Veaka was exploring that day. Espei had made himself nice and scarce. Good. She hated the annoying poe.
She had thought that she was exploring randomly, as she was wont to do, searching for travelers to trick and mess with.
But soon she began to realise that she was being drawn by a force as wild as the little kokiri witch.
Orina was actually the first to notice, but had kept her fairy mouth shut.

Veaka could have stopped the second she reaised she was being led somewhere, but she was too willful to be predictable, which made her jsut that-predictable.
She was curious now. She had thought she knew of all the wild things of the forest.
But...
Something, a wave of energy and wildness, energized the feral part of her being, and she leapt from branch to branch with renewed fervor, a green and yellow blur with a purple blur following behind.

He waited in the shadow of the tree, frozen in place, as the minutes ticked by. Still... nothing happened. Could it be that the intimidating magenta creature had missed him entirely? Letting out a long, relieved breath, the man grinned lopsidedly, rubbing his neck. Perhaps his plan to follow them would work yet...

The voices seemed to have ceased by now. Sounds like they've finally gone, the man thought confidently. Stretching out broad shoulders, he poked his head out, meaning to tag behind..... and to his chagrin and horror, met not only the same pair of staring pink eyes, but-- briefly-- the eyes of the other creature, a mischievous looking imp. They were all still there... and two had seen right through him?!

Ah, blast it all...

A light rustle came from above him, without warning. The man's gaze snapped upwards.... right into the piercing red stare of a black cat.

With a yelp, he stumbled back from his hiding spot, arms flailing. Tripping over the accursed tree's roots, he landed unceremoniously on his bottom in a pile of dry leaves, his bulk sending them whirling into the air.

Ignoring the ridiculousness of it all, the man gaped openly, one arm pointing unsteadily at the small animal. "Y-y-youuuuu! Not you again!!"
He had finally remembered that lanky, sinister form, flames bursting from its paws as fire shot up all around him... sure, it dried him off, but it had also given him burning nightmares for weeks.

"What d'you want now, cat?! I ain't tossing no more rocks at evil... nor crossing any rivers, damn you!"

Veaka saw a funny sight. A cat! an evil cat! Cats were not common in the woods.
And demon cats were, of course, far less.
Whatever it was talking about, it sounded like fun. Also, perching on shoulders.
She wished she was small enough to do that.
She jumped to a lower branch.
"Whats going on?" she asked staring at the cat.
She had just noticed the fire coming from its paws, and a little fear grew in her. Fire was scary, it burnt and scorched and destroyed trees, branch, bark, leaf, and anything else that got in its way. Her curiousity turned to wariness, and she readied herself for a quick leap away.
Orina, however, was silent.

((should I bring in Yoske? Should we say she's working for them at this point, Shini?))

Yoske was not comfortable at all. She was staying in the shadows, as her kind was wont, and felt almost itchy every time a leaf moved and light brushed her form... though she didn't know why, for she was covered in clothing. plus, being on foot on solid ground made her incredibly wary. Despite her skills, training, and her... uniqueness... She'd rather not be that exposed.
She liked cats- it was her clan symbol and it represented the Garo well. She did not have a good feeling about this cat, though she had never met the catastrophe cat.
She did not doubt that it knew she was here, But she'd rather not reveal her presence just yet. Plus, every second she did not appear was another second of annoyance to that poe Kaiba, which she was enjoying somewhat. He had a proper perspective on things.

Nope, this was definitely not a dream... though he wished it was. The same inky fur, the same bored, drawling voice, the inexplicable flames rising from its claws--

"Auuughhh!" ....Claws, indeed. The man lept to his feet, cursing as tiny needles wedged themselves into his shoulder-- and stayed there. "Blasted cat! Go...fight... your own evil!" he growled between clenched teeth, attempting to dislodge the animal. His cloak and baggage whipped about violently in the process. Of course, the infurating cat stayed there, and quite easily at that.

"You're the only 'evil' I see here! I'd gladly punt you over a waterfall in that case, problem solved! See how you like being the watery one." Resigning himself to the painful shoulder attachment, the man folded his arms atop his chest irritably. All he had wanted was to bust out of this place, get on with his business... but no. As usual, Fate worked against him relentlessly.

...Was this silly demon cat amassing an army or something, anyway? The man frowned as he noted the growing gathering in the forest. The pink creature prowled about restlessly, the mischevous imp and the human-- no, Hylian-- were conversing in whispers... and he could faintly sense movement from behind the shadowed trees. What sort of fool mission had the cat roped these unfortunate beings into this time?

"Look, cat. Whatever it is you're doing... knock yourself out. Have a merry old time. I got things to do..." Shouldering his pack with a grunt, his face uncharacteristically troubled, the man made to leave.

Yoske clenched her teeth. This wasn't good at all. Well, what was?
She hid her sharp, curved knives in her sleeves, ready to take them out if need be.
She moved closer to Triton and Kaiba, ready to come to their aid from the trees if need be.
It seemed that they had gotten themselves into a mess, and she knew that it would be quite a job to get out alive/unalive/still corporeal/etc.
in one piece is probably more apt she thought to herself, shuddering at the faces in the flames.

((Am I allowed to do double posting? Veaka and Yoske represent two totally different main characters and I thought it would be helpful to keep them apart. If I bring in Espei he'll be in Veaka's posts and If Yoske gets a pet and I bring them in, They'll be in Yoske's posts.
