The corner of Cane's full mouth lifted in a smile and he took the wood pieces from Weiyuan, nodding as the boy specified his needs, however, after receiving instruction, he headed Scyeth's way, rather than start immediately. It'd take a little time to carve the wood, so he might as well see what the blonde was up to before getting down to it.
"Of course, Scyeth." Cane glanced down at the pipes before meeting equally blue eyes with his own. "I have done much metal work."

Scyeth blinked, almost surprised when Canaan returned to his side so quickly. The youth cracked a grin and motioned his master-minded plan, which was a sketchy illustration with lots of notes at best. Scyeth was a military genius, not the next Van Gogh. "You see what I am trying to do?" he asked, crouched over the metal frame he was starting to assemble. This part was easy. Twisting and screwing.
"But how would I attach the wood?" he frowned. He wanted it to be light, but it needed to be strong too. "Would power tools help?" Usually, Scyeth was all gung ho to try the first idea that popped into his head, but this was a competition, and he didn't really want to lose, especially to the likes of Weiyuan.

"Yes. We can easily punch a hole in the metal, attach a nut or washer to the inside of the pipe, after we put a screw through the wood. We need washers on both sides of the screw to stabilize." Cane nodded slowly, before casually mentioning to Scyeth something he believed was fair.
"If you would like to continue with basic assembly, I can locate the tools needed, while I carve these pieces." He was, in fact, continuing to whittle and shape even as they spoke.
[woops, my bad. xD sorry Kaitsu, I'll leave this up as my post for next time, I suppose, seein as Cane'd have nothin in particular to say to Wei, anywho]

The eldest of the three smiled at the darker male as he left. So far things were going well, Scyeth was keeping his mouth shut and Canaan wasn't really a horrible person. Thank goodness for this relief, he didn't know how well he would've handled Scyeth on his own. The brunette was starting to get on his wits end, between weening himself from the mall crowd and getting back into the school rhythm, he felt exhausted.
It was a good thing to go with these interactive sorts of classes, it had been a long while since he had to sit still and calmly take notes. It was a tempo he had forgotten but knew that he could regain easily. The body's memory was strong.
Wei easily finished the base, he guessed that being so naturally quick-handed was a blessing in this case. He glanced up at Scyeth's project, it was turning out well. This was going to be fun.

"Sounds good to me," Scyeth said, nodding before he settled down on the floor. They were building war machines, now was not the time to be fussy about getting his uniform dirty. The blond set to work, screwing and twisting pipes together until he had a basic frame. He didn't call Canaan over until he selected all the wood pieces he wanted (which was a lot, a catapult had to be a decent size if it wanted to be worth anything.....yes, even in a classroom).
"Hey, Cane, when you're done with Wei, I need you to get back over here."

Canaan nodded absently as he approached Weiyuan, several pieces of shaped wood in his large, calloused hands. Offering them to the older boy, his grin was charming. "Here, Weiyuan. I will be back shortly."
After that, he was all about Scyeth, squatting down at the blonde's side with the washers, nuts, bolts, power drill et all. Raising dark, sculpted brows his next nod was appreciative.
"Direct me." Was all he said. It was good for Scyeth to be in charge. After all, that's what he was going to do with his schooling, wasn't it? Lead people?

Weiyuan gave the darker male a nod of appreciation. Picking up a piece of sand paper he began to smooth out his newest project. It wasn't completed, no, not by a long shot. There were several tweaks that he needed to do for it be a true ballista.
Every missing detail was listed in his head, and every new detail was being added as he sanded his precious. Oh Scyeth, this was just a bit of payback. He meant no real harm.
He just wanted to...scare him.
There was a devilish glint in those steel orbs and the brunette's hands were growing an itch. An itch to get that slight bit of satisfaction that came with revenge. He moved towards the scare, pretending to measure a block his was going to cut, but in reality he was measuring his ammo. Numbering each one so that he could properly calculate the trajectory.
Returning to his spot, he began to make the calculations, being very careful to not reveal too much of his intentions. Though the closer he got to his moment of truth, the sloppier he could feel his actions becoming.
Slow Weiyuan Slow.
At last he finished what was to be done. His calculations must've been checked at least five times. There was a demon smirking inside of him and though he's be 'taught better', Weiyuan couldn't care less.
He pretending to be fixing his trigger, adjusting the spring just ever so slightly. With a slip of the hand, his bullet slip into place and Weiyuan released the trigger, watching his wooden revenge fly past Scyeth's head. 2 millimeters from striking his face. He wondered if the blonde could feel that. "Oops."
