Seeing Lumin freeze at her letting him make a move, she giggled in her mind at him, cracking an amused grin. Okay watcher boy, I'll help you, she thought.
Choppi reached into her pouch hip pocket and pulled out her own special brand of poketreats. The mixture was all organic, and she was trying out a new formula whenever she got the chance. These particular ones were unwrapped for sound prevention, and after breaking them up a bit in her hand, she lightly tossed them aways from the pair. They rustled against the bush as they made their way down, attracting the attention of the female. Ears rose and she made way, not looking at the two watchers, but interested in the promise of more interesting food.
Holding her breath now, she was hoping that Lumin could get a clear view of the shinx.

Lumin smiled sheepishly at the more experienced watcher then turned back to where she had thrown the treats. His eyes widened as he saw the Shinx draw closer. He had never been this close to a wild Pokemon, having never had his own. He slowly pulled his sketchbook from his pocket, it had a hard cover, so as not to make any noise, silence was one of the things he already knew he'd need. His other hand, just as slowly reached for the other pocket and the pencil it contained. His eyes were wide and glassy, his mouth hanging open, he was sure that this was a moment that couldn't be topped.

The shinx nibbled at the food happily, his tail wagging back and forth as it ate. Noseing around a few pieces, it then scarfed them down. Really enjoying the treats, the female let a few sparks of joy flitter from her body. The male's ears perked up, and he moved in closer towards the food there. She seemed to be saving him some.
"Shiii! Nnnneee." She convinced him to join her, and he did so. Happily wagging his own tail behind him, stuffing his face with the food.
Choppi watched and stifled another giggle. Glancing back she spotted Cassie still munching away on a bush, that had now half the foliage it did before. Rolling her eyes, she peeked over Lumins shoulder. Was he sketching yet? She wanted to see.

Lumin put the pencil to the paper and began to draw the scene before him. He hadn't brought any colors along with him, but he drew enough black and white pencil sketches that he could more than manage. He began by sketching the female as it ate, then, when he was satisfied that he had captured enough of her, he moved on to the newly arrived male. He was a mild perfectionist, and insisted on drawing even the minor details of the rapidly disappearing food on the ground. He hardly noticed the gym trainer as she looked over his shoulder. A rare smile came to his face, one like the one that he wore when he saw an excitingly unique Pokemon in the Pokecenter, or not too long ago when he had finally saved enough to buy his first sketchbook. There was nothing that could make him forget this moment.
He went on to draw the minute details of the fur, the reflective nature of the eyes, even the tiny sparks that jumped through the Shinx' fur. His two sided pencil, his favorite kind, had a soft artist's tip on one end, and the other was a hard detail sketcher. He pulled the little eraser from his pocket to clean up the details, then went on to his soft for the things around the Pokemon. He noticed a pair of Pidgey in the distance, beautiful in their simplicity, he knew from sketching numerous ones in the Pokecenter, but these were too far away to tell much. He knew that this would be a memory that he would never lose. The memory of his first wild sketch.

Choppi inhaled a gasp of amazement at the sketch, no, the masterpiece that he had drawn. Giggling very quietly, she patted him on the shoulder and used her other hand to signal a thumbs up. He really had skill for this, and in no time, he could master the art of sketching on location! Winking at him, Choppi reached in her hip bag for more treats. Tossing them a bit a ways, the Shinx couple chased them, seemingly not worried that they food appeared out of nowhere. Pushing some of the food into his hand, she kneeled and signaled for him to do the same. It was time to make watching more than just that. It was time to meet the models!

Lumin looked at the Poketreats in his hand, then back up at the trainer that had given them to him as he forced a half smile, he just knew he was going to end up scaring them away. His hand shook a little as he threw the little handful. He squeezed his eyes shut as it flew, after a second, he peeked to see that one of the Shinx had left the other pile to eat at this one, apparently making it easier to share. Lumin's crooked smile came back a little bit. He had done it. He grinned up at the other watcher, a silent thank you on his face.

Lumin looked up at the sky, it had been a little past lunch when they had set off, and the trek up had taken quite a while, and the sun appeared to be beginning to set. He didn't really want to be out here after dark, Zubat were not his favorite of Pokemon, so he thought that it might be a good idea to head back. He looked back down to see that the Shinx appeared to have had the same idea. He looked up at the experienced watcher, "I think it's time to go back.. for me, anyway. Are you going to stay up here?"

"Well, can you get back by yourself?" Choppi tilted her head and made her ponytails flop all silly. "If you can then I suppose I'll stay." Jerking a thumb at her pokemon still munching away at the bushes not too far off she giggled. "Cassie will be mad if she has to leave just yet."

Lumin looked around, he wasn't likely to get home before dark, and while he wasn't a coward, he was very much aware that going that far in the wilderness without any protection, particularly at night, was not the smartest of ideas. He hadn't thought of that before just then, "Um.. I think I can stay for a little while longer. I don't think I should risk going back by myself." He bit his lip as he looked over at the grazing Pokemon, social graces had never been his strong point.

"No problem." She winked at him, and hopping up immedately whistled. "Cassie, come on girl!" She called, as the Stantlers ears perked up. After a few seconds of her drooling at the bush in longing, she padded towards the pair. "Aw.." she stated, seeing the sadness in Picasso's eyes. "I'll treat you when we get home, okay?"
Head bobbling happily, she gave her a pat on the head. "I'll walk this time. Shall we go?"

Lumin nodded, "Sure." The three began back down the trail to town, Lumin looking nervously as the sun sank down. It wasn't the dark that he disliked, it was the things that came out once it arrived. he had to take his mind off things like that, "Um.. we didn't get much of a chance to talk on our way up..." It was mildly embarrassing, not just the fact that he sounded like he didn't know this person very well, but he wasn't very good at talking to "Fill space", and it showed. He looked up again at the sun, just keep your mind off it...

Choppi smiled as she too looked to the sky. Hannah would want to come out and play soon, when the night came. "So, where are you from? You're new to Zatao...so what region did you come from?" She began, starting off the small talk for the evening. Cassie trotted quietly beside the her trainer. "I'm all the way from Kanto myself...and I wanted adventure so I bypassed all the other regions and came here! I've met alot of trainers, so that's really made it worthwhile." Choppi was bubbly and full of energy as always.

Lumin nodded, "I'm from Sinoh.. Sunnyshore.. but I don't really like the city, and I had heard that this would be a nice quiet place, or at least not covered over with buildings, and since I was going to move anyway, I decided that this would be as good a place as any. I like it so far, it's easy to think here, the air is clearer, and there isn't as much light coming from things at night.. there's also no blackouts from people using too much electricity..."

Choppi nodded at him with a smile, knowing that he was finally able to talk freely. It was a good thing, but she knew there was a shadow over what he was talking about to happily. The city was small now, but it had already boomed and would continue to do so. At least, if Lumin grew with it, he’d be less afraid. Might even make him stronger in the long run.
“I really do like it here, although I miss my old home a bit. But this place is so full of possibilities! Like today!” She pointed happily up into the air for no reason, but for emphasis. “I got to meet you Lumin, a new watcher to the region!”

Lumin smiled, it seemed that he had made his second friend here. He nodded, "Yea, it seems there are quite a few good points to being here... It's nice to meet nice people.. even if you have to deal with some that aren't so nice in the process..." He looked up at the sky, there would probably be plenty of time to get back.. they were getting close. He sighed again, "I'm glad we met, I think you're one of the nice people." He gave a small smile, hoping he didn't sound too stupid. His lack of social experience was not serving him very well.
