Bryghtstar managed to roll away again and only was grazed a little bit. Another second and she probably would've been really hurt.
She figured that her current strategy wasn't working that well so far. At this rate, the Zubat was going to beat her. So she used another move that would catch him unawares. The Shaymin jumped onto the rock and launched herself into the air, kissing him sweetly in the process.

Zyk felt himself grow disoriented at the kiss. He landed before he could do any serious damage to himself. Doing his best to concentrate, he tried another Leech Life.
He sure hoped that he wasn't attacking himself!

Bryghtstar wasn't sure what happened, but it looked like he missed hitting himself. She would've laughed if the battle wasn't so much on the line now, for her.
And it appears as if the Zubat was going to shake out of confusion soon, so she better get some damage in before then. And before his human comes around.
She hurled another Psychic attack at him with all her might, hoping it would hit.

Zyk had indeed missed himself, luckily for him. He felt disoriented, but it was getting a little clearer. He tried another Leech Life, feeling himself growing weaker still.
Zinnia, meanwhile, was getting worried. Would Zyk come back soon?

Bryghtstar sighed with relief as the Zubat attack himself again, this time not missing. She only had to hold up a little while longer and she can be done and be in peace again.
Unfortunetly, it looked like she shook out of his confusion, so she had to try her hardest. She summoned up the Psychic energy again, and released it in a flash of purple.

Zyk felt very tired now. He was almost finished. He summoned up the strength to fire another Leech Life.
Zinnia frowned and stood up. Why was Zyk taking so long? It finally entered her mind that Zyk might have lost. If the zubat had fainted, how could he get back to Zinnia? "Oh, Zyk!" she whispered. "I'm so sorry!" She ran in the direction she had last seen Zyk and hoped that he was all right. Where had he gone?!

Bryghtstar was getting tired as well, and she didn't have any moves to suck health with. She kept on reminding herself that she only had to survive a few more turns, then the Zubat will be knocked out and she'll be able to run... and find another place to live until the next Pokemon disturbs her. Yay.
Instead of focusing on pessimistic thoughts like that, she fired another Psychic at Zyk, with a loud cry to accompany it.

Somehow, the attack felt like a pillow thrown at his face. Cold and smothering, but soft. He was having a hard time flapping his wings and he felt numb.... All he wanted to do now was sleep.
Zyk tried squeaking louder than usual with another Supersonic. It was his last chance, but even squeaking took an effort.

This time Bryghtstar covered her ears, seeing that the Zubat was preparing another supersonic attack. Her eardrums still throbbed a bit when it was done, but at least she wasn't confused.
"Shaaaaaaaaaymin!" She knew that the next attack would knock him out, and she didn't hesitate to make it with another Psychic blow.

Zyk squeaked as loudly as he could, hoping that Zinnia would be able to find him. He felt pretty awful-- he had started this fight in order to save Zinnia, and now he needed to be rescued. In another moment, Zyk fainted.
A few seconds later, Zinnia burst in on the scene. She did not even see Bryghtstar, she was so worried. "Zyk! Oh, Zyk!" She scooped up the little zubat in her arms. Tears clouded her eyes. "I'm so sorry! I'll take good care of you..." The young Rocket ran off as quickly as she could over the muddy meadow.
