"All I clearly know about the dream, is that I was called 'Sleipnir'" Zavier admitted, "I am really curious why the name in my dream is different from my current name. Especially since it turns out Sleipnir was a very fast horse. Those answers will come in time, though."
Watching the smile fade from Meli's face was painful enough, but also seeing her forced to say things she didn't want killed Zave on the inside. He didn't want to make her be strong for him.... but he knew as soon as he asked her the question, she would be the one to try and bear that burden for him. There were no words of gratitude he could express that would even begin to pass along what he felt about her. There were parts of the dream he couldn't explain to her. How he knew that all the raevans were someone else before they became who they were. Just like he was called 'Sleipnir' before or why she was so drawn to that mansion they visited before. If Aki hadn't told Meli, there had to be a reason. It wasn't his place to break that part of the girl he loved.
The sensation of her lips on his hands, brought a small tingle through Zave's body, but it didn't seem so wrong or so embarrassing, as somewhat bittersweet. The fact that she would wait for him, made his feelings for her swell even more. He had to press his luck a little and tell her about the part that was bothering him most.
"There is one thing that I'm having trouble with." Zave pressed softly. "... I've found the relic of fire, and have some ideas where to go for the wind.... however, the Relic of Light? I have no clue where to even begin to look for that." It felt like the words were a cascade. God, this is going to sound corny Zavier's ears turned bright red as he prepared to say the next part.
"I thought, maybe you could help me search for it? You've always been like a star for me. Shining bright in the darkness to keep me on my path. And... when it does come time for me to search for the answers alone, I do ask you'll wait for me here? So even if I get lost, I won't be afraid, as I know you'll guide me safely back home to you."
Remembering all the movies he saw of how they did it, Zave gently lifted Meli's head up with his hands, before leaning forward to give a drawn out kiss on her soft lips. The air around him felt almost electric at the sensation, and the light seemed more vibrant than ever. He regretted the fact he had to pull away eventually, once again moving forward and pressing his forehead on hers.
Blushing furiously, but maintaining a warm smile, Zave bore his heart to her. "As surely as winter becomes spring, and spring becomes summer; we will change our appearances. However, I hear the song you're silently singing, I can feel you with my everything, and I swear I will never forget you. After all, how can I forget? You are the one that has stolen my heart. The one I love."

Pasha’s lips parted, her mind full of images and words. Sleipnir? The relic of fire? So much she didn’t understand, all tumbling in her thoughts like wind caught petals. She wanted so badly to be there for Zavier, to tell him that she would find what he needed, and guide him wherever he wished to go…but could she? Suddenly, Melisande felt dreadfully small. What could she do, really, but wait for him?
She dropped her eyes, trying to fight the rising worry. It was as though they’d just found each other again, and now she faced losing him once more. Pasha smiled at his sweet words, but didn’t lift her eyes until she felt his hands upon her cheeks, tilting her face upwards.
His expression was so warm, so unexpectedly gentle, that Melisande could feel her doubt melting away. Her blue eyes went wide for just a moment as he leaned in, fluttering shut the moment their lips met. One of her hands settled gently against his chest, over his heart, as she melted against him. Her tumbling uncertainties vanished, and for the first time in her young existence, Pasha was at peace. Her wings furled at the feeling, Zavier’s kiss filling her with an almost intoxicating inspiration.
As the kiss ended, Melisande realized she was smiling. Gently, she pressed an extra, tiny kiss to the corner of Zave’s mouth, taken by the feel of his lips against hers. Her eyes stayed closed as he leaned his forehead to hers, a curious warm feeling settling in the center of her like a patch of sunlight. Something in the muse had changed, awakened, and she soaked in his words as though they were food for her very spirit.
Zavier’s final words left her with a glow that rivaled the kiss. Meli lifted her hand from his chest, settling it gently around the back of his neck. Her fingers tangled in his white hair, keeping him comfortably close. ”Let it change, then. All but the love part.” Her smile was small, but sweet with confidence, and for once Meli felt as though she could lift him up, rather than hold him back. ”No matter what we face, I promise that’s one thing that will never, ever go away.”
Her wings folded slowly, the drift pulling her back the slightest bit. She felt focused, engaged, capable…things she couldn’t recall from the years before. Zavier had a quest, and her confidence in him echoed…a divine inspiration that illuminated the path ahead. Meli’s hands found his, and their fingers laced, the wide world around them narrowed to the rooftop and nothing more.
”We’ll find answers to all your questions, Zae.” She used the nickname she’d given him when they were younger, blue eyes bright. ”I’ll help you find your relic! And some day, when it’s summer again, we can come back here and see where we’ll go next.” Her hands tightened on his, blossoms full in her pale hair. It had the ring of a promise to it, lyrical and light.
”I can’t wait for that day!”
