"But at least you're most comfortable in your ensemble!" she noted, holding out her fan for a moment.
"Yeah, it would be wonderful to see Ginmei again. Tio, Triane, Kakui, Gable, they'd all be wonderful to see. Plus, most of them haven't even seen me as an adult, which while it's a bit odd...it just would be nice to see them all." She smiled as he mentioned poems.
"Well, it's a pleasure of yours, something that you care about so you shouldn't have to keep it a secret. Plus, as your friends, we'll all hopefully see the fascination that you see in them as well." Xin played gently with her tail as she continued. "As for me...I'm not sure what I truly like...besides helping out my friends, I mean. I must get that from Rose and all of the nice people who have helped me out in the past."

When she listed all of those unfamiliar, he faintly wondered what they were all like. “Ah, all those people will be surprised to see you! They’ll be surprised to see how wonderful you have turned out!” he smiled and closed the book, tracing his fingers over the letter indentations on the cover. “They probably have no idea that my parents, Mena and Colton have children too… so lots more surprises for those Hytes” he added lightly.
“I don’t know why I keep it a secret, I suppose the idea that it makes one seem less manly, but I could careless if that’s what people thought of me if they knew… I read a lot of other things too however” Ekene looked thoughtful. He had no idea why he kept it a secret, he just didn’t really open up much about personal things like that. “Helping is a very good thing to like doing, its people like that which makes our world function in a friendly and relatively smooth order” He grinned a little, “Plus its good for ones Karma”

Xin blushed as she realized her error. "Oh dear...you probably don't know who those Hytes are, do you? Well...I can't do them justice by a description but I can tell you what kind of Hyte-animals they are. Ginmei's a beautiful goldfish, Triane's a bird, Kakui's a lizard of some sort and Tio is a polar bear....I wish I could tell you more but I've only seen them for a split second when I was growing up."
She laughed thinking about Mena and Colty's being parents. "Yeah, I think they'd probably figure if Colton and Mena ever got to have kids, that there would be a huge explosion due to Mena's tendancies in the lab."
She put a hand lightly on a book nearby. "Whether or not its manly doesn't matter. You like what you like and that's that. biggrin Other people's opinions shouldn't change your own." She cocked an eyebrow at the mention of helping others and karma. "Well, I help others just because....it's what I like to do! Whether I actually help out people is another thing but that's what I choose to do with my life, I guess."

Ekene smiled a little, listening to her speak and respond to all of what he said. When she touched on why she helped people, he smiled warmly at her and itched his ear lightly. “See that’s what I really like about you Xin Yue… you help people regardless of who they are and want nothing in return…. Selfless... A true kind hearted person” He said softly, a tinge of pink on his cheeks. The Spiraffe sighed a little, looking at her for a moment then he was a loss for words. Scrambling for something else to say, he back pedaled back to the train of thought from the wedding.
“So I hear that we’re going to match at the wedding, I think I’ll be wearing pink as well…” he grinned a little.

"Well, you're just as kind Ekene. You help others even if you don't realize that you're doing it." She smiled lightly, thinking back to the people she'd met and realized that she could enjoy just being with people. She'd felt she sometimes was just there in the background and not really wanting to be there to help but, she quickly realized that she really did enjoy doing the things that she did.
As Ekene spoke, it brought her back to reality.
"Oh...yes, we will be wearing pink! I heard that Mena and Colty's party is wearing gold, which will look so darling on them!"
She turned and smiled to Ekene. "So, it's really going to happen, this long-awaited wedding. Are you excited, nervous...a little bit of both?"

Blinking softly, he chuckled and gave her a bashful smile. “You think so? Thanks Xin Yue…. Its nice hearing that from you” Ekene smiled, eyes softening a little. No one ever really said something like that to him, he helped his sister sure, but he honestly never thought he had helped anyone else really.
“Yeah, steam punk kind of theme for them… my parents are more of a Victorian ruffle sort of theme” he grinned a little and shifted a little. “I can’t say I’ve ever worn pink before but I hope I can do the color some justice for you” he laughed a little.
“Mmm… yeah I’m a little bit of both really… Excited for my parents and fro Mena and Coltie but nervous about being in front of everyone”

"For me?" Xin smiled and looked back at him. "Well I'm sure you'll do it justice for you as well you know." The Valentine's Rat nodded at his comments and laid a hand gently onto his wrist. "You'll do just fine for the event, I'm quite sure of it. Everyone's going to do and try to do their best so you have nothing to worry about, okay Ekene?"
