Okay...here we go, folks! I'm going to try as much as I can to explain this...since I'm pretty difficult in explaining...
This is the Final Fantasy Freaks guild's RP thread. The plot...where...so far, there is no plot. Not until I type some more ^^, you'll see. Anyway, start off with your own storyline into how you had entered into the world or something like that and then at the end of your story comes a tragedy...I don't know, you can make up the tragedy.
The only requirement right now is that you'll receive a piece of an amulet of somesort. You don't know what kind it is, what it's made out of, nor the importance of it, yet you keep it. All members will run into each other eventually by the storyline.
Okay...that sound clear enough? It's my first time RPing and I'm just giving it a try....Anyway, here's my part of the RP to start off with:
Darkness....
Where am I? I don't know...forests of some sort, but I've always seen forests. I'm not sure where I am, but I know that it's a forest of somesort. Dark, gloomy, cold. Suits my personality. Stretching out my limbs, I grab my weapon and set out to leave on the trail in the forest, pulling my cloak closer around me as I go and off into the unknown, clutching the amulet my mother had given to me long ago....

here's my story , it's not that good, but oh well :
Phey: arg... it's bothering me again.
*phey wonders to a lake a dark forest, she sets down her star-shaped eyepatch to clean her empty eye socket.*
Phey: that should keep the pain away for awhile...
*she reaches and grabs her patch and puts it back on when....*
phey: OW!! what the!!
*she rips the patch off and plucks a small amulet from the socket*
Phey: hmm?... pretty. i think i'll keep it....
*brrr* it's cold......

Shuichi
Okay, here it is. VERY elaborate. I'm pretty tired, though, so don't expect it to be great.
"Hah! If THAT'S all you've got, then you may as well give up!" Shuichi shouted as the bandits attempted to fight him. No matter who the opponent was, Shu always came out on top. "WHOA! No you don't!" He exclaimed as one of the bandits attempted to stab him. With a quick shot, though, that particular opponent hastily became less of a problem. Finally, he stopped, and said "Okay, enough games!" That's as far as you'll go!" That's when he started glowing with a strange aura, jumped into the air, and shouted Beacon Charge!!!!" With that, a ball of 'altered' energy formed in his guns, and he bombarded the remaining bandits with a scattered shower of white and black energy beams. "AH!" Shu cried out, realizing how foolish it was for him to use such a dangerous Limit Break against such easy opponents, knowing that it hurts him, as well. "Lousy Bandits! I could have already made it to the city had it not been for these guys! Couldn't have come at a worse time! I'm running behind now!"
Shuichi Lockehart, age 15, lost his parents in a tragic accident two years ago. He was supposed to be killed as well, but escaped such a fate. However, he has lost all memory of his past, and only has two cherished momentos: A spellbook and two (dual) pistols. Also, ever since that fateful day, he has been attacked by bandits working for an organization called the "Inundation". He has learned many new 'talents', and improved his gunfighting since then as well. He became a treasure hunter a year ago, realizing that this was the only way that he could sustain himself. His newest task is to explore an ancient cave, and retrieve a certain relic, an amulet. He retrieved the amulet, so the only thing left to do was to return to his client.
Two days later...
"WHAT?!?! What do you mean, he left?!" Shu exclaimed. "Ye, the boss left af'er waitin for ye" the henchman explained. "...Shoot" Shuichi said quietly, "blasted bandits! I KNEW this would happen..." "Hey, I ain't done yet." the henchman continued, "He said he wan's ta meet ye in some dark forest around here. Some'hin special." "Oh, I see..." Tim replied. "I guess I have no choice then, right?" he left, preparing to find this 'dark forest' if it killed him...

Shaolin
mmm hope my story makes sense...
Ten kilometres into the darkness of the forest two Villagers from from the town nearby nervously walk along the winded trail, anticipating danger on every step.. Both villagers sigh a relief of comfort as they check that their precious bags of gold remain in their pockets. A gust of wind flies by and the villagers jump.
"Haha..you're scared of wind now too?" said one of them.
"You're one to talk," said the other, "you know I kinda feel sorry for the kid we stole from now. I mean, he was lost in this dark forest and we still took advantage of him."
"Ah, don't get all soft-hearted on me now, we're almost back to town and once we start gambling you better shut up or you'll ruin my luck."
They take faster steps out of the forest, comforting each other with their words.
Out of the impossibly dark shadows of the forest arises an even darker figure, holding the two bags of gold the two villagers had before.
"They 470 gil from a kid? Not very nice."
The dark shadow goes deeper in the labyrinth of the forest to search for the kid, zooming by each brach without a sound and as quick and agile as can be. He passes by a small stream, and sees the boy standing by the bank. The boy stood very still and had a grin on his face. The dark figure decided it was too much of a hassel to talk to him about the gil, and he would just dash by and drop the gil in the boy's pocket. But as he zooms by the the turns around instantly, grabbing him by the throat and meeting the dark figure face to face.
"My aren't we quick...but I wouldn't do that if I were you."
The boy turns into a tall skinny man and punches the dark figure to a tree hard. The tall man continues to talk.
"You don't know who I am do you...but I know all about you...Shao the Thief. At last I've found you. I know you woudln't be able to resist helping a little boy, for you as a child have always been just as unfortunate."
The two villagers from before appear from behind the man, turning into two wolves.
"Who the hell are you?" shouted Shao.
"You will soon seen, hahaha. This will be fun! It begins now, follow the path of your most treasured item and it will lead you to the answers. The man and his two pets vanish, and Shao is left there to ponder.
'Most treasured item...'
Shao reaches for his pocket and pulls out an amulet. It beings to glow dimly, which it has never done before. Confused as ever, Shao climbs atop a tall tree of the forest. All around the rest of the forest he sees the same dim of light shining. They all seem to be heading towards deeper into the massive forest. With his mind set, Shao sets off to find the truth...

I stop in my tracks. Something's following me.
"Who's there?" I shout.
Nothing.
Quickly, I turn around once again and continue on my way only again to hear that hissing sound. This time, though, I stop and wait. Footsteps come towards me, whispering,
'Naoko....Naoko....'
"What do you want?" I ask.
'Beware the prophecy....'
I swiftly turn around, hearing those words, but whoever was following me slipped out of the way. Katana in my hand, my crimson eyes search for the creature, but of course it never reveals itself. Concentrating hard, I search for the fire within me, but instead, the image of my amulet flashes by. I open my eyes and look down to see the necklace glowing softly beneath my cloak. Odd, that never happened before.

Phey: i gotta find warmth.....................hmm?
*she looks down to see the amulet in her hand glowing as she walks deeper into the forest*
Phey: huh?... what's it doing?... whatever...
*she looks up to see several of the same glow in the dark forest. she starts walking toward one when she suddenly heard a voice behind her*
voice: "who's there?"
Phey: "this place is creeping me out..."
*she quickens her pace, looking back to see if anyone's following her and runs into something... or someone...*

Finally! Shu thought as he began walking through the forest. However, the instant he stepped past a sort of 'barrier' of trees and deeper into the forest, everything became quite dark. Not afraid in the slightest, he kept moving deeper in until he saw something strange. It seemed to be a sort of sage. Though he never met this sage, he still stuck out particularly in Shuichi's mind, as if he was familiar... Shu started running to the sage, faster and faster, until the sage suddenly disappeared! That's when Shu realized that he was...well, lost. Huh? Oh, I see now... Shuichi thought, this is someone's idea of a joke... But, before he could figure out who, he noticed that the recovered artifact started glowing... He felt a strange force, as if being pulled in a certain direction..."Okay, okay!" Shuichi exclaimed, 'talking' to the amulet, "I'll GO your way! Sheesh! What do those 'scientists' have on this thing, a tracker?!" So, he started walking in the direction that the amulet seemed to be 'pointing'. He walked about 20 steps before running right into something...

Breezing through the forest, Shao hears voices of the past...
"Take this amulet. One day it will lead you to me"
"No don't leave, please!"
"I must, there is no other choice."
**BUMP**
Shao hears a loud crash from nearby and quickly stops. He hears groans and mumbles. He approaches with caution and hides atop a high branch to see what it is...
The prophecy...what did that voice mean by that prophecy?
Too engrossed in the glow, I didn't realize that someone bumped into me, and I stumbled. Instinct took over then, and I pulled out my katana only to stop when I looked back up to meet the eye of a star...

As Shao approaches the place of the noise he notices there were two people on the ground, and they both seem to have a similar amulet that Shao possess. Shao's amulet begins to glow brighter and brighter, as if it was talking to the other two amulets. The bright light attracted the attention of the two people to look in Shao's direction; they have noticed him. Shao wanted to run, but the curiousity of the amulet made him decide: he needed to know what was going on. Shao jumps down from the branch and faces the two people, who now gets up.
He doesn't even know where to start. The other two looks just as confused as he is.
Finally, after a long while of staring, someone decides to break the silence...
Phey: AAAAH!! HOLY CRAP!!
*phey turns around quickly to see the light bounce off a katana, leaving her stunned for a second*
Phey: A KNIFE!!
*she then jumps backwards and whips out her gun, aiming it at the blury figure.... she lets her one eye focus to see that the blury figure was a girl and lowers the gun*
Phey: who... who are you?
*suddenly someone backs into her*

*phey, startled by the second figure falls to the ground, but notices that both have items of the same glow... she's speechless."
Phey:.....?
*on the ground looking up at the two, she notices a third person in the trees....*
Phey: "[thinking to herself]... what is going on?"
I look at the other girl cautiously. Even though she has lowered her gun, I haven't yet lowered my katana.
"Who are you?" she asks.
"I have the same question," I coldly reply and resheath my katana. I notice that she's carrying the same amulet as mine. It's also glowing. My eyes widen at the sight.
"You...you have the same as mi---"
A crash above us cuts off what I was about to say. Not able to control myself anymore, a dark pool of nothing appears underneath us and drags the inhabitant above to the groud while my eyes shift to black. I stop myself, sensing human, and my eyes turn back to its normal crimson color.
"OOOOwwww....." a muffled voice under the bushes says.

Phey: What the heck is going on! glowing things! Dark pools!! And who the heck are you people!!
*phey, overcome by all that's happening starts to lose it and aims her gun again trying to decide the target of the 3 people. "do it, kill them..." a voice says to her... she starts sweating a cold sweat, her heart starts pounding! Suddenly she drops her gun and cluches her face*
Phey: AAAAAAAH!! STOP IT!!
*she faints... mumbling "get out of my face..."*
I catch the girl as she faints who is muttering "Get out of my face..."
Geez, this is just what I need. A girl with a gun who's confused and a guy who just crashed down into the bushes. Why can't people just leave me alone? I wonder if the other guy's okay...kinda overreacted...
I set the girl down to the ground and cover her with my cloak just in case someone decided to run in and kidnap her without me realizing it. The cloak should camoflauge her well. I also whisper a cure spell in the archane language of my home before setting off to see if the other unknown is all right.
My amulet has stops glowing. I think it was because I came in contact with the girl. Or maybe it was something else....
My eyes ache from using that power I have. I got to stop using it without thinking...

I watched as blue particles of light surround the unconscious girl and she glows for a second, then the glow fades. I continue to stare as the just-arrived girl takes care of the unconscious girl, overwhelmed by the current events. That girl can use magic! Things happening too fast, I can't get a hold of myself to figure out what's going on. Do they all know each other? ...I really want to know what is going on. I try to gather myself to speak.
*turns to Ayame*
Shao: "umm...the amulet...where did you get it?"
Shu, trying to avoid the chaos, was way too jumpy to be able to stand the confusion, and finally says "OKAY! That's it!" and casts a spell to temp. paralyze everyone (they can still talk though). "Now..." he continues, calming down, "Who are you all, and why do you ALL have amulets like mine?"
"Are you okay?" I ask the downed stranger, who seems to be shaking his head out of disbelief.
"Uh...yeah...I'm okay....That...that amulet, where did you get it?" he asks me.
"Amulet? You mean this?" I take out the necklace again. It glows a soft blue in response to my touch.
"Yeah...that..." he replies.
"My...my mother gave it to me long ago..." I softly reply. Memories begin to flood back in my head.
As Shu asked about the amulets, he heard something strange....As if the relic was actually talking to him! "Huh?! Oh, so that's it..." Shuichi said out loud, waited a moment, then said "I understand now. So, there are mulitple amulets.......What?......Put them together?.....What do you mean?.......OH! So they are all PIECES of one big amulet, right?.....Okay.......But why???.....Hmmmm....Are you sure? That doesn't seem to make sense....Ummmm, okay..." Shuichi stops 'talking' to the amulet, or whatever it was he was talking to, and begins to explain the situation to the strangers carrying the pieces...

Shao *to Ayame*: "why is it glowing like this...? Can you tell me?"
Shao *to Shuichi*: "Your too. Did you guys call me to come here?"
Not sensing any danger from either of them, Shao begins to calm down. Finally he takes a deep breath and 'paralyze' wears off. He looks at his own amulet and the dim red glow continues to shine...
Shao: "This amulet was given to me from someone very special. I was fortold that one day it will lead me back to that person...so please, I need to know what's going on."
"Okay, I'll try to explain this as well as I can..." Shuichi started, taking a breath, "We got these pieces through our own means, right? Right. However, these amulets are merely pieces to a whole. This 'whole' amulet is actually some sort of shield, or something, with a crest that was used for Good an righteousness in the early wars of Good against Evil. It helped Good prevail over Evil. Eventually, Good won, but before the Evil was sealed, It sattered thid shield, breaking it into many pieces and scattering it across the world for Evil's return. But, the crest on here can be used to 'track' the other pieces by glowing. Now that Evil HAS returned somewhat, these pieces are supposed to be put back together and used against Evil once again...... at least, that's what 'IT' told me..." As Shu finished, he pondered one question: If this shield-crest-thingy was broken apart by Evil, then why didn't archeologists put it back together to seal Evil forever...?
"IT?...How can I believe your sources are true?"
Shu was stunned at the question. "Ummmmm....well, I don't know how to explain this.... the amulet....I think the amulet is TALKING to me. IT told me all of this. I couldn't know all of this otherwise. But.....can't you hear it? Or am I the only one???"

Phey: "no, the little bugger talks to me too... ever since i found this thing by the lake here..."
*she shudders at the thought of finding the amulet in her eye socket, but puts it in the back of her mind and gets up from underneath the cloak..."
Phey: "i believe this is your's, thank you."
*she hands the girl back her cloak with a wide smile on her face*
Phey:"sorry 'bout me crackin my egg, is everyone okay? By the way, the name's Pharoah Phey, you can just call me Phey ^_^"
*she attempts to lighten the mood with her friendly greeting*
"OH! I forgot to introduce myself!" Shu realized, still somewhat jumpy from the events of today. "My name is Shuichi Lockehart, but you can call me Shu for short. Anyway, I'm glad someone else hears that voice, too. Otherwise, this would be MUCH more difficult." Shu finished, smiling at Phey cheerfully.
"I've never seen it glow like this...I do hear the voice, but I know it's my mother's...she gave it to me before she had died," I reply. "My name's Naoko. Naoko Rolfe."
Everyone stares at me curiously, but I'm used to it, putting back on the cloak and pulling the hood to cover my eyes. My eyes tend to unnerve some people.
"I'm sorry about overreacting that time...Shu," I apologize to the man who had just recently arrived. "Sometimes I tend to lose sense of reality and use my powers without even thinking."
It seems that I'm the only one who has some sort of information about the legend. I take a deep breath, not used to talking to so many at once....
"What Shu has explained is somewhat correct. In the olden days, there was a legend of a great war. The planet wasn't like what we see it; it was divided into two worlds: Astantia and Morcadia. Morcadia was a world full of evil, and tried to take over what seemed to be the middle ground between the two worlds. However, the guardians of Astantia wouldn't allow it and tried to seal away the guardians of Morcadia back into their own plain, but it never worked because the seal shattered. The complete form of the guardian crest of Astantia is forever lost, only bound by these amulets. The amulets' 'voices', as you say, are really the souls of the guardians of Astantia for they had risked their entire lives into making the seal."
"Then how does that explain about your mother?" Phey asks me.
I remain silent, not wanting to say anymore about my heritage.

"It's okay, Ayame. I understand you overreacting." Shu said, and added "soooo, does this mean that Shao is the only one who can't hear it???"
Phey:"that's okay, you don't have to say anymore, Naoko, i understand"
*Phey then bounds up to Shao and gets two inches from his face and stares straight into his eyes*
Phey:"it doesn't talk to you? you don't hear it? the voices?"
*she wiggles her ears and continues to stare hoping to hear good out of him*
"Hmmmmm..." Shuichi said cautiously, "doesn't this all seem kind of strange? Suspicious even? That we would ALL meet here ALL at the same time with ALL of the amulet pieces? And that we were ALL led by a mysterious voice (well, except for Shao...)?
*phey takes her attention off shao and turns to shu*
Phey: "that's true, but how else would the shield hope to pull itself together without a little help? maybe we're the chosen people! Super Heroes!!"
*she does a little superman pose with her hands on her sides*
Phey: "think it's possible?"
Shuichi laughed a little and replied "Maybe...do you really think so?"
Phey: "yeah! but... umm... what do we have to do exactly?"
*phey stared down at her amulet and wondered*
phey:"how does thing go together? with glue or something?"
"I don't know... maybe there is some sort of ritual for it..." Shu said simply.
"It's a puzzle piece in a way," Naoko replied. "But you have to go to the temples in order to find out how to solve the piece's own puzzle within the piece."
