Eifa's eyes widened slightly at the comment, a blush slowly overcoming his face as his ears twitched before flicking back against his head, jaw dropping slightly. He blinked a few times, closing his mouth and pressing himself up against Dipaka, leaning his head on the centaur's chest and getting quiet for a moment as he listened to the other's heartbeat, slowly tuning the rest of his unheard of senses into the motions and movements of the male's body, shutting out the sounds of the outside world. He shivered gently against Dipaka's stronger body at the fingers running across his pale skin, as well as the cold that quickly swept the land as the sun nestled into its mountainous bed beyond the horizon.

Eifa let out a breath that he was unaware he'd been holding, one of his ears twitching softly against the centaur's chest, his green eyes falling shut. It wasn't really in his nature to be calm, but he was going to try for the moment, in hopes that it might work. 'Not always true,' he commented finally, drawing in a deep breath and releasing it slowly, trying to maintain some level of relaxation. 'In fact, it's not true at all. Like saying that a cattaur can never fall for anything but another cattaur.' He smirked softly. 'We all know that that's not the truth, after all. In our heart-of-hearts, we honestly wouldn't know the different between one or the other, male or female, foxtaur or wolftaur or... centaur,' he said, surprisingly eloquent in his speech as he nestled himself snugly against Dipaka, wrapping his arms tightly around the other's waist. It was getting rather cold out, wasn't it?

Dipaka nodded slowly. "It's just...I've never known any male who loved a male...or a female who loved a female.... Have you, Eifa?" he asked softly. He shivered in the dying light. It was getting cold and dark fast, and he had a small camp not far from here with warm blankets and supplies for a hot dinner, which both of them would doubtless want. But not right yet...not while they were still trying to sort themselves out and hold onto what they'd found in the sunset that neither of them had expected to find. This sort of thing...it made him wonder about what his parents had occasionally joked.

The heavens brought taurs together, for years to come, and though the fey light of fireflies brought fleeting relationships with a great deal of passion, it was what the heavens brought at odd times that really mattered, and that's why his parents had stayed together, despite flings with other centaurs. They'd always insisted they'd met under a full harvest moon, and met other centaurs with home they'd flirted and had flings while the fireflies were out. The setting sun...had it brought Eifa to Dipaka, and Dipaka to Eifa? Was the warm, dying sun trying to unite them in its own way? Or were the fireflies bringing them together? He thought he saw the first fireflies of the evening behind Eifa. He shook his head, smiling a little bitterly. Eifa probably already knew what he was thinking about, and right now was probably not the time to worry about any fireflies or sunsets. It was the time to worry about the little cattaur in his arms who would need more warmth very soon.

Eifa laughed a bit with a shake of his head, still purring a bit. 'Yeah, I have. My mother. Mum was always with other females, and she ended up settling for a cervitaur of all things,' he commented, a soft hint of laughter in his voice, looking up Dipaka with those emerald green eyes that seemed to be illuminated by the stars, each small spark glittering in the bright colour. He purred deeper, taking a step against the other and pulling Dipaka's arms to rest around his waist and lower back, pulling his own arms snug between the two of them for more warmth.

'You have a warm place to go...' he murmured softly, letting out a soft breath against the other's warm skin and shivering softly at the temperature. One of the few fireflies daring to venture out so early flitted toward the pair, settling down on Eifa's ear. He giggled girlishly at the tickley contact, actually making the gesture of laughing, before flicking his ear back, making the pesky thing fly back to where it had originally come from. He looked up at Dipaka with his ears tilted back, keeping a concerned thought on the inner conflicts of the centaur.

The black and white cattaur frowned softly and stood up on tiptoe, gently pressing his lips against Dipaka's, not stepping back before he 'spoke' to the other. 'It wasn't the fireflies, I'm sure of that much. There wasn't a single one out here when I found you basking in the evening's light, and you found me torn up over a menial little crush,' he commented, putting both hands on Dipaka's shoulders, but keeping his arms between the two of them for warmth. 'And if you don't believe me, just wait. You won't be able to get me off your mind, I promise,' the cattaur joked, a soft laugh breaking the thought process. In a way, it was just a flirty joke, but at the same time, he was completely serious. That was probably the one part of the cattaur that did not make a single lick of sense.
