Sira kept her pace as she watched her brother run on ahead of her towards the tree. Of course, talk of their future possible bonded (and her mentioning something about him taking care of a bird) got Vu excited again. Not that it was a bad thing, but Sira really just didn't feel like climbing any trees right that instant. It was hard keeping up with Vu, and at the moment the little femme really only felt like going home.
But, just like earlier, she didn't want to cut her brother's fun short. Besides, the whole bird thing was her idea anyway, so she ought to follow up on it.
When the cub got close enough she took a seat and looked up into the branches of the tree, looking for signs of a birds' nest. She couldn't find one though, so Sira gave a shrug. "We'd probably have to climb it to make sure, but I don't see one from here." She stood and circled the base of the tree, golden gaze still focused up toward the branches. "If there are birds up there though," she started after taking a seat again. "I don't think they're here right now. I don't here any noise coming from up there."

“Huh?” Vu looked down at his sister. He tended to get carried away with himself. Today was no exception; he was already half way up the tree by the time his sister’s words made contact with his brain. “But I think I see a nest! That means there’s a mama bird, right?”

The femme watched her brother, a bit scared of what could happen if he really kept on going. After he'd gone high enough she felt it was about time she got him back down onto solid ground.. And that, of course, would be easier if she weren't afraid of heights. She never told anyone, though, since she was supposed to grow up to become a strong warrior. What sort of warrior was scared of heights?
"Vu," she started, keeping her cool. Or trying to.. she was shuffling her forepaws where she sat. "I think that's high enough, mom once said that mama birds are really protective of their young. Who knows what could happen if you get too close. She might poke your eyes out, then what? You can't be a legendary warrior if you're blind y'know?"

Vu thought about that for a few seconds. Birds pecking out the eyes of a lion. That sounded pretty impressive for a little bird, even though he was just a cub. Maybe some birds could even peck out the eyes of adult lions. Now that would be useful in a fight. “I don’t think birds are that brave,” he said, sounding sure of himself.
He pulled himself onto a near by branch, letting his back legs hang over the side as he took in his surroundings with sharp interest. When he spotted the bird nest he sat up enough to see inside. The nest was empty. Tail swaying, he looked up and searched the higher branches for signs of other nests. He spotted a few but they looked too high for him to reach. Climbing up the trunk left him a little tuckered out and Sira sounded worried. The last thing he wanted was for her to run off and tell their mother.
“Oh, alright,” Vu groaned, as if he was being forced down from the tree. He stood up, digging his claws into the branch, and peered down at Sira with a big grin on his face. “Hehe, you look like a little bug from up here! Are you sure you don’t wanna come up?”

Sira gave a sort of laugh when he asked her to come up after him. Her answer was, of course, "No, I'm alright. I rather like being situated firmly on the ground, thank you very much." At that the femme turned tail and glanced back up at her brother - a sort of warning glance, you could say. Not that she would tell their mother, but she was just about ready to leave. It was getting both boring and fairly late. The young lioness assumed their mother was already out looking for her cubs' whereabouts, so she raised a brow as she looked at her brother.
"I'm gonna go on ahead, then, since you seem to be so into your um...tree. I won't tell mom, so you don't have to worry, but I won't cover for you if she starts scolding you. So hurry up!" And with that she ran off, laughing somewhat playfully as she went, wondering if her brother would try and catch up so they could race home together.

“Okay!” Vu was quite content with that. He knew he wouldn’t be up there so long his mother would get worried. He could take care of himself. Suddenly, without Sira around to talk to, the tree became quite boring. He looked around the branches in search of something fun. Of course, there was nothing. And Sira was getting farther and farther away.
Without saying a word Vu leapt from the high branch. He landed in a tumble, throwing dust all around him as he rolled onto his feet and took off after his sister, determined to beat her home.
