Xiu nodded. “Could be but…are they really worth the trouble though?” said Xiu more to himself than to the eagle raevan. Finding dates for their guardian was becoming ever more confusing. It was apparent that dates were a very desirable thing to have for Valentine’s Day but if they were that popular; shouldn’t the supermarket just…sell them or something? Xiu frowned slightly. Curious things; these human practices...
They had by this time reached the stall where the helpful salesperson was and as she watched the two raevans approached, a smile could be seen lengthening with across her features. “Welcome back,” said the salesgirl to Xiu before looking over to Dayo with amazement. “Wow, that’s a lovely looking …umm…girl you have there. Is she with you?”
“You mean Dayo?” asked Xiu turning to give the brown haired raevan a glance. “Well, yes. She’s with me,” said Xiu giving the salesperson a slightly confused look. Dayo after all, was floating along with him the whole time since they have met so that rather obvious statement made by the chocolate selling woman before him was a puzzling in itself but that puzzle would have to wait. Right now there were more important things at hand.
“Dayo and I would like to know more about this ‘Valentine’s Day’ and umm…dark places to go for dates,” said Xiu remembering Dayo’s suggestion that perhaps ‘dates’ were things that liked the dark.

(( I'm hoping it's okay for me to GM the salesgirl here. XD ))
Dayo's frown dimmed with curiosity at the salesgirl's growing smile as the duo approached the seasonal section she was stationed at. The air around her had a taste more like boredom than happiness, so why was she smiling? It was by far not the first time she'd seen people with expressions that didn't match up with their feelings, but the sight never ceased to be bizarre.
Oh well... Xiu was so calm and smart that if he said this woman could help them, he must be right! So she nodded in enthusiasm, staying quiet for now since the other Raevan seemed to have control of the situation.
The salesgirl briefly allowed her eyes to trail downward, following the forms of the two... floating people. She didn't want to believe it, but both of their bodies abruptly stopped far before the necessary regions to make a date in a dark place worth going to. She piped out another bubbly laugh, responding, "Well, if you want to go on a date with someone it's always a good idea to pick a place that both of you think you'll like!"
Dayo tipped her head to the side, puzzled. "Wait, go on a date? So it's something you have to ride?"

The salesgirl stared at the female being (at least she hoped it was a female) who had just spoken and the slightest trace of a frown presented itself. For one who looked…well, old enough to know what a date is, she was being awfully naïve…or ignorant. The white haired male beside her was no better but…service with a smile right?
“Well, you could ride on a date,” admitted the salesperson slowly as she glanced down once again to where the duo’s torso abruptly ended. “But with the two of you, controlling the gas paddle might be a little difficult. Perhaps a day by the park or the lake might be more…suitable for the kind of dates you are looking for,”
Xiu listened intently to what the salesperson had to say before turning to Dayo. He’d have to make this quick as he was supposed to be home a good half hour ago. Hazeline might be worried if he tarried any longer. “Shall we meet at the nearby lake then? The one beside this shopping center at the bronze statue of some old person holding a dove? Sorry Dayo but I really have to go now. I look forward to meeting you then,”

Wow... so a date could have a gas pedal? Mouse just had to get one now, she loved that sort of thing, and Dayo loved riding shotgun in those sorts of things! Her wings twitched and ruffled with her radiating enthusiasm, the Raevan bobbing her head in a rapidfire nod at Xiu's suggestion. "Awesome! I'll, like... I'll bring Mouse there at sunset on Valentine's Day, okay?"

A few days later...
"Dayo- slow down- what the hell's gotten into you today?!"
Mouse could barely stay on her feet with how her charge was dragging her across the house, that grip and those claws threatening to break and cut her arm. Despite how much she wanted to be concerned or confused, she was caught in Dayo's haze of excitement and bliss. She felt like a kid on Christmas morning, and there was a tinge of anticipation on what the Frei had in store for her.
She was practically thrown into her own closet at the eagle girl saying, "You gotta put on something nice first. Come on, hurry up!"
The mechanic was quick to comply - whenever Dayo got worked up like this, she always had so much trouble refusing any request she made of her, revelling in the emotional high. So, after rummaging through her closet with spastic hands, she pulled out the nicest thing she owned that wasn't grease-stained or ripped.
A suit.
The bits of her that were still rational were glad that Dayo didn't know enough about the world to ask.
About twenty minutes later, Mouse was standing out of breath at the statue, her Raevan having fluttered off after stammering something about a date and wishing her good luck.
The mechanic was wearing a wide grin. Her Raevan was setting her up on a surprise date? That was... surprisingly thoughtful! She couldn't help but be proud... and hope that being in men's clothing wouldn't ruin it. It had been a long time since she'd gone out with anybody.

“Hey Xiu, slow down a little won’t you?” asked Hazeline as she tried to keep pace with the white frei. “There’s still some time left,”
“True,” said Xiu “But it’s always best to not keep the other party waiting,”
“Can’t argue with that logic,” replied Hazeline.
“And besides, we must get a head start if Dayo’s guardian and you are to have a date,”
“A what?!” exclaimed Hazeline as she stared at her raevan with horror.
“A date, Hazeline. Don’t you know? Today’s Valentine’s day and you are supposed to have a date today,” said Xiu quizzically. “ Dayo’s guardian did not have a date and …I assumed you didn’t either so Dayo and I…we agreed to meet today so that the both of you could have dates for Valentine’s Day,”
“Oh Xiu! But I hardly know Dayo or her guardian! I had just assumed that…it would be a casual meeting of sorts!” exclaimed Hazeline horrified. “And besides, I’m not dressed for a date!”
“But you look as presentable as you usually are,” replied Xiu a little surprised at his guardian’s outburst. “Isn’t that enough?”
“No, Xiu,” said Hazeline shaking her head. “Wearing a simple skirt and blouse is not what one would usually wear for a date,”
“Umm…well… we could return home and get changed?” suggested Xiu a little worried at his guardian’s frantic look.
“No, Xiu. There isn’t enough time,” said Hazeline as she checked her watch. Sighing Hazeline squared her shoulders and prepared herself as best as she could. Perhaps Dayo’s guardian would be just as unprepared as she was and perhaps the both of them could then have a few laughs over the antics of their raevans. Yes, that had to be it. However, at a distance, Hazeline could already see a figure dressed in a suit waiting by the statue. At this, Hazeline’s heart skipped a beat or two. Oh dear, oh dear…
“Umm…well, see you later Hazeline and good luck,” said Xiu stopping in mid float.
“You are leaving me?” asked Hazeline incredulously.
“Erm…yes, that was what we had agreed on…,” replied Xiu uneasily before thrusting a box of chocolates into Hazeline’s hand. “For your date to give it to you since I can’t and…see you later, Hazeline,”
And with that, the white Raevan was gone, leaving behind a very confused guardian. Taking a deep breath, Hazeline walked up to the figure in the suit. “Are you…Dayo’s guardian by any chance?” enquired Hazeline trying to look as confident as she sounded.
