Red nodded and let that sink in, "Abla... An appropriate name for an appropriately pretty lioness, I'd say," he responded, nodding to himself as though to validate his won words to himself.

Abla could feel her cheeks burn with the male's words. Her smile turned a little more shy. She crossed her legs in front of her then she sat up some. Glad that her coat was so dark, hiding the red that would normally show. She nodded to him. "Thank you Red." She flicked her tail behind her then closed her eyes for a moment enjoying the wind. "Today is a nice day." She murmured her thoughts out loud. She opened on of her eyes so she could look at the faint outline of him that she could see. In her vision everything was dark, however, for example. The lion before her was darker then the rock he was laying on, which was darker then the sky. But it took a lot of paying attention to notice the very faint shade differences that their was.

Red cocked his head to the side as he watched her, "Yeah, it's nice... The wind is refreshing. Wish it carried into the sands..." He shrugged to himself at this, and rested his head pack on his forepaws, which were hanging over the edge of the rock. Indeed, it was quite relaxing to be here on a day such as this...

Abla chuckled once more at what he said. "Mmm... Its good see new places though." She shifted how she was laying, pushing her feet out to the side of her. Letting her hair fall over her face once more. "If you don't mind me asking Red." She started looking in his direction for a moment before looking off into the distance once more. "Can you tell me what you look like?" She laughed for a moment. "If you don't think I'm crazy for asking, just interested." She smiled, felling a little funny to have asked that question, it wasn't something a normal lion would ask but she couldn't see... She was curious. Why wouldn't she want to know what things look like around her.

He shifted a bit, thinking how to describe himself... "Well... My coat is rustic orange and my mane is a red-orange color, and my belly is a lighter shade of orange... It is also cut into something like a mohawk that goes down my back to between my haunches and barely falls in front of my face, with pieces falling behind my ears and down my jawbone. They're decorated with silver beads, one at the end of each. I also wear a feather behind each ear, sticking up. I have a tattoo on my left shoulder that says XIII, and beneath that a tribal, barbed tattoo that is based around a barked circle. I also have a simpler barbed tattoo on my left thigh. They may be repeated on my right side as well, but in place of my right eye I have an x-shaped scar, so I have a bit of an issue seeing that side of my body." He stopped a moment, trying to process other attributes of himself.
"I wear one gold hoop in my left ear and two in my right, and two vertical tribal bars under my eyes. I also wear a gold bangle on both my front ankles and on my back right. And... My tail feathers are aflame." He ended on that note and sighed, allowing her time to get a mental image.

It didn't take Abla long to process what he was saying, what he looked like. She was good at it. She smiled at him and nodded. "You don't have the best sigh either huh?" She wished he said that before, it made her feel a little bit better about being blind, anytime she met some one who really couldn't see it made her feel better. It made her feel like she wasn't alone in this world. She knew there was others that were like her but it was better when she could meet them when she could get to know them.
"You really do sound handsome." She said nodding to him. Unlike a lot of others she wasn't shy when it came to complimenting others. She felt like she was too old to do things like that anymore.

Red shrugged the compliment briskly off - he was a warrior, and compliments were not things he was taught to value... Not on looks, anyway. "Not the best vision, no, but my hearing is just that much better. and my other eye is perfectly fine." He stifled a yawn - the sun was starting to make him sleepy, but there was certainly no way her was falling asleep with such an interesting female with him. "How about you... How did you come to be blind?"

Abla looked at him with interest. She didn't meet others that much that were too blind. It made her feel a little more normal. She shifted how she was sitting before nodding. "Ah. Me? I was born blind, Both eyes. I couldn't see anything. Only outlines of things... I passed it down to my daughter, she can't see out of one eye." She really wished that he didn't... She hated knowing that her duaghter also couldn't see well out of that one eye.

Red nodded, but kept to himself the mental note that in his former pride, there had once been a lioness born blind. She was their seer of war, and way always able to tell them two days before they were to be attacked, no matter their location. His mind briefly wandered to this thought, finally ending and returning him to Abla when he remembered her quite gruesome death in the final massacre.
"It's unfortunate... But being blind - or even partially - is just a different way of living..." He smiled at that. It had been so long since he lost that eye, he hardly remembered being able to see out of both. "I'm sure your daughter has little issue with it?"
She had a daughter...? His mind briefly flashed on the idea, but moved away, wanting to remain focused on her and not her past.

Abla looked at the male then shrugged. "It doesn't bother me. Being blind. I mean there are things that I wish I could see but.. I feel horrible about my daughter having to go through that." She sighed softly before looking down. "My other daughter was fine... My Ex mate wasn't that understanding about being blind." She shrugged slightly before answering his question. "She used to have a problem with it. She used to be a little depressed about it but now... Well I haven't seen her in a while." She sighed softly before looking at him. "Do you have any children?" She asked cocking her head to the side a bit.

Red's mind quickly went to rest as the prefix 'ex' was tossed into her explanation, but then he was taken a bit by surprise at her question. "Cubs? No, none for me," he replied simply, following it with a bit of a chuckle.

Abla chuckled softly at his reaction. A smile spreading on her maw as she stretched her front and back legs out from under her. She looked in his direction once more out of force of habit then nodded. "Ah. Have you a mate though?" She arched a small brow.

Red shook his head with a quiet jinlge, then realized that she couldn't see, "No, no mate... Closest thing would be a female back in my home pride, but she's more of a sister than anything else." He have a quiet chuckle and smiled, "She's mated to the king! Loved him since she was small." It was obvious that his love for her was sisterly - there wasn't even a hint of jealousy in his voice, only pride and pure shared joy at her happiness.

Abla nodded with a soft smile. "Ah, understandable. Its always nice to have friends like that." She chuckled soft nodding to him. "What happened to your pride?" She asked. She wasn't that sure if it was still around, she had never heard of anything like it, she was old but she never had heard of it.

Red was silent awhile, letting the stories roll in his head before telling them. "Well, my current pride is deep in the desert, hard to find without knowing where it is." He paused and shifted. "My previous pride... The one I was born into is... It was massacred."
