The other's speed once again surprised the dark male and Iar roared in anger as claws and teeth marked his fur with blood - quickly ducking down and backing up some himself.
But that was really only to get a better angle, so that he could spin and try to get at the leopon from the side.

Inexperience showed itself in the young male; he became less tense as it appeared that older male was backing away. One of them had little to lose, and it wasn't him. Therefore, he felt that the apparent backing up as a reasonable sign that the male decided this fight wasn't worth it.
The other male's sudden movements caught him completely off guard; the fire in his side burned away that naivety. Growling very deeply, he tried to hide the yowl of pain.
Rather then fight the attack on his side, he allowed it to guide him, dancing to the side away from the attack. Not only was he doing this to lessen the damage, but it got him where he wanted to be. Once again he burst forward, feeling the burn of his back legs as he over used them in the process. It did give him an idea, at the last moment he turned his attention from trying to get a good claw to the side of the other lion and attempting to hock the back leg with his own clawed paw as well as aiming teeth for the muscle of the back of the back leg.
This was too risky, brashness of youth, for the act tossed him on his injured shoulder and exposed his side and under belly. Quickly scrambled chaotically to try to correct the problem, really hoping his attack on the back distracted enough.

Iar growled in return at that and tried to twist away from the other's attack on his hind leg.
But if nothing else, the leopon was faster, and before Iar could get away completely, he was bleeding in yet another place and now limping slightly.
The demon wasn't about to let that slow him down, though, especially not once he saw how vulnerable the attack had made the younger male.
Roaring, he moved to try to pounce upon the other and pin him down.

For a few moments, the young male thought he was going to get away with that. Those brief moments he could see victory within his grasp, the dreams and his body was crushed moments later. While he had managed to get to laying on his stomach, he was only able to get his butt slight raised in order to shoot forward when the heavier lion pinned him.
Letting out a grunt, his heart started rising like a cornered rabbit. Struggling, he scraped up the side of his back paw as he twisted enough, threatening his back in order to attempt to free a paw to attempt to attack. Fruitless, it only made him hurt more. What other option was there but to go for whatever his mouth could get a hold of, a lot less focused but also stronger due to extra drive to live.

Iar actually laughed at the other's rather pathetic attempts to get away from him, accepting the pain of whatever the leopon did manage to get his teeth on in order to press the male farther into the dirt.
Then Iar moved to get off - raking claws down the other's sides as he did so.
Backing off in truth then, the demon snorted. "Leave this place," he growled. "Now."

Salt to an open wound, he was very embarrassed that he was being laughed at like he was some foolish cub. With a full snarl, he hissed through his teeth as the claws hit his side.
Quickly moving away to get a better standing for another charge, nothing but adrenaline was keeping him from falling over or slugging around. The command caught him off guard; he had started to think the beast couldn't speak. Standing firm, he had too much to protect too leave, "No! I will not leave, there are no pride scenting in this area, I will not leave it yet." Leaving it would be leaving Tiifu to the male's mercy, which clearly was not one of the male's strong suites. Perhaps it was, he was still alive after all, but regardless, Tiifu did not deserve to be scared like he was, she should remain unharassed so he couldn't leave.

"Sewelo," Tiifu said absently from her spot up in the tree, observing the male cautiously as the fight seemed to come to a halt. She was silent for a long moment, staring nervously between the two males before she slowly came down from the tree. "We should both leave. There may not be pridal scents here... But maybe we're too close to the pride."

Iar scoffed at the younger male. "Even the female is more intelligent that you are," he said then, circling slowly with a low growl.
"I don't care if you take her with you or not. But be gone from this place if you wish to keep your pathetic life."

Ears lowered Sewelo felt abashed again, being mocked by the older male and receiving no verbal support from the leopardess he was fighting for. Standing firm, he watched the male circle him, following him with his eyes and always making sure at least his complete back was not directed to the male.
His pride needed to know about this place as well, this disgraceful loss had to be worth something, "What is the name of the pride you protect so fiercely? I will not make the mistake to come back here, nor allow my pride." Delaying could be dangerous, but something had to be won, if only knowledge.

Tiifu could understand if Sewelo was angry with her later. But right now, her only thought was getting the male home in one piece. She could only imagine how crushed his mother would be if he didn't return. And she didn't ever want to have to tell a mother that they'd lost their cub in a scrap over pridal territory.

Iar smirked at that... and as he gazed at the two of them, his eyes flashed and almost seemed to glow just for a moment.
"Know this.... you have wandered too close to the lands where demons dwell," he growled softly. "And that is all that you need to know."
Stopping his circling, he glared at them both. Now begone.

Demons? He believed that, though devil seemed a better term. With the bruised pride of a cub, he started toward the tree Tiifu had run to, tail twitching very crossly, "Devil is a better term!" Ears flat against his skull, the young male sulked off. When he was far away, the limping and lethargic movements would set in, but he would not, absolutely would not show weakness to the male behind him.
Being defeated was enough, if the devil threatened his pride, all he would be laugh at him. To his mind, he did not prove himself that he would be contending with for a while. He wasn't cut out to be a fighter that much was already kicking his tail and he hadn't even gotten fifteen steps away.

"Before we leave, may I ask who you are?" Tiifu questioned softly, glancing back at Sewelo before she eyes Iartuupe. This so called demon held himself in a manner she had only seen few stride in. Like he was bigger than the world itself...

Iar snorted at the female and stayed where he was - tail tip twitching back and forth as he ignored his own wounds and the blood staining his fur.
He was only staying here long enough to be sure they left.
"Iartuupe is my name, if you really want to know it," he replied, glaring at her.

Sewelo moved a little passed the area where Tiifu was and stayed put. He would leave when Tiifu did, to ensure she was safe even if he was cross with her. The name he didn't understand why it mattered. He had never heard of Iartuupe. Tail twitching, he just endured his grave discomfort to keep up his strong front until Tiifu finally saw it a good time to leave.
