Matsai would have been mortified to know he was on the ground, thrashing around like a beached fish. And to know Ahai was rushing to his rescue after a vision, one of the few he ever had? That would have made him want to dig a hole to live in. But then, he was aware of nothing beyond what was in his own mind right now.

It was like... Elly had crawled inside of his head and was clawing around on his insides, tearing things up and throwing them around. And it hurt as bloody much as that too.

By the time Ahai arrived, his twin had slowed in his thrashing and was now just sort of twitching pathetically, his eyes wide open and staring. Even that calmed till he was only breathing hard, his sides heaving and his mouth open in a grimace of rage and pain. Everything hurt and he swam in the pain, unable to tell where the physical ended and the mental began. Was there even a difference?

Chamchela had just been about to teleport back home when Ahai found them first, and as she looked at her infuriated mate she knew immediately who that displeasure was going to be directed at, and it wasn't his twin lying on the ground.

"What?!" She snapped questioningly at Ahai.

Her own fur bristled too, in response to what sounded a lot like an angry challenge, but for once in her life Elly didn't really know what to do, she stood there, braced and bristled, eyes fixed intently between the two waiting to see who would make a move first, now that the weaker of the twins was recovering.

((*needs to just include a 'maturity warning' to all Ahai's rps* XD Just can't seem to get the point across without obscenity))

"What the ******** do you think b***h!?!" -He roared a furied response to a question that only pissed him off more. What did that even mean then? That SHE'D been the one who had done this to him? And now she was just going to 'What?' him like it wasn't a big deal?

He lunged, giant bulk of muscle wheeling straight at the goddess. ******** strategy. ******** the fact he knew that she knew just how to get him when he attacked so blindly after all these months of sparring together. Of being together. It really didn't matter, didn't matter at all if she flayed his skin and fed it back to him. He just wanted her and everyone away from Matsai and he wanted it NOW.-

Matsai became slowly aware of roaring that wasn't coming from the space between his ears and he struggled against the lassitude in his limbs, fighting their desire to ignore his commands to MOVE. He didn't know what was going on, but he wanted to get the hell away from it.

The blue lion managed to roll onto his stomach, his head wavering on his thick neck, bits of grass and dirt clinging to his midnight mane. Green eyes blinked a few times as he frowned and winced, still feeling the burning rage inside of him and the lingering pain, though now it came more from without than within.

Had he known it, his brother's selfless rush to his defense would have been flattering and done much to mollify him after finding out his brother had a family without him knowing about it. But then, he was too focused on getting his damn paws to move under him when they'd much rather flop about lazily.

Even in the midst of all that was going on the warrior in her reacted first to the threat Ahai now presented. She met his charge with a warning roar of her own, tensed for the fight, and when he reached her she moved.

She took advantage of having a firm stance, and where momentum and size might have been enough to fell any other lioness, advantage of knowledge and experience she did indeed have. She jumped forward at him at the last few possible seconds, throwing the bulk of her own size and weight sideways instead to use his momentum against him, get him on his back. For once in her life Elly wasn't looking for a fight, though, she'd had her fill of that just moments ago, and sought to get back instead. So with a sudden back stroke of her wings she leaped away, landing on all fours a yard away from Ahai, still tensed and growling, prepared should he charge again, but backing down. Even SHE had enough damn common sense to realize that she had ******** up, had done enough damage, even if she didn't realize that Matsai's seizure was not her own doing.

"Back the ******** off!? I barely touched him!" She snapped, though almost certain that he wouldn't listen in the rage that he was in.

-She succeeded, his stance and body faltering to hit the ground hard, but any pain or sting to the ego was muted by sheer adreniline and rage, and he was up in a flash. His paws flayed out and fully stable again only a few brief moments after her own change in position. He crouched again, body in a defensive trance that nearly wiped any sense of logic or thought from him, leaving only the rippling brute of a monster that came out when he truely fought. The kind of beast that had allowed such a mindless slaughter of souls, innocent and not, for a silly game of 'courtship'.

Nearly, however, was key. She was getting back, he acknowledged. And deep down inside somewhere... he also acknowledged the fact that she was the mother of his children, one of the few women he'd ever come to respect at any length. Perhaps that's why, as he moved forward painfully slow, muscles rippling his voice hissed one finally statement of warning and escape, one that he certainly wouldn't have offered to any stranger.- "Go home Elly."

Managing to get his paws under him and his legs to function in getting him up off the ground, the blue lion staggered a few steps and wavered to a halt, his head turning toward the harsh voices. Remembering what was going on and recognizing who'd come to his rescue, Matsai scowled at the pair, his brow pinching to distort the star on his forehead.

He had some adjusting to do to his perception of the world. Ahai, with kids. Kids he'd never have known about if not for this event, most likely. Something his twin had decided not to share with him, something he'd kept separate, isolated, secret... And for why? Was there something wrong with him, Matsai? Was he not to be trusted? It was hard to fathom why things were as they were, but they were so and he couldn't change them, he saw that now. It did mean though that he had some choices to make, new paths opening up before him.

Green eyes bore a hole through the back of Ahai's head as his twin raged silently behind him, and if a glare could burn, he would have scorched the mane off his brother.

Anyone else would have received a simple "******** off", but Elly wasn't looking to make an enemy of the father of her kids, and damn it all if she hadn't come to.... care about Ahai, in a sort of possessive, territorial predator kind of way-- so was the way of her.... affection.

She hated to feel like she was running from a fight, but she knew there was nothing more to be done here unless it was in the ways of more damage. With another defensive growl she vanished from view, seemingly having teleported back to their strip of territory.

-Oblivious to the expression that stained his twin's face Ahai watched Elly, a ragged huff of air escaping him as her figure dissapeared, the closest to a sigh of relief he might manage. Stressed and still on edge, his pose remained diligent and protective for a few long moments as he inspected the skyline for danger, finally whipping around to try and evaluate the situation. He was breathing wasn't he? He'd better ******** be breathing.

Eyes to the ground he was startled and somewhat relieved to see only feet, not only was he breathing, he was concious. He felt his fur bristle however as his eyes lifted to a face that confused him.-

"What'd she do to you?" -He huffed finally, drawing nearer, body still tense as ever, growl touching the idle 'comfort' that he attempted.- "I'll kill her if she hurt you..."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 17, 2009 9:10 am

Matsai shuddered as he struggled to control himself. He'd never known rage like this before... never been tested so ruthlessly to keep his emotions under wraps. And he'd never done such a poor job of it either.

"You... lied to me..." He gasped out, struggling with the words. There was so much to say, and so little at the same time. "Why?" He snapped, his tail lashing. Oh, he knew now... he knew everything. Every side trip, every time he'd gone missing, every time he'd left his twin to go see that cursed goddess... He'd seen it in Elly's past, and what's worse? He'd seen far more in her future and it shook him to his very core to think that he was destined to loose the one person that made him complete.

The star-marked male was at a loss as to what happens now. He didn't know what to say or what to do, and running away was standing very high in his priority list right now. But did he have the strength to leave Ahai? Could he really be the one to break that bond for good? He'd never been the strong one and he didn't think he had enough of it now.

"L... Lied!?" -Ahai wasn't the sharpest claw on the paw... and his stare mirrored his utter confusion for a long moment. He'd just come to save his brother... and now? His blood pulsed loudly through his brain and body, aggression tensed body shifting backwards a step. He'd not lied to his brother... what would he have to even lie about? Slowly the pieces somehow began to fall in place. Elly wouldn't be stupid enough to attack someone that looked exactly like him... so she must have thought that Matsai WAS him?

Lied.. lied..? His eyes drew shut, no longer wanting to see the sight before him. To see so much emotion and anger on his twin. If Elly was his lie... then the worst of his crimes was omition.-

"What are you talking about Matsai? I've never lied to you!" -Oh how the positions had changed, Ahai's tail honest to goodness curling beneath his back legs in a way it hadn't done since his childhood.-

"If you mean Chamchela.. I didn't think you'd care! I didn't think you wanted to hear sordid stories about some chick I beat around and banged. She's just a girl."

-He was still confused.. unaware of the damage he'd created, unaware of how much his carelessness might have wounded the one he'd always shared a soul with. He was one of action and little thought.. how was he to know... Matsai had wanted to hear.. had needed to hear about the family that'd risen up from a stupid competition of strength?-
PostPosted: Tue Mar 24, 2009 2:28 pm

Matsai hissed as his brother took a step back, his anger coming down from a boil to a simmer.

"Why not tell me? You found a female, for gods' sakes... You. You've never shown the slightest interest! And then some female comes like a rock out of the sky and I find out you've not only got a mate, you've got cubs?" His voice rose at the end, a shudder sweeping him. "You're a father, Ahai! Didn't you think, after everything, that something like that was at least worth mentioning? And its not like it was a one time thing either... you're caring for the cubs. And I'm not even allowed to know about it?!"

He fumed as he started to pace, though his steps wandered a little and his body shook from exhaustion and the after affects of touching Elly.

"You lied to me with yourself! When you became other than what I thought you were, every moment you acted the same and hid it was a lie to me."

-He'd lied... His brother was right like usual. Worst of all, the brutish beast didn't know what to do about it. Like a cub being scolded he stood there, listening to the words and tone that afflicted his soul like the sharpest of claws. His muscles twisted and tightened, instinct telling him to run forward, to cut short the words that assaulted him. But he stood his ground, claws digging the dirt with pent up energy. Hurting Matsai would do no good. Not unless Ahai really thought he could shut him up and leave him behind forever. And quite clearly, that wasn't even a thought that deserved a nano second of consideration.

His breath was labored, his tail still curled, claws digging as a completely new wave of adreniline shot through him. What could he do? What could he do at all?.-

"I'm training them!" -He shouted in defense to the term of affection, true as it might be. Though he'd never cuddle or coddle them surely there was SOME emotion of caring in there.-

"I..." -His low baritone rumbled with uncertainty.- "I don't know what you want to hear from me brother. I'll tell you whatever you want to know, if that's what it is."
PostPosted: Sun Jun 28, 2009 4:01 pm

The slighter twin gave a snort as he slowed his pacing. "I don't give a flying elephant for them." He growled, finally just letting himself collapse where he stood. He was so tired... his large body just folded up and fell, his chest then his chin hitting the ground before his behind came down, tail snaking over the ground. It raised a puff of dust around him and he glared at a bit of grass before his nose as though it were the source of all his anger. But he had little energy to spare for that anger, now that his brother no longer denied it. He defended himself, but seemed to admit to Matsai being right, which was enough to cool the rage enough that he was able to slam a proverbial lid on it, his face smoothing into something impassive and distant again, more like its normal state.

"I don't want to hear anything you do not wish to tell me about them. Now I know that they exist and I know who you really are. It will affect how I relate to you, of course, but that's to be expected. I half wonder if I shouldn't go find my own female, so we can once again be on level ground, so to speak." He said it so dispassionately, as though it were just a matter of picking the right female and that was the end of it. He had a -right- to do it, in fact. How could he face his brother, with something like this between them? He was mate and father and brother, while Matsai was still just brother... there could be no equality between them as things were.

"If you take another female, father other children, or by some twist of fate start your own pride, I shall require you to tell me of it. Things that change you, those I want to know, but I need know nothing of the things themselves. Failure to do so shall sunder us for good, Ahai. This is the only warning you will get." He said them levelly, but there was heat and pain inside him, hopefully deeply buried. It would kill him to do it, but he was a prideful beast, and would not stand for lies between him and one he considered his other half.

-Even as Matsai's expression and demeanor changed the pain and inflictions on Ahai continued, his teeth gritting. He probably deserved it, it was probably all the same pain that Matsai had felt not long before. But it didn't mean he had to like it.

To hear his brother speak of casting him away so callously.... true or not. He couldn't let it happen. It would crush him in a way he couldn't explain. More so than even losing father had done.

He was mostly silent, head nodding in resignation as some final words sounded.- "No more lies. No more secrets."

-He paused, uncertain what to do. Part of him sensed Matsai might have wanted him gone for awhile. But the same protectiveness that had drawn him here, and the nagging fear that his brother might see his departure as abandonment paused him. Taking the middle ground, he stepped closer, still leaving a full length between them before he settled to the ground. His twin needed rest. And like usual, Ahai was happy to do his duty watching over him.-
