"I'll come visit you, then." She said quickly, not wanting Magdelen to get the idea to go to her house; Elena had decided to stay home for a few days, and Iselda did not want the two to meet again.
"Not much. A few new words, but well." She shrugged gently and patted her new braid, marveling at how much easier it was to move her head around with it.
"I..see." Iselda eyed the ratty thing, not entirely approving. Had that father of hers' pinched on a present or something? "It's nice." It was rather obvious she didn't think so, but she was trying her best for the sake of her friend who was obviously enamored with the contraption.

"Alright. After school, let's meet up and I can give you my address and directions, if you want." Her newfound knowledge could wait until then, so she mumbled a quiet congratulations about the additions to her friend's vocabulary and didn't pursue the subject further.
She caught Iselda's look and laughed. "It's that messed up 'cause I had it when I was still a baby. I didn't take much care with it." Now she did, though. It was her Prized Possession. "And it was from a friend, since my dad can't handle electronics." With a shifty look, she added, "They kind of explode."

"Explode?!" Her voice was outraged as she imagined a house where her friend was in constant danger from the stupidity of her father.

Magdelen nodded and hid her giggles behind both hands. It wasn't like Luka didn't want to handle computers, he just couldn't. "It's because he's sort of psychic," she explained, "He told me all about it and how it happens, too, but I wasn't really listening."

"Oh, of course, psychic. That explains everything." Iselda rolled her eyes with a depreciating expression - if that man was psychic, she was a squash.

Magdelen frowned. "No, not like that! It's sort of like... an energy thing. He can't read minds. Well he can, but only a certain kind of mind and they have to be attached to this thing he calls the 'myriad'." It was too complex to be a joke. And she didn't know why, but she felt like it wouldn't be too bad to tell Iselda all of this. It kind of made sense, for some weird reason, to let her know about everything.
Well. They were friends. And maybe she could stop now, and save the blond girl from whatever she'd feel when Magdelen died. But she didn't want to. "I think that he's telling the truth," she said vaguely.

"Really?" Iselda frowned lightly, momentarily forgetting that frowns gave you wrinkles. She didn't trust Luka, but she did trust Magdelen.
Maybe too much. Her mother had given her a lengthy lecture on the inherent evil of all people of lower class than them, but Ise had never thought to connect Magdelen with anything like that. Honestly, sometimes even she doubted her mother's sanity.
"Well, I suppose I shall have to take your word for it, then." She smiled slightly at the other girl, not willing to start a fight over something like this.

She nodded earnestly. Iselda was her dearest friend, if that could really be said since if you thought about it the blond-haired girl was really her only friend. "If you want," she said, doing her absolute best to feign indifference. Like, oh it doesn't matter if you don't like Daddy, just so long as you like me or something. She didn't know.
"This class is easy," she said, for a complete subject change. "If you just pay attention and write down what he says, you can totally breeze through." She rolled her eyes. "He's a sub, that's why. My dad's applying for this job, it'll be nice when he does because he picks better books than this guy."
