The Bar's Most Well Loved Customer
If he were older it might have made more of an impression on him, the gaggle of squealing, giggling, affectionate, and diverse group of women... well that and if he weren't looking at them through the eyes of a she. They were pretty women yes, all different in their looks, and all really nice but the first thing that always drew the unwavering gaze of both himself and his tail were their stranger features... there was one woman with a fox tail, one looked a lot like a cat, the one that had been dubbed as his guardian looked like a unicorn, and one even had wings! He was in Heaven as far as that went, such amazing people! So out of the ordinary and they were all so nice!
Not to mention the spread of food that was brought over to him, a variety like nothing he'd seen before and had both im and his tail drooling.
"Rosa, Rosa! Is it true that this darling fell from the Heavens?" One of the women asked, her voice breathy with surprise at the story she'd heard from one of the other women. She turned her gaze to Rosa while reaching a hand out with a cookie in it as an offering to the little baby.
She gave a nod, "Yeah, can you believe it?" The unicorn woman said, watching as the boy took the cookie and broke it in half. He devoured half of it himself while the eel like tail took the other half, chewing on it. It was... odd to watch to say the least, he had to have strange anatomy for his tail to be able to move, see, and eat as well.
She broke her gaze, wanting to keep from starring at him to hard. After all starring was very rude and not something that a lady did. Even if she weren't much of a lady herself she could fake it if she tried hard enough.
"Whatca gonna name 'im, Rosa?" Another of the girls asked, her fox tail wagging behind her and she leaned over to run a finger along one of the boy's scaled hands. It was so neat the way his body was decorated, like a tribute to all sorts of different animals.
The unicorn woman leaned back, lounging against the seat she was on, "Mmm... I have been considering ideas and I have decided that Hector would be the one that suited him best." She said, her tail swishing behind her. Animal Freedom had been the crime, it made the woman that Hector used to be sound like one who protected animals, freed them from... something terrible no doubt. So Hector was the name he would be given, it meant 'defender' after all.
"Hector, eh? Sound all distinguished like." The fox woman said then gave a grin as she ruffled the boy's hair, "Well Welcome to Dream." Referring to the name of the bar that they were currently in, all of them women crowding around them repeated the greeting all quick to invite the little one into their midst. After all it wasn't to often they got someone so cute visiting them, it was probably the first and no doubt would be the last child that came to Dream, it was more a place where Adults went to unwind and lose themselves after a long day at work.
Hector looked around at all the of the smiling faces, grinning back before he reached out to pick up another sugary snack and popped it into his mouth and set to chewing. Mmmm, tasty treats and nice people... he was going to like this place called 'Dream' he was thinking.

Relaxation Time
Rosalind was sitting on one of the plush sofas of the bar, her long legs crossed and she was slightly slouched. It had been a bit of a long day but now she was able to relax with her son in a manner that caused her a great amount of joy, "My sweet little Hector." She murmured, wrapping an arm around him and snuggled him close.
The boy gave a purring sound, leaning against her in a delighted manner. While he snuggled against her Alejo slithered around him, looking at the necklace that hung around her neck. The eel tail nudged at it before its mouth opened to grab hold of one of the colorful 'petals' and tugged on it, trying to steal the pretty, shiny item. It took the tail only a moment to realize that it was tied around her in a manner that wasn't about to be easily stolen. It didn't stop Alejo from trying though, tugging more and more, harder and harder until Rosa finally laid a hand over the elegant relic.
"Now, now Alejo. No trying to take what doesn't belong to you." She scolded lightly, having to real force behind her voice it was just a gentle warning to the eel.
Alejo gave a bit of a glare and there was a spark from him that jolted her just a bit, causing her to jump and sit up a bit from her relaxed position. Her amethyst eyes gave the eel a warning looking before she moved the relic, tucking it under her shirt where it would remain safe from possible theft by the eel. Hector watched the proceedings, hard to miss since Alejo was a part of him and then looked up at Rosa's face, ears turning forward. He was curious as to what the necklace was, he'd never see that particular one before... it was shiny and pretty! Looked like a flower too. He would ask to see it if he could and if Alejo hadn't already gotten it taken away.
Rosa seemed to notice his interest and gave a smile, scratching him behind one of his pretty, furry ears, "Its a special necklace, we need to take good care of it while it does its job." She told the boy with a smile.
Hector's ears flicked back and forth, his curiosity rising. The necklace had a job? How could it have a job? He squirmed, trying to get all of his many limbs to work as he wanted to work, wanting to get closer to see the necklace, to try to figure out what it was that it would do, what its job was! In his excitement his tail started to wag causing Alejo to move in a waving, slithering type motion.
The woman watched them both closely before finally giving a smile and took the necklace back out so they could see it, "We will have another family member soon, one that will appear from this." She explained from them.
Both starred at it, the gears in their minds whirling as they seemed to try to figure out how a necklace could cause a child to appear... but found themselves unable to figure it out. Then again they knew all about weird things that could happen, they were a prime example of just that. As such they could do nothing but believe her words and stare, wanting and watching the necklace. Another family member? That sounded interesting.

A Ghost of the Past
Rosalind was standing on the small stage that was the focal point of the main room of Dream. Her voice was filling the room, the sound captivating almost all of those who listened including Hector who was sitting on the lap of another of the gorgeous hostess. His tall ears were twitching as he listened, eyes wide. She was in a glittering though somewhat slinky dress that helped in drawing the eyes of even the men who weren't interested so much as her singing as just her in general. Rosa was a songstress known as much for her looks as she was for her voice and while the singing was her main jobs most days it didn't mean that she didn't have any customers. There were a few who came to Dream for her and only her, refusing to see others. They were men with grand amounts of money who even the unicorn woman wouldn't and couldn't ignore.
As her song ended she opened her purple eyes, looking out over the crowd and she couldn't help but show the smallest amount of surprise at someone who was sitting in the front row, smoking a cigarette, clapping the loudest. Veles... She wiped away the surprise on her face and replaced it with a serene smile as she left the stage and another woman took her place, sitting behind the piano and set to playing it.
"Rosalind." He man murmured, reaching out to take her hand, lifting it up so that he could brush his lips over it, "Its been a long time."
The unicorn gave a nod of her head, "Yes, it has." She murmured, taking him in. He was as beautiful as ever, his dark hair, deeply tanned skinned, and those eyes... so very blue one could drown in them. She motioned for him to follow her to one of the plush booths where the woman with Hector was sitting, "Thank you for watching him."
The woman nodded, rising to her feet, her fluffy fox tail wagging behind her, "No problem at all love." She said, giving a smile and ruffled Hector's hair before walking off. Everyone at Dream knew of Veles and knew it was best to leave Rosalind to deal with him.
The pale haired woman leaned back in her seat and drew Hector over to sit near to her, running her fingertips over over one of his ears then lifted her gaze to watch her guest, waiting patiently. It took him a long moment before he finally took up the seat across from her and even after he was seated he looked a bit uncomfortable.
"What's with the kid?" Velese finally asked when his curiousity over the matter became to much for him as he eyed the rather strange look boy who was sitting along side the unicorn woman. His blue eyes held the slightly amount of surprise at the presence, he'd never heard of a child being allowed into Dream especially one so young.
"He is in my care." She said simply before she leaned forward to rest her elbows on her knees, "The real question is why you are here today Veles, you know that your not exactly a person who is all to welcome here anymore by most of the girls." Rosalind was a strong woman and it was because of that strength that she dealt with the men like Veles before the bouncers were called in.
"I know, I know." He muttered, he seemed to be trying to wrap his mind around it. The boy was in her care? In what was? Was he her son, "So you finally found someone then?" He asked hesitantly.
Rosalind gave a little chuckle, "Mmm, no. Not quite yet but that didn't stop me from taking him in and then later a second child." She told him. It was easier to talk with him now she realized. Only a few months ago she might have found this difficult but now it would seem as if old wounds had started to heal, "You don't need to be so tense Veles, I am fine now." She sounded quite delighted over this feeling and realization. She was fine.
Veles gave a bit of a smile, "I am glad to hear that." He murmured before he looked back and forth, a curious look on his face, "So where is the other one?"
She lifted a hand up to lay it upon the necklace that was hanging around her neck, "He is resting right here." She told him, "He will be born from it when he is ready." As she spoke the chimera boy crawled up the unicorn woman, lifting one of his many hands up toward that necklace. He liked it, it was pretty and it was doing an important job! While he was wrapped up in stroking the necklace in a delighted way Alejo was watching Veles in a silent, glaring manner.
The eel tail didn't like the man for some reason... he couldn't put his finger on it but it rubbed the eel the wrong way.
"When you have these two sons your still going to be working here?" Veles asked, showing his normal dislike of the job that the unicorn had. He was jealous of the company she kept, of her other men, any of it... it had been the big problem between them though not the biggest problem. The biggest problem was that she had told him she didn't want to quit, that she loved the job, loved the people, loved Dream.
"Yes, the Madame of the place told me that I would be the next to inherit Dream when she retires. I won't be quitting for a long time. I will be taking care of the place and the girls when my time comes." She told him.
"And the children? Will they understand?" He asked, his hackles rising just a little.
She gave a little shrug of her shoulders, "I can't tell you what they will think, they are their own people after all. I guess the future will tell us what will happen, what they think." She said as she wrapped one arm around Hector and drew him to her to snuggle him close.
Hector started to purr in a rather loud manner at this, half for the snuggles and half because the necklace was now within reach. He lifted his four hands all up to catch hold of it so he could inspect it, looking it over, mewing at it. He wanted for it to respond but it didn't... it merely glittered in the lights in response to his attention to it.
Veles watched the way she gave attention to the boy in her lap and he finally gave a nod as he rose to his feet, "I got a promotion in my job. I thought I would come by to try once again to get you to come away with me but... I guess this is all what you have chosen." He murmured, looking around them. A bar, two boys, and a bunch of women that would look to her for guidance... it was what she wanted, what she had chosen... he gave a soft sigh before he turned and walked away.
It was purifying for them both, to be freed from their first brush with childish and possessive love.
"So little Hector? Shall we order some wine and celebrate?" She asked of him, waving to one of the other girls asking for a glass of wine for herself and a cup of juice for her son. A toast to the future she thought, her heart freed now to seek out new love if she could find one that would allow her to continue on with her work.

Sunbathing Trio
The weather seemed to be really nice today. The sun was out and shining brightly, there was a slight breeze to keep it from being to warm, and there were a few clouds here and there to give the sky a nice look to it. All in all a good day to be out and about which was exactly what the Arianrhod family was doing, getting out to enjoy the weather while it lasted. There was rumor of a possible rain shower in the next day or so.
A large blanket with a checkered bring was laid out on the ground first with the help of Daz before Rosalind knelt down on the blanket carefully. She laid Hector down on his stomach, some toys placed before him so that he could play, before she set to rubbing sunscreen on first her two boys and then herself. No reason they should chance burning their sensitive skin she thought to herself, not wanting to risk it herself let alone risk her boys. She was most certain that a child with sunburn would be a difficult thing indeed to dead with... she tilted her head to one side, thoughtfully before she covered Alejo in sunscreen as well, "No reason to chance that either." She wasn't sure if the eel like tail could burn but she might as well slather it in the lotion as well as a precaution.
Alejo gave a sort of hissing sound as it was coated in sunscreen before its attention went to the set of plastic, rattling keys that had been laid out before Hector. A baby's toy that had the eel utterly fascinated to the point that it had snagged them from Hector's stash to play with them itself. The chimera boy didn't seem to notice or if he had noticed he didn't really mind that they had been taken. He had a pile of other things to play with... at the moment it was a mirror that held his attention. He was holding the handle in all four of his hands, starring into its reflective surface with slightly narrowed eyes.
He wasn't exactly sure why but something about his reflection bothered him... as though it weren't right. He lifted on hand to run his fingers along the surface before he set to shaking the item as though it would fix what was wrong. When it stilled again his young mind tried to wrap itself around what was wrong. He was... to short for one, to flat, to fluffy, hair was to short... the things came to mind in a rush of information that he tried to make sense of. It was all a bit of a blur at the moment, as though there were something he should remember but was having a hard time in grasping for some reason. It was a pain...
Hector dropped the mirror and reached for another toy, a better toy. It was a stuffed animal that Rosa had gotten for him, one that he rather liked because while it no longer existed on some worlds having been hunted to extinction, it thrived on Gaia. He lifted the spotted cat plush up so that he could set to chewing on it with his many sharp teeth. He liked this place, liked where he was living now. There were so many animals that he'd gotten to see when he went to that fun Animal Sanctuary with his mother.
"You like your kitty?" Rosa asked of Hector as she got done braiding Daz's hair so that it wouldn't hang down in the quiet boy's eyes anymore.
The chimera boy's ears turned toward her first before the rest of his head. He blinked his large, yellow eyes at her before he grinned around the stuffed animal in his mouth, and nodded rapidly. Yes, yes he did like his kitty!
Daz settled down on the blanket behind Rosa so that he could lean with his back against hers, resting in a contented manner. He watched the way his little brother played before letting his eyes close and set to dozing off in the warm sun. Hector gave him a momentary glance, for a moment considering throwing his stuffed cat at his brother to wake him up and make him play but decided against it. He didn't want to be mean to him when Daz was normally so nice and helpful... he turned his attention back to his plushy and soon he was contentedly playing with it once more while Rosa watched over him, Daz, and everything going on around them in the park.
She was used to people, to crowds, but since Hector and Daz had come into her care she had been far more careful in keeping an eye out. She didn't want to see either of her babies get hurt by a stranger after all. Much to her delight though the afternoon was quite uneventful from when they got their until just about the time she was planning on leaving when the rains came in a bit early leaving the three of them rushing for the dry interior of some stores that weren't to far from the park.

A Streaker?
Rosalind was sitting at one of the make up tables, starring at her reflection, preparing to put on her lip stick when she first heard it. There was a rather loud squealing sound that went up through the women in the room follow by long peels of laughter. She paused with the lipstick halfway to her mouth and turned to look over her shoulder wonder what the women were up too... whatever it was it had them sounding like a band of hyena with the way they were laughing. The woman pushed to her feet and went walking to the dressing room, peeking inside, "What's going on?" She asked of them curiously.
Just as the words left her mouth a small form when racing by her, out of the dressing room and down the hallway. Rosalind's eyes went wide and her mouth dropped open in surprise before she turned to look down the way the small for had gone, "H-Hector?!"
One of the other women, the only one who seemed to be able to find her voice and keep from completely dying from her laughter, gave a nod, "Ahh... hahahaha... yeah, seems to be." She said, lifting a hand to wipe tears of mirth from her brightly colored eyes, "Seems your boy is growing into quite a little streaker."
Rosalind lifted a hand to rub it against her temples, "When did this happen?" She murmured, mostly to herself. She had laid him down for a nap not all that long ago and now he was off, running around in a bigger form sans clothing. Then suddenly more information seemed to filter into her brain, "H-He's running..." He hadn't even been able to walk before, she'd carried her little baby everywhere and now he was running about... naked... Her eyes widened before she turned on her heel and went racing after him. Please, please stay in the back she thought to herself. All she needed was a naturalist child running amok through her place of business.
It was little more then pure luck on her part that had her catching up to her son, sweeping him up into her arms before he could escape through the door that divided one part of Dream from the other, the public part from the private part. She leaned against the wall, gasping in a breath before she looked down at her son who was looking far to amused with himself, "You should have come to me when you woke up." She told him, though wondered if that were what he was doing, looking through the dressing rooms for her? She could see why the squeals and laughter of a half dozen women would send him running...
Hector smiled, reaching his many arms up to wrap them around her, snuggling against her in a manner that showed that he was rather happy to have found her... or at least have been found by her.
"We need to find you something to wear Hector." She told her son as she started back toward the dressing room, a thoughtful look on her face. Everything she had for him wasn't going to fit anymore... he'd gone up a couple of sizes in this sudden spurt of his, "We will find you something temporary and then go shopping on my next day off." She was pleased with this, any reason to go shopping was something that should be celebrated.
A short while later Hector was roaming the dressing room in his makeshift clothing. A long shirt belonging to one of the women with holes cut in it for his extra arms and Alejo to get out through, along with a belt wrapped twice around his waist. It wasn't the most fashionable of outfits but it would work until they were able to get him something bigger to wear.

A Life Lesson
The first thing to peek over the counter was Alejo as he looked back and forth, then it was Hector's tall ears, his hands, and then he was pulling himself up. It was a rather easy task for someone like him who had four arms all of which seemed pretty strong. The devious pair settled onto the counter, looking back and forth before then both seemed to grin in a delighted manner as they saw exactly what they wanted. Food and lots of it! He had noticed this before, there were days that the place that he lived at had parties, food was laid out on a long table in a buffet style, and everyone ate, drank, and his mother would sing, some of the girls would dance.
Hector was to young, had no idea really as to where his mother worked, what the place was for, so it just seemed like it was often party after party. There wasn't anyone guarding the party fare today which had led the boy into the kitchen. It was good stuff, tasty stuff... he reached over to catch hold of one of the containers that had been delivered earlier. It was still warm and smelled really good... he was nearly drooling as he opened the container and looked inside. Pasta of some sort with various vegetables in it, a strangely colored sauce, and a bit of what looked like fish in it. He was nearly purring as he dug in with all four hands, lifting the pasta salad to his mouth and gulped it down, barely chewing. Alejo was only a moment behind, burying its face in the bowl to get its fair share.
The pan of pasta was nearly half gone when someone found the hungry boy and his strange tail all but swimming in it in their haste to gulp it down. The taste was something like Heaven he was just sure of it and he was considering checking what was in the other pans but couldn't quite seem to bring himself to abandon the current pan given it was still full of delicious food.
There was a squeak off to the side followed by giggles as a girl with hooves and a swishing horse tail walked forward toward where Hector and Alejo were perched on the counter with their ill gotten goods, "Well there you are cutie, we thought you were still watching your movie." She said as she walked over to him, looking down into the pan and her dark eyes got quite wide before she started to giggle again, "Well now, you are a growing boy aren't you? Just look at how much food you gulped down."
Hector looked up at her for a moment, two hands halfway to his mouth, the other two pausing in the pan before in slow motion he continued to eat, as though if he did it slowly it wouldn't be noticed. Alejo didn't bother to even lift its head, instead it seemed to speed up wolfing down the noodles even more when they had been found to get its fill.
The woman giggled before walking over to scoop up the boy in one arm and the pan in the other, "Come on now, since you guys had your hands and... well your head in it we can't serve it to the customers so its all yours." She assured them, walking out of the kitchen area and back toward the room where Hector's toys were located along with a television, DVD player, and a who ton of DVDs were waiting for them, "Here, how about we play in here? Your mother will come in to visit once everything is set for tonight." She told him.
The boy starred up at her for a long moment as he was set down, relaxing only when his food was set down in front of him. His eyes went back to the television screen, watching the lion movie as he returned to eating the pan that was now his and Alejo's alone. It would seem that they had some good pilfering skills not to mention that being cute had helped out like nothing else when it came to getting what they had wanted. A good lesson to recall for later. For now though all that mattered was food and his cool movie.

Sparkle! Sparkle!
Hector had found what had to be the most amazing treasure trove that he had ever seen in all of his life and to think the whole time it was sitting there on his mother's dresser just waiting to be found! His ears twitched rapidly as he crawled up onto the dresser the rest of the way. It was such a pretty box, covered in decorative flowers that were made of jewels while the vines and leaves seemed to be made of some sort of pretty, sparkling metal. He settled down in front of it and two of his hands took hold of it while the other two opened it up. He looked inside and a gasping sound escaped from both him and Alejo. Jewelry! He wasn't sure why but he felt his heart skip a beat as he looked at it. He'd never seen such riches before, had never been able to see it, hold it, ... wear it... his ears laid back and he felt confused. He wanted the pretty items, wanted to be able to wear such nice things. He reached into the box with one hand to take out a necklace that had a glittering stone in it the size of his eye and the same color as his scales, "Ohhh... dey sooos preeeettah." He breathed.
As he studied it he realized that the emerald wasn't the only stone, not here were smaller white stones all the way around the green one and he hugged it to his chest. He wanted it so badly, he'd never been able to wear nice things like this before, they just hadn't been in the cards and here he found a whole mass of them tangled up in a box on his mother's dresser. He gave another quick look back and forth before he set the box down so he could put the necklace on. He gazed down at it and for a moment he looked less like a young boy playing with his mother's jewelry and more like a woman that had been given the most wonderful gift in the world, if in the look in his eyes if nothing else.
Alejo starred at Hector for a long moment before moving around to look at its reflection in the surface of the gem before it nudged against the item. It really was pretty wasn't it? He lifted his gaze to look at the box that was still open before the tail went digging around in the box for an item as well. It reemerged with a bracelet hanging around its neck, the design that of three tones of gold braided together. It wiggled until the item fell down its neck to where it was thicker and stuck in place. It moved to show off to Hector what it was wearing before both seemed to grin at each other. The box was closed and abandoned as they hopped down off of the dresser and just as sneaky as they had been when they entered the room they left with their ill gotten shinies.
The pair were soon trotting along down the hall toward their own room with an unknown amount of money hanging around their necks. Much to their delight they were able to make it there safely and without being stopped. Surely that meant that what they had taken belonged to them now? The chimera boy trotted over to his large bed, crawling up onto it, and he patted a hand against his necklace and started to purr, feeling so excited. It was beautiful, so beautiful, and he felt giddy just being able to wear it. The thought 'to bad it wasn't a diamond ring' came to mind though he didn't quite understand why that was, just knew that it would be nice to have one. He starred down at the ring finger of his left hand then shrugged, laying back on his bed, "Wants a prettah ring." He murmured to Alejo who gave a nod though the eel tail seemed happy enough with the bracelet turned collar.
He flopped back on the bed and one set of arms crossed behind his head behind the other set rested on his chest, hands covering the shiny green gem, and as he was purring loudly he started to settle into sleep. Alejo watched Hector before curling up next to him like a snake would coil up and both were soon sleeping deeply, dreaming of various things, though oddly Hectors mind was on the ring to begin with before his dreams settled into something more on his age level, on sweet treats, animals, and the desire to ride around town on a giant dog instead of a horse like you always saw on the television.

A New... Friend...?
(( Ubara and Jacob belong to Jayoku, RP done via AIM ))
Rosalind was watching her son as he walked along next to her and was watching him closely. He was smiling like a cat who had swallowed someone's bird though she wasn't exactly sure why... unknown to her the boy was still wearing her emerald necklace though he'd tucked it away under his shirt as he found the item to be the most beautiful thing in the world. He was certain he'd never seen anything as beautiful before in all of his life though that thought along with some other ones mixed him up a bit. There were days he would remember things that had never happened to him before since he'd woke up and was given over to Rosa to take care of.
The boy was purring as one hand held onto that of his mother, one laid over the point of his chest where the necklace was hanging, and the other two were tucked into the pockets of his coat. He lifted his gaze up to watch his mother for a moment before looking ahead. They were almost to the park! He was quite excited as it had been some time since they had gone out, his mother was to busy with her work he thought ears twitching before laying back for a thoughtful moment. He didn't quite understand what she did, only that she seemed to have a lot of duties to take care of after the sun went down. Maybe when he was older it would make more sense to his mind, "There yet?" he asked of her.
The unicorn woman looked down at him before giving a chuckle, "Almost." She assured him, motioning with a hand to where the gates to the park were, not far ahead.
A pleased sound came from the chimera like boy before he broke away from her to toddle forward at a quicker pace that forced her to quicken her pace as well, her high heels clicking against the ground, "Ahh, come on Hector its hard for me to run in heels." She said, lifting her hands to cross them over her chest to help to cut down on the bouncing as she chased after her son who was happily running into the park.
Jacob hadn't been sure on how to deal with him. Not since he and his brother had grown anyway. He had hoped that once Ubara had gotten older he'd get over his rather violent tendencies, but instead he seemed to lash out quite suddenly and randomly. It was ..hard to know what exactly pressed his buttons but he thought that perhaps getting the young troll...creature some exercise would be the best thing for now. Snakes...well reptiles in general but snakes in particular had a calming effect on him. Making him nearly civil although snarky and sarcastic at least he wasn't trying to gouge you with those tusks of his. The lanky kid had only gotten lankier with age....it was hard to really tell if his growth spurt was normal or not..but he gave a shrug as they walked to the park.
"We ju bring meh 'ere?" The bald kid asked with a low growl his eyes narrowing as he scanned the area his ears twitching at every noise. The...strange thing Jacob found was the accent Ubarajin seemed to develope overnight after he grew.
"Why not Ubara? You like the outdoors don't you?" He inquired to his 'son' of sorts. He didn't like taking him to the zoo every day...to only have him stare at the gaint anaconda's as if he was in love with them..it was too unnatural.
Hector went happily racing into the park, looking back and forth for a moment before he gave a grin and rush along once more, face alight. Oh there was nothing better then the outdoors, look at that! There were birds here! Oh and was that a squirrel? He went running over toward one, causing the birds to flutter into the air then he was going toward the fluffy tailed rodent... and when it ran up the nearest Hector tried to follow, his four arms and feet all seeming to work well in the attempt though he got got so far before he found himself stuck.
Alejo, the boy's shimmering blue eel tail starred at Hector before it gave a hissing sound much like laughter as he realized that the one he was a part of had gotten himself stuck in a classical cat move.
Rosa paused in her running to watch her son for a long moment before giving a groan, "Hector..." She walked over to the edge of the side walk, pausing there as she looked at the ground, debating on if she could make it to where he located in the shoes she was wearing at the moment.
Jacob was trying to reason with his 'son' to get him to understand there was more to life than being annoyed at everyone and everything.
"I dun care...dis nah wa I wanna do..." He retorted sounding rather harrumphed like an old man.
"But Ubara...you like the outdoors...remember you always have a nack for finding reptiles out here.." Jacob tried to get him to see reason but Ubara was...staring at something, he had even stopped walking his eyes trained upon a small boy in a tree. But he wasn't looking at the boy, he was looking at his tail. That...snake like tail. He moved towards the kid and seemed to be ignoring the woman or..hadn't realized she was there until he reached up to try and lure the snake thing down. He gave a sound sounding like a hiss between his teeth raising his two fingers up towards the branch.
Jacob watched his son with a curious look and he hurried up to catch up with him before he looked to the woman and then the child in the tree. "Oh.! is everything okay here?"
Hector blinked a couple times as he heard the hissing sound, looking over at Alejo as though he thought the sound came from his tail, the tail shook its head and both of them found themselves looking down at the hand that was being reached out to them. The chimera boy shifted to sit down on the branch he'd gotten himself near to and looking down at the one under him. Hector's ears turned forward and he starred for a long moment, "Ahh... ele... phant?" He murmured, sounding as though he were questioning Alejo as he starred the one with the tusks. He didn't look like the elephants as the zoo but he seemed to have the same sort of teeth...
Rosa turned to look over at Jacob and gave the man her best smile, "Ahh, yes. My boy's body just seemed to get ahead of his mind for a moment." She said with a soft giggle, "He's a bit like a little kitten."
Jacob wasn't really sure if Ubara should be near the other child. He...wasn't exactly the most docile of kids. With a violent manner he could only dread the outcome.
"Ah..well Ubara maybe you should come back over here," He started but the troll child shook his head his eyes still fastened on that tail as if mesmerized.
"Dey snake ting..." He responded simply he gave a limp shrug of his shoulder as he then wiggled his fingers together and made the sound again trying to draw it down towards him.
Alejo glanced at Hector for a moment then moved forward toward those wiggling fingers, finding the hissing sound almost as interesting as Hector found it. This guy was neat looking Hector thought, wondering if the guy with the elephant teeth knew that he had markings on him that looked like Alejo. He shifted himself so that he was in a precarious sort of position so he could reach a scaly hand out, wanting to touch him. He had neat ears too... they weren't like elephant ears though which made the boy really wonder what it was that this guy was. Whatever it was he was quite interesting...
Rosa looked over at the man for a moment, taking in the look on his face then looked a little worried, wondering if perhaps she should abandon her shoes and go pull her son out of the tree and out of reach of the older boy that was trying to reach out to him. Something about the man's expression made her uneasy.
His ears twitched as he felt the breeze of something trying to touch him, he jerked his head back a growl emitting from his throat his eyes narrowing as he glared at Hector. He seemed to go back into a lull dazed like state when he re focused on the snake like tail. His hand shifted to reach for the tail not Hector. It was quite obvious he held no interest in the boy himself.
Jacob moaned and then looked to the woman, "Uh...I am sorry about this...Ubara is...um...quite fond of snake like things. But I don't think your child's tail..is..quite a snake is it?"
Hector's ears gave a twitch, turning forward before they laid back against his head as though he were a little confused. This was... odd. He'd never met anyone that growled at him before he thought to himself, it would seem as the boy with the tusks seemed to like Alejo better which caused the chimera to pout a little bit. He wanted to play with the one under him too, why did only his tail get to play with him? He gave a little sound in his throat like a cat might make, leaning forward a little more.
Rosa looked to Jacob before shaking her head, "No, Alejo isn't a snake at all." She murmured, watching as the eel tail moved in closer toward that reaching hand, watching it closely, "Its... umm... its an eel."
Jacob gave a groan, this would be the first time Ubara say an eel...he probably didn't know the difference. It looked similar to a snake but it certainly didn't feel like one..or act like one. So did it matter to Ubara if he THOUGHT it was a snake rather than it being an actual snake?
"We better stop him, Ubara likes reptiles...snakes are about the only thing that keeps him calm." He murmured as he then chewed on his lower lip. "But if its not a snake well..I don't know how he will react.." he murmured as he stepped forward.
"Ubara come on now we need to get the boy down not...stare at his tail..." He tried to reason with his son who only tore his gaze away to toss the man the most intense death glare. It caused Jacob to shiver, he didn't like that look Ubara gave him more often than not. Even if he was just a child...
"Come on Ubara.."
"Ju stay outta it." He grunted as he stood on his tip toes so he could touch the snake thing as soon as it got within reach.
Rosa gave a nod of her head, "Yeah, it might be a good idea." She agreed, she'd gotten shocked by Alejo on a couple of occasions when she'd startled the tail and she didn't want to risk that happening to a strange child. She took a half step forward when the boy called Ubara threw that death glare at the one she had thought was his father and seemed to pin the man with it. She blinked a couple of times and seemed to find herself frozen in place as well even if the glare was exactly thrown at her.
Alejo titled its head to the side before it moved forward a bit more and tapped its nose to the fingers that were reaching out toward it, not exactly knowing the rules to the game the other was proposing. All the tail seemed to know was the other wanted it to come closer and kept reaching out so it seemed to figure it was going to get pet. Hector gave a pout, reaching one of his scaly hands out once more when it seemed that Alejo was going to get all the attention, not fair at all! The tusked boy should play with them both!
Jacob shook his head when Ubara looked back to Hector and he finally took a step forward and he reached out to Ubara and took him firmly by the shoulder. The other boy flinched and recoiled against the touch, one would think he had never been touched before...despite having been handled a lot as toddler he gave a sharp sound before retreating from Jacob his eyes giving that dangerous look again.
"Dun do dat..." he growled. He didn't like being touched without permission.
"Ubara...come on don't act like that..." The boy growled again, "We need to get him down.then you can.." he trailed off, "play.." he groped for the word as he knew that wasn't exactly what Ubara wanted to do ...
Hector gave a pout when the other boy was pulled out of his reach and he grasped at him for a moment before he sat back on the tree branch. Even Alejo seemed a bit upset about Ubara getting pulled away since it meant that it didn't get to play whatever game they had been about to play. Hector gave a squeal of surprise when he found himself plucked out of the tree by his mother who had moved forward when Jacob had moved. The chimera boy found himself placed on his feet and he looked up at her for a moment, then to Jacob, and finally to Ubara and he seemed confused. Something was going on that was above his head again, "Ahh...? Huh?"
Rosa ruffle his hair gently, "Its alright." She assured her son, not wanting him to worry about anything since he was to little to have to do that.

Not Exactly Going Well
(( Ubara and Jacob belong to Jayoku, RP done via AIM ))
Jacob didn't like the look Ubara was giving him but he'd rather not risk the child hurting the other strange looking kid.
"Ubara...it isn't a snake. It's an eel okay? I didn't want you to be disappointed..." He explained desperately hoping that it would come across to Ubara and get him to back off.
Ubara watched Hector and when his father explained that ..it wasn't a snake he felt his disappointment grow he gave a grumbling remark and then kicked as a branch before picking it up and stabbing it repeatedly into the soft earth. He wasn't happy that much was certain....but at least he wasn't lashing out at someone with that stick of his.
Jacob looked back to Rosa and looked apologetic for Ubara's behavior..
"Ubara...doesn't really know how to interact with ..others well.." He explained.
Hector looked at Ubara for a long moment then got a saddened look in his eyes as the other boy seemed suddenly to not want anything to do with either Alejo or himself, just because Alejo wasn't a snake? He blinked then held up his scaled hands to show them off to the other boy, as though he were hoping he could make it up to the other by showing that his hands were like a snake were at least, "H-Hey... see?" He said to one wielding the stick.
Rosa looked at Hector, hands laying on him to keep him from wandering forward then gave her attention to Jacob, "I see, well I will make sure that Hector doesn't get to close until they are used to each other."
Jacob moved to intervene as Ubara lunged at Hector, the troll like child was growling as he lashed out the stick hitting Jacob on the arm rather painfully. Using his obvious age and size advantage he grabbed the wood and yanked it away from his son who only looked about to head butt him instead. He tossed the stick as far away as he could, it landed with a dull thud against the forest floor whilst he grappled with his lanky child.
"Ubara! Calm down!" He pleaded as the they continued to grapple.
Hector's eyes went wide as he got yanked backwards away from the other boy by his mother when she caught hold of the back of his shirt. She pulled her boy to her and hugged him close and he could only stare in shock. His eyes were just huge and surprised and just... hurt. His ears laid back then before he gave a low, hissing sound in his throat much like a cat would make. He didn't understand this at all, he had only tried to make friends with him and the other guy wanted to hit him with a stick!?
"Ahh... H-Hector... come on now, love. Relax..." She said, hugging him more tightly, trying to drag him backwards into her arms, to keep him from getting himself hurt by the larger boy who seemed hell bent on doing just that.
It was a scrap that was for sure, but at least the child couldn't do much harm as his tusks were far enough they couldn't reach anything vital as Jacob wrestled him nearly at arms length. He desperately needed to find Ubara a hobby or ..something to stop him from going ballistic like this. After a moment he managed to knock Ubara's feet out from under him and he went down the lanky blue skinned kid laid there in a daze a moment or two before he pushed himself into a sitting position. His gaze was narrowed though he glared at Jacob it flitted to Hector and Rosa before going off to stare at nothing in particular on the ground. His hand instantly went to pick up a rock and drop it on the earth floor over and over again.
Jacob sighed knowing that for the moment Ubara wasn't going to do anything else ...
"I'm really sorry about this..." he apologized again.
Rosa gave a bit of a nod of her head, "Perhaps we should leave him be then." She murmured, looking Ubara over very closely, her look no longer the most friendly look. She wouldn't normally be to bothered by the other boy's temperament but that her son's safety had been pulled into her bothered her. She gently ruffle Hector's hair, "Come on now, love. He isn't the sort that wants to play, alright?" She murmured to her boy, "He would rather play on his own."
Hector looked up at him for a long moment, ears turning forward as he listened to her soothing voice before he finally gave a nod of his head, "Ahh... yes." He murmured, the other boy didn't want to play with them because they weren't snakes. He understood he thought to himself then moved a few steps back away from Ubara, putting room between them. He should leave him alone then, it was best right? He looked back and forth before trotting forward. Maybe... maybe if he could find one of those snake things then the boy with the elephant teeth would like him?
Ubara's yellow eyes watched Hectors movement, his ears perking with each foot fall he made before he stared more. He continued to pick up the stone and drop it, though it was slowing down his interest laying in what Hector was doing.
Jacob went to Rosa still looking apologetic for his son's behavior.
"he..is always like this..I was hoping he'd grow out of it...as a toddler i could bribe him to behave with going to the zoo to see the snakes. Now he is smarter and realizes that the trips are too brief..." He sighed wondering what else he could do to help his boy.
Hector paced back and forth a moment in front of an area where the grasses started to get taller and the bushes thicker, he looked over his shoulder a moment at Ubara then back again. It was a bit scary in there he thought to himself but he took a deep breath and moved forward, crawling under the twisted branches of the foliage. Let see... he needed a snake, where were the snakes... the chimera boy sniffed at the air and tried to figure out what he was smelling. It was a twisted up group of scents, they could be almost anything... he wasn't very good at telling them apart yet though, "Snakes, Alejo." He told his tail, hoping to get help from the eel tail in finding what they were after.
Rosa watched ehr son as he crawled under the bushes and then gave a little shake of her head, trying to smother a sigh, "Hes going to be a mess when he comes out of there." She murmured to herself, which meant catching him and getting him wrangled into a bath. Her eyes turned to looking between Jacob and her boy, "That sounds tough... I wish that we could help, Hector needs more friends himself. he spends far to much time among the girls at my shop..." She was wondering if it would end up having a negative effect upon him if he continued as he was. She looked at Jacob and gave him a bright smile, "Perhaps he just needs more socializing? Though he seems to be a bit on the aggressive side... were he older I would suggest..." She trailed off and gave a giggle, not wanting to end that thought given where it had been going.
Jacob was innocent enough to have no idea where she was leading with that last statement.
"Older? I am afraid he will be worse older..." he answered honestly flicking a look to notice that Ubara was on the move. In hunting mode and he was hunting Hector. s**t.
"Ubara stop! NO!" he shouted though the blue skinned child looked over at Jacob offered a sound that was strangely like a hiss before darting into the bushes, not exactly where Hector had gone but off to the side.
Dammit dammit dammit! Jacob swore internally as he didn't want Ubara to get a hand on the woman's kid. He darted forward but the bushes had already stilled. Ubara in hunt mode was like trying to spot a wild animal that didn't want to be found.
Rosa turned quickly as she heard him cry out, trying to try to figure out what was going on but she didn't see anything then swallowed a bit hard as she realized that was the problem, "Ahh... oh no..." Her eyes flicked back and forth before she started toward where she had last seen her son when he went into the bushes. She had to find him, to make sure that he didn't get himself into trouble with that angry boy.
Hector seemed to have no idea what was going on, instead all of his attention was focused on what was going on in front of him. There was one of those animals out there somewhere, there just had to be! He would look and look and he would find it he thought in a determined manner. He used one set of arms to crawl while the other was used to move branches out of the way. He didn't really seem to realize that there was someone else nearby in the bushes with him that could be a danger, didn't even realize how far away from the adults he was getting. He just knew that the farther into the more heavily over grown area he went the more animals he could smell. That was a good sign!
Jacob looked desperately around moving branches around trying to spot the blue skin belonging to Ubara. s**t. You'd think someone with blue skin would be easy to spot...but noooo he tended to blend into the shadows. Frick.
"Ubara! Get back here! Leave the boy alone!" he shouted hoping that Ubara may smarten up and come back..but severely doubted it.
Ubara was stalking Hector, slow deliberate movements through the underbrush. An expert hunter for one his age..maybe it was a race thing..whatever he was exactly seemed suited to this. He still had a rock in hand flipping it over and over between his thumb and one finger as if he itched to throw it.
Rosa paced for a moment in front of the bushes before she started to move along them, she had to find her son before he got hurt she thought to herself. She felt her stomach sinking a bit at the idea, that he could get hurt or worse because of some child that needed to be kept on a leash! She gave a shake of her head, trying to keep herself calm, to keep reacting to terribly given the dangerous child's father was nearby, the man seemed kind enough but the child... she didn't know what to think.
Hector paused a moment, ears flicking before they turned forward. He could hear something... his eyes widened a little before he started to crawl forward a little more quickly. He looked a rocky out cropping that was there in front of him. He tilted his head to the side before he started to crawl forward, up and onto it. He gave a purring sound as he saw a long, darkly colored form slid off the other side of the rock, "Ah! T-There..." He breathed, was that a snake? Or a lizard... something else? He wasn't sure but he followed along after it, wanting to catch hold of the tail of the creature that was escaping him. He didn't want to let it get away from him just in case it was really the thing he was seeking.

Gift for Ubara
(( Ubara and Jacob belong to Jayoku, RP done via AIM ))
Ubara had been watching like a cougar may or some other large cat. He watched waited, quietly in the bushes he noticed the kid move faster and when it felt like he should lunge he paused. The kid had seen something of interest. It caught his interest too. Was it a snake? He moved out of concealment nearly instantly at the prospect of finding a serpent. Completely ignoring the hunt for Hector as there was promise of a snake he could hold.
Hector gave a happy sound as he continued to crawl along, moving around the rock in pursuit of the tail. He was almost purring as he could see that he was catching up. He reached his scaled hands out while using the clawed ones to crawl with. Closer, closer... and grab! Hector caught hold of the snake by its middle and picked it up much to the distaste of the reptile. It swished back and forth in his grasp, hissed, and turned to glare at him in a rather unamused manner. The chimera boy gave a happy sound, plopping back on his backside and lifted his other set of hands up to pet them over the snake in a soothing manner before he started to purr. He was pleased with this find and something about Hector seemed to calm the animal and despite being young his touch was careful, he wasn't squeezing the creature, he wasn't hurting it, just holding it.
He pushed up to his feet them, "Need to find." He told the snake, having no idea how close by Ubara really was.
Ubara's yellow eyes latched onto the snake that Hector held in his hands, he seemed nearly mesmerized by it. He was moving towards Hector at a slow speed a hesitant speed. He came to stand before Hector not looking at him but at the snake. He blinked a couple of times staring at it, it was small but so beautiful. He reached a hand out gently, there was nothing menacing about him at this particular moment. He just wanted the snake.
The chimera gave a little jump when he found the other seemed to just suddenly be there. He turned to look up at him for a long moment, starring. he seemed so happy all of a sudden which was a change. Better to see him in a happy mood then one where he was all grouchy and wanting to beat him with a stick. His ears turned forward before he lifted his four hands up to Ubara, "Present?" He murmured, purring at the other boy in a hopeful manner, hoping that this would be enough to make a truce with the other boy.
Ubara blinked as he breaking out of his trance he looked to Hector a slight scowl on his face but his gaze soon returned to the snake. Present....? He nodded his head slowly and then grumbled, "Jya..." What he was referring to was...not clear though it seemed that he was willing to befriend Hector if that meant he could have the snake.
A rather happy sound came from Hector and he took another step closer to the older boy, lifting his hands up a bit more offering the small, scaly creature to Ubara. This was a good idea he thought to himself, he only wished at first that he were able to find a more impressive reptile as he hadn't been sure if a little one would be good enough. It seemed to work out though as even the little snake had been enough to make up to Ubara for Alejo not being a snake, "Here, present." He said again, urging the taller boy to take the snake for himself.
Ubara reached forward but didn't grab the snake, he held such a deep respect and awe for them he waited for the snake to come to him. "Why find? Wut ju want from meh?" He inquired in a low tone as he didn't want to startle the small reptile.
Hector watched closely as the snake moved to flick its tongue at Ubara for a moment before it decided to slither forward from his hands to the hands of the troll boy. The chimera seemed only to smile more, clapping his hands in a hapy manner, this was going well. Though as he was asked what he wanted he found himself tilting his head to the side, "Huh? Want?" He looked a little confused then gave a smile, "Be friends." He said with a nod before he turned to look around, sniffing at the air to see what other sorts of animals were around. He could smell a bunch of them but didn't see any that were within catching distance.
Ubara gave ..a rather serene looking smile as he gazed down at the snake, he then sat down and watched it closely. Noticing the color of the scales to the color of its eyes and the size of its head. It was small, but it seemed more beautiful than any other creature he had ever laid eye's on.
"Friend?" He echoed the word as he reached out with his other hand to let the snake explore on his large fingers. "Why want ma friend? What ju get outta dat?"
He was looking confused against as he was asked what he got out of it. He tilted his head to the side, blinking a couple times then shrugged, "Get... a friend." He finally said, not sure how else to answer since there wasn't exactly any motive behind what he was doing aside from his hoping find the snake for Ubara would make him happier. He gave a purring sound as he turned back to the troll when he couldn't find anything else to sneak after and smiled up at him, ears flicking back and forth.
Ubara didn't really know how to respond to that, but he got a snake out of the deal so he guessed being Hectors 'friend' couldn't be that horrible. He gave a quick jerk of his head that indicated a nod. Though he was quite content to just continue sitting there and play with the snake.
"Very young dis one.." he murmured looking at just how small the snake was. "Common garder snake..not like dey one at deh zoo...dat one biiig." he commented.
Hector settled down to sit down in front of his new friend, purring happily. He had done it! With the help of the snake he had been able to make Ubara happy enough so that they could make friends! His ears turned forward as the older boy told him what sort of snake exactly it was that he'd caught for Ubara. He tilted his head to the side before smiling, "Didn't see big snake when we went." He murmured, he'd seen some neat cats at the zoo and met some nice people but he hadn't gotten to see the snakes, especially one that was 'biiig' which he imagined must be one that was a massive monster of a snake that he found himself wanting to meet.
"This one is nice snake." He said, motioning to the little snake that hadn't tried to bite him at all when he'd caught it, it seemed quite laid back in fact which made him quite happy.
