Thank you," Bell said, glowing. She had already known that she was stunning, of course, but it always cheered her up to hear someone else say it. She ruffled her feathers, splashing more water on them, so that she quite literally shimmered in the light.
"The water is, as you said, very nice." Bell really liked Nine's garden. The only thing that could make it better was if it were colder there, but then not as many berries could grow... In any case, it was quite relaxing.

So the two birds bathed in the water for a period of time. The sun slowly crept downwards in the sky as its beams reflected off the glistening waters of the lake. Prince took notice and decided it was time to depart. He found that women usually did not like long encounters, meetings had to be the perfect length: not to short as to make them think that he did not want to spend time with them but not too long as to make them annoyed by his presence.
"Ah, the sun is setting and I must return to my trainer before night sets. I trust you can find your way out my dear Bell?" Prince asked, hoping out of the water and shaking some of his feathers dry.

Bell, too, walked out of the lake and shook off. Before replying, she preened a few of her feathers straight. "Yes, I know the way," she said wryly. Then, more kindly, "Thank you for spending time with me, Prince. I enjoyed it."
Bell then waddled over to her bag and grasped it in one foot. "Let's do this again sometime," she said offhandedly.

Prince also set a few feathers straight while Bell was walking out of the lake, wet flying would be quite annoying if his feathers were both wet and out of order.
"It was my pleasure, and I would be honored to spend time with such a lovely lady again," Prince replied witih a slight head bow before flying off towards Katrina city.
((We should arrange another date for them later xD ))

Bell took off for a slightly different direction; though it was still towards town, it was on the poorer side, where her trainer lived. The delibird was looking forward to a nice long rest in her pokeball. Her mood was, oddly enough, rather good. Her day had gone better than normal!
