amandapace7 The reason I thought to make this thread is cause I was wondering if any of you guys were at the BOA regionals playing at UTArlington? My husband and I are old UTA marching band alumni, so we decided to go watch the regional finals last night. It was great! I really wish the Winston Churchill band from San Antonio had gotten first though. I enjoyed their show much better than Reagan's and I thought their colorguard was amazing... you could hear the clicks everytime they threw and caught the rifles... they were all extrememly well timed. I don't really remember anything about the Regan band... other than I thought the colorguard pants were a major distraction and I kept expecting some sort of visual from them since the inner thighs were black... but i don't even know what their show was about! *sigh* just goes to show you that the judges are looking for different stuff. Our band competed in BOA one year...we will the year after next. We also compete at UTA every year. (except this year due to complications) I'm part of Parkway High School - Pride of Pantherland Band. We're second best to Lafayette.

My band just started competing in BOA last year. We went to the Miami of Ohio regional (and made finals at our 1st contest!), the Indianapolis regional, and Grand National Prelims and Semifinals. I'm from Indiana, so going to Grand Nats doesn't require much travel.

We're going to BOA Massillon and Indy this year, along with, dun dun dun... YPSILANTI. domokun Because noone realised Youngstown was the same day as Homecoming, and people wanted to go to that instead. So now we gotta pay an extra 75 bucks and get on a bus at 4:30 AM ON MY BIRTHDAY to drive for 3 hours to Michigan. crying We have more chance at making finals there than at Youngstown though, aparently?

We'll be competing at BOA this year for the first time. It's our first year with seniors, and we're not even 5A, but we figured we have to start somewhere. We know we stand no chance, going up again Churchhill and Reagan as you mentioned in San Antonio this weekend, but I think it'll still be fun.

? I thought BOA only has 2A and 3A divisions? ...in 2004, my school went to Grand National finals. For some reason, in both BoA regionals I went to, there was always one group with the '04 show (Hypar Effect). Sadly, one of those bands beat us in BoA-Los Angeles Regionals with that show >_<
Say, if any you guys are going to Grand Nationals, say hi to Upland from Ayala, and good luck, because they're the only California band there, last time I checked crying

Last year my band went to the BOA Marching Band Festival in Oxford, Ohio. We sucked. We got next to last place. Everything sucked last year, marching-wise. Kind of strange, considering we were the state champions the year before that . . . Then this year, before summer vacation, which I guess would still be last year, our WE went to the BOA National Concert Band Festival. That, I must say, most certainly did not suck. It was the best experience of my life.

Not bad for our first year there. Upland and Ayala did really well, but I thought they were both going to Nationals? Dude, I loved Ayala's show, it was so cool!!! heart heart heart When we got to mingle with the other bands, I made sure I found their colorguard. So cool. *Such a bandnerd*
