Vox seemed pleased that he had taken the other by surprise and made his way to dart back into the shallows, where he knew the other would be having difficulty thanks to his sheer size. That fact was a little feather in the cap, so to speak, and the toddler giggled as he moved and placed himself in one of the corners. When the larger person would come over, he would run off again.
If he couldn't down him, he could wear him down at least. Make him tired and weary.

Once back in the shallow Rook stood again needing air, it was still the other's turn though since he seemed not to need air as often , besides Rook was enjoying the chase. Once the older boy was submerged again he slowly swam through through the shallow water towards his target being careful to avoid the parents and children also wading in it.

Vox was pleased to know the other had to surface again after only a short amount of time, and he moved himself through the crowds of people rather easily until he saw a set of legs in his line of sight that made him start to backpedal. He wasn't fast enough, apparently, as when he tried to move a set of hands suddenly descended upon him and lifted him clear from the water.
"!!!"
"Stop struggling. You look like a water-drenched rat."
Rit held the toddler beneath his arms and out from in front of her, her body looking so odd to Vox in a swimsuit.

Rook stood again when he saw the other boy being lifted out of the water. he watched curiously as the small boy's parent tried to tame him. It wasn't his place to interfere but he did watch carefully hoping to at least catch the other's name in case they met again.

"Were you playing with someone? You look pretty happy, Vox."
Rit took a few steps towards the side of the pool and set the toddler down on it, watching with awe (like always) as the water seemed to suddenly pool off him and leave all but his hair bone dry. Even the little swimming trunks he wore shrunk back like they'd just been put on, and the Kelpie boy frowned.
"I wasn't playing, I was planning on making him exhausted so I could drown him."
Vox held his arms out to be lifted up and held by Rit, who was still in the pool, and she obliged by snuggling him close.
"Right, right. I forgot, you don't do silly things like play or be normal. My mistake."

Drown him, Vox had wanted to drown him, the little boy's words seemed awfully serious sounding to Rook who was starting to learn that there were several people out there in the world he didn't necessarily want to meet again. The brunet disturbed him now and Rook silently made his way past him and the woman he assumed was his mother. He had thought it had all just been a game and yet.. Rook hurried left the pool area headed for the showers so he could rinse the chlorine from his skin and get home where he was wanted.
