new piccy of the puffs! i only have 4 now...they are all in the shot some were always smaller from the beginning and they were bullied out of the food even though the fish doing the intimidating already had a worm hanging out of its mouth half-way and i would add extra food and they still wouldnt eat. i also had a really bad bout of HIGH heat the one day it was like 80 here which probably killed the weaker ones
not getting anymore anytime soon though 1 male 3 females

Hi! I have Dwarf Puffers too =3 They really are characters. I have 3 in a 5.5 gal. I also have one lonely oto in there with them, I need to find a good source of otos and get a few more. That's def. my favorite tank, I love watching the puffers =D I don't know if they're males or females yet because they're nowhere near full grown.

Well, they were about half an inch when I got them, now they're probably about an inch or so but I'm waiting for the 6 month mark to know for certain their sexes. Two of them are a lot bigger than the other one, I'm just waiting for the telltale stripe to know for certain if I have a male. If it doesn't show, then I'll assume they're all females and wait for my lfs to get them in again so I can get more. I'm taking over the rest of the house with tanks and I want a DP tank for the kitchen >=)
Btw, yours are so cute! =3

in this image you see the little lines behind the eyes? the golden looking line? that means that one is a male this image i found on google also has a good shot of a male
females do not have those "wrinkles"
and yes they do breed in captivity :3 you just need a clump of java moss for them to lay their eggs in

There's always room for one more tank. Especially a puffer tank =3
Thanks for the info, I'll look for wrinkles today at feeding time.

Hmm, you could build a stand that goes to the ceiling that would hold most of the reptile tanks since those will be lighter than fish tanks and easier to build a stand for =3 Then you have more room!

I haven't been able to notice any wrinkles on my 3, but my smallest one has the stripe, so I know he's a male. The other two are big and fat, no stripe, no wrinkles so I'm hoping for two females. That would make a perfect breeding trio. -crosses fingers- I really want more of them but the place I got them from sold out.
