A light shade of pink flushed across her cheeks when he said she was beautiful, but she didn't try to hide it. There was no need to be shy. Not around Shadows. Her heart seemed to flutter when she heard those words in a way that she had never felt before. Well, not around any of her friends, at least, and certainly not around any other males. Long Shadows, so far, was the only one who made her able to react in such a way, but Fancy didn't mind. Quite the opposite; she liked hearing him say things like that to her, and wished she could hear them more. It wasn't often than the nanny got compliments. A lot of the upper class pidge were too critical of others.
"You're willing to help others, too, Long Shadows, so I don't think I'm kinder than you are." A slightly sad smile spread across her beak when she said this. "I don't want to see myself as higher or above anyone, especially people I care about. In my eyes, no aristocratic pidge is above even the poorest of the poor in the lower class side. Not even Half Price." Raising a wing up, she brushed it across the side of his face gently. Something about Shadows intrigued the nanny. There seemed to be a hidden, almost regretful sadness about him. With a tilt of her head, she gazed at her companion, wanting to ask about it. No -- she wouldn't pry or poke her beak into other pidge's business. If he ever wanted to tell her something, he would share it when he was ready. She wasn't going to drag it out of him.

A small blush hid itself under Shadows dark feathers. He felt his hear beat quicken as she brushed her wing against his face gently. She was gorgeous, not just on the outside but her heart and just...her. He reached up and brushed his wing softly against the side of her face. The pidge was suddenly at a loss for words. All he could do was breath and feel how warm she was until it hit him. Three little words that summed it up perfectly.
"I love you."

The pink on her cheeks deepened to a light shade of red when he brushed his wing against her. Then, when he said those three little words, it darkened further to a nice crimson. Over and over in her mind did those words keep playing. He loved her! Actually loved her! Just remembering Shadows tell her that made her want to faint with joy.
"I love you, too, Shadows. So, so much."
