Foxtrot glared at Plumgaze for a few seceond before turning away and meing to him.
"Right, you sleep in a little longer, and then we can have you and another warrior change out the nursery bedding and medicine cats. We dont have apprentices to do that right now. They're busing hunting."

He nodded to the cats who were up.
"We should head off. I think we could hunt near the Thunderpath. Its been quite latley, so prey might be tempted to come out more near there since we've been scouriung other parts of the territory."

Berrysnow frowned. Missing warriors? Its never a good sign.
"I'm gussing a search party is being organized then? I'd be more than willing to help. We cant speare any warrior at a time like this. I just hope nothing bad has happened..."

Crescenthallow nodded, prey liked to dart across Thunderpath a lot for some reason. Which was strange because the grass seemed greener on Thunderclan's side. Either way if monsters aren't about they should be even more than willing to scramble about over there and be ready for a good picking by hunters. Stretching her back she padded closer to the camp entrance, waiting for the deputy to lead the patrol out.

Flicking an ear she tried to listen to see if Thunderclan or Windclan were up and Adam like they were. As always though she couldn't hear the sounds of the other clans and gave up. Smiling brightly she waved around her rarely still tail like a flag. Nothing to go wrong today~!

"Just kidding." Plumgaze mewed hastily. He shook the dried moss from his pelt and joined the rest, trying to look game for the patrol even though his toes were threatening to freeze. "No need get your fur in a knot." he muttered once Foxtrot's back was turned.

Hunting at the Thunderpath sounded like a good idea. The sun shone weakly through the wispy clouds, yet that brief shine would warm the black Twoleg stuff right up. Mice may be stupid, but even they knew the benefits of basking.

His mouth started to water at the thought of lolling, sunwarmed mouse; he sheepishly licked his lips and looked towards Foxtrot, hoping the deputy wouldn't condemn him to moss duty for his joke.

"It's Linnetsong." Spiderheart bounded over to his mate. "She's... gone..."

Thankfully, his other kits were still around, but it was still devastating. He rested his head on her shoulder, without thinking.

"But we'll find her. Don't worry." That was the first optimistic thing he said since he found out. Though he doubted his own words a bit, he tried not to show it. He didn't want to appear like a weakling in front of Fishertail now. Even though he was doing so earlier.

Brambleclaw glanced at the other warriors that were coming out. Including a clumsy Crashsmoke to whom he explained the situation.

"You can help. I'm just organizing a patrol to find a missing warrior." He told him and wistfully looked at the small fresh kill pile. He would've liked to snatch a mouse to fuel him, but maybe someone else would've liked it. Besides, he could eat on the patrol if he needs too.

"If that's it for warriors who wants to join, we better get a move on then." He announced before padding towards the entrance.

Blinkchase already shivering from the could, since she had a shorter than normal pelt. But she glanced at Foxtrot, waiting for them to take off. The sooner they get this over with, the sooner she can be back with a full belly and warm bed.

Twilightblaze watched as her brother toppled over a few cats before stumbling over to her side. She remained silent as Spiderheart explained what was going on to Crashsmoke, waiting until the tom left before whispering to her brother. "He believes it was the work of Shadowclan so we maybe going over there..." As she spoke she hinted to the fact she wasn't only going out of the goodness of her heart. If this was her only chance to get over there damn it she was taking it.

"Your not going to catch anything like that kitten." Midnightflight made his presence known for the first time to the gathering group, moving over to his daughter and licking her face with a purr. "Patrol could always use some extra paws, so we'll both go...Daddy, daughter time." He smiled brightly. He was so proud of her....

Now Frostbite understood. Linnetsong was missing, which would explain why Spiderheart was so upset. She wanted to go on the patrol all the more now, to make sure things were okay. She hoped no one would act too hastily and waste time getting into fights...
She stood up, ready to leave.

Swiftclaw paced around the entrance impatiently. He was up, now he wanted to go use his energy.
"Well are we going to go, or what? Prey aren't just going to hand themselves to us."
As he spoke, he was already inching out of the camp and towards the thunderpath.

Foxtrot flicked his tail to gather the cats, and padded out of camp. Mud was frozen underpaw, causing his pads to scrape againt rocks stuck in the ground. Snowfall wasnt too bad, but it did cling to his paws. His purple eyes scanned the territory. It was quiet...almost ominously quiet. A couple of birdcalls could be heard far off, but other than that, all one could hear was pawsteps in the snow.

He twitched his tail in warning as the patrol began to near the Thunderpath, its now frozen tang reaching his nose. He scented the air carefully, picking out the scent of fresh mouse against that of stale frozen frog.

Berrysnow bounded after Brambleclaw, her colored tail helt at head leavel so her charm didnt drag in the snow. She kept her mouth open, scenting for any trace of Linnetsong. she had to be around here somewhere. For now, she was content with following the others and providing support.

As the patrol began to move out, Plumgaze fell into hunting mode. The dark mud and gloomy atmosphere of the swamps meant his black pelt was nearly invisible during greenleaf, but now, with bright white snow littering the ground, he felt conspicious as a mouse in a denful of cats.

He stopped short when Foxtrot waved his tail. Ugh. How could Foxtrot smell a thing with that frog in the air?

Fishertail pulled her lips back in a snarl and sharply pulled away from Spiderheart. "You...!" she roared, the light of battle in her eyes as she glowered at her mate. "How could you let this happen?" Her paw was up, claws fully unsheathed, ready to strike - but her cry of anger faded to a soft keening, and she lowered her claws, trembling.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Fishertail turned away from Spiderheart. "My kit..." Their kit. Oh, StarClan, she did not deserve Spiderheart. Was this their punishment? And Linnetsong - she couldn't be gone. It wasn't possible.

She seemed to have forgotten the rest of the patrol was there. If Spiderheart had gone just then, she would have forgiven him. He would be right to go.

Crescenthallow made a face at the smell of the Thunderpath, well, at least it didn't smell as foreign and strong as it usually did. Keeping her body low to the ground she began to search for any scents of prey as well. Fewd fewd fewd~ She twitched an ear, it was so quiet... The fur on her back laid down flat as she rose for a few moments. Ugh, this felt almost impossible and she just started hunting...

Frostbite followed in silence, taking in everything with her watchful gaze, but making no comment. Her ears were pricked and her nose twitched trying to find any signs, but it seemed impossible to pick up anything.

Swiftclaw broke away from the group, making sure not to wander too far. He figured it would be easier to find prey if he was by himself. Besides if he made any mistakes, no one would see, although he didn't think he needed to worry about that.
But as he searched, he couldn't find any prey. He hoped the others were having better luck...

Drifttail had hung back, surprised to see so many others on the dawn hunting patrol. He himself preferred this time, and in fact often volunteered for it. Most of the camp was silent and the world seemed almost fresh and new - though the trampled mix of frozen mud and snow somewhat spoiled the effect. Not to mention he could be up and out of the camp before... Before most other cats.

A soft splash caught his attention and his ears twitched, jaws opening to drink in the smell more clearly. Against the stale scent it was hard to be sure, but he thought that had been a rather more alive frog, and - yes, it wasn't too far behind them. The creature must have thought it was safe and broken cover. He started to make his way toward it, moving carefully to avoid breaking through the crust of ice, then glanced back to see if any of the others had spotted it too. He wasn't the kind of cat to compete for a kill.

Crashsmoke gasped as he was told what was happening. He blinked for a moment worried about just what he had volunteered to help with.

"I should ask one question at a time from now on."

Crashsmoke's ear twitched as he heard his sister speak, his body acted like he hadn't heard anything, but he whispered in reply. "What if it comes to a fight?" Without saying anything more he got up and followed Brambleclaw to the entrance. He stumbled of over a few roots , but he was less clumsy when he was concentrating on a certain task. "I hope she is ok!"

Sometimes her father embarrassed Rumsplash, but she loved him for it. "I think I would do better hunting. If for any reason a fight started I'm not going to be awake enough to do anything. Come on daddy let's go hunting with the others! Hailfreeze and Longtail need all the food they can get and so do the sick cats." Rumsplash said touching her tail to her father's side.

Rummy chased after the group she had fallen behind of. She hoped her father would follow, but this was also her chance to make good with the other clan members. She watched carefully for prey and Foxtrot's instructions, the Thunderpath made her nose flinch and yet it smelled so familiar. "Hopefully I can catch more then a frozen frog this hunt" Rummy whispered more to herself then anyone else.

Blooddusk followed the rest of the patrol, long since used to the cold bite of ice under paw. The group seemed rather large for an early morning patrol, she thought, then chuckled softly to herself. Despite the complaints, ShadowClan still sent out a large force to replenish the freshkill pile.

She scented the air cautiously, almost unconsciously breaking away from the rest. It would take quite a bit to get the former loner to be used to hunting among other cats. She made sure to stay within sight of the rest, but she crept to the Thunderpath where the stone had eroded away to create little burrows under the Thunderpath. A mouse cautiously peeked out of one and scrambled onto the stone. She grinned and crept towards it.

Luckily, Foxtrot and Blooddusk were not after the same mouse. He crept forward, body close to the ground. His claws slid out and he licked his muzzle in concentration. He judged the distance for a moment, then sprang.

The mouse hung limply from the deputy's jaws and he padded back to the main patrol and covered the freshkill with some soft earth. He nodded to the patrol as a signal to spread out and find what they could. He couldnt afford to say anything right now, as there was prey about, and so much as a crinckle of leaves could disturb the prey.

Berrysnow didnt do much other than follow the main body of the search party, observing the landscape, and tasting the air every so often for a lead on the missing cat.

Blooddusk paused, watching the mouse intently; it had no idea she was there. However, as she sprang, the mouse scurried away. Desperately she scrambled, holding it down with her claws while she bit it quickly. She glanced around, embarrassed that any cat might have seen her near miss. I may not be watched all the time anymore, but I ought to act like it. There's the clan to think of. As she scratched dirt over the freshkill, she peered over the border, ducking as a monster roared past. All seemed quiet--ThunderClan was probably still snoozing in their dens.
