It would seem that she had underestimated this Pokemon, however, Kunai knew that this would be the most worthy of the training partners for Prototype2. At the moment, she couldn't help but think of how boring this battle must have seemed to any superiors watching it. Since plan 1 didn't work on her end, she'd come back to it later. For now, she's settle for plan 2.
Bulk Up
Still under the water, the Mewtwo closed its eyes and flexed his muscles in both his arms and legs. He could feel himself growing stronger, but this would only just balance out what was happening above the water.

"Absorb!" Zinnia shouted, already going back to plan A.
Shadow Mew fired the green orbs into the water once more. She watched intently as her attack entered the water without making any ripples. How long could the Mewtwo remain under the surface?

Kunai had to wonder if this girl even knew what training was. As she watched the orbs float down into the water, the pink-haired Rocket gave a projected command to the underwater Pokemon.
Come out from under the water towards your left side, then spring another Water Pulse attack at your opponent.
Understanding the command, the Mewtwo sank to the bottom of the field, and used the ground to push against to spring back out of the water. Once more, he avoided having his energy stolen from him. Springing up behind the Mew at a point-blank distance, he sprayed more water in the shadowy Pokemon's direction.

Ouch! That had to hurt! "Absorb!" she called out.
Shadow Mew managed to recover herself after the devastating hit. She quickly created another round of green orbs and shot them at the shiny Mewtwo.

Perhaps plan 1 would be able to work for her this time. Kunai didn't move a muscle, but silently gave the command Toxic.
Perhaps this time it would work, since he was so close up to the opponent. Inhaling deeply, he then exhaled that same black gas from earlier towards the Shadow Mew.

"Haze!" Zinnia shouted. She sure was glad that Shadow Mew knew so many attacks.
Shadow Mew couldn't avoid the poison, but she quickly caused a black mist to envelope the entire stadium. As the mist faded away, so did her poison affliction and all of the stat boosts, including Prototype2's. Haze created a clean slate, and now Shadow Mew could go on.

Water Pulse while it is distracted.
While the mist was up in the air, the Mewtwo once more floated a small bit of water towards himself, then once the air cleared, he shot another pulse-wave through the water and sprayed it towards the other Pokemon.

"Absorb!" Zinnia shouted. She felt quite smart, having used Haze right after the successful poison attack. She did not realize that it might have only been a distraction.
However, Shadow Mew had suspected something like that to happen, and managed to dodge the attack fairly well. She still got a bit wet, though, and it was starting to bother her. She shot multiple orbs down at Prototype2.

It would seem that this training exercise was of much use. However, Kunai did have to wonder if this underling (as she viewed it) even knew the meaning of "adapting to the situation."
Water Pulse
Once more, he drew water up to his level and sent a pulse wave into the stream, spraying it towards the opponent.

Shadow Mew felt slightly confused. She slowed her flying a bit, just to be safe. She blinked slowly, showing no sign of her affliction.
Happily oblivious, Zinnia shouted, "Let's finish this fast! Absorb!"
Shadow Mew attempted to make the orbs again.

Kunai knew the battle would be over soon. Certainly, she did observe the Mew as it slowed itself down, however she knew that Prototype2 had generally taken more damage. There was no anger, nor was there any contentment with losing. It was a routine training exercise.
Water Pulse.
The Pokemon could also sense his master's lack of faith in him, but much like the girl, he could care less if he won or lost. He just knew the aspects of battle, both winning and losing. However, it was when it counted, in a mission, that he did his best. Attempting to take advantage of the fact the Pokemon had slowed down, he once more shot a water spray towards the opponent, actually pushing the green orbs away as they were formed, then pushing past to spray the Mew.

Shadow Mew felt her mind come back under control just in time to dodge the worst of the Water Pulse. She shook off some of the excess water; her already-dark coat was now pitch black due to all the water.
Zinnia could almost smell the victory, it was so close. She was the only battler in the stadium that seemed to actually care about the result of the training session. "Absorb! We can win!" she said in a way that would annoy most.
Patiently, Shadow Mew shot more balls of light at the Mewtwo.

He was not long to last. He could feel his strength being drained with the slightly glowing green orbs.
Figuring to change up the pace a bit, Kunai gave a different order to the Mewtwo.
Thunder
The energy around the green Pokemon crackled once again, and a bolt shot towards the Mew once more. Hopefully the opponent was still wet enough to conduct the electricity.

"Mirrormove!" Zinnia commanded, also looking for a bit of change.
Shadow Mew felt the jolt of electricity and expertly stretched out her long tail towards Prototype2. She hurriedly moves closer so that the tip of her tail just barely touched the Mewtwo. The electricity passed through her body and off the end of her tail, hopefully shocking her opponent and ending the battle.

Prototype2 felt the electricity course through his body, and as it ripped at his heart's muscles. Yet despite this pain, he let out no cries, physical or psychic. It was quite clear that he had been defeated this time around. Being the resilient creature he was, he used Recover to repair some of the damage done to his body, then landed himself upon one of the floating platforms. He kneeled down upon one knee to signal he had indeed been defeated in this training exercise.
Kunai knew what the action meant, and she spoke up, the first time since the exercise had begun.
"Training exercise complete." Her voice paused, then she added one suggestion for this trainer. "In an actual battle situation, healing is a way to ensure that you are at the advantage. However, I would suggest that you not rely so heavily upon it again in this training facility. The idea of training is to push your Pokemon to exceed the limits both of you thought it was capable of."
Though it would almost seem like a scolding, her tone was practically emotionless. Her body eased a bit and she spun her kunai knife about her finger once more. With her other hand, she unclipped the Masterball from her belt and aimed the red beam of light at the defeated Pokemon. "Return." The Pokemon was once more forced into his prison, to await another training exercise.
With the exercise completed, Kunai turned to leave from where she had entered from. There was no point to lingering when she could be entering important data into the database.
