Wow, people agreed with me... that's rare. Well, I decided to expand on that idea for the sake of it.
My friend Jayson's theory on it is that Bisexuals are just selfish/greedy. It's not enough that they like one sex, but both. People that see it like that take it as, you like men, and women, so you can go from one relationship to another of the opposite nature without troubling your mind. But then you could look at slutty people as greedy to, it's not enough to have sex with one person, but a new one like every night...?
It's true, that bisexuals stand out more than slutty people because of the orientaion, the ability to like same sex relations... but isn't it true that gays, lesbians, straights, they all outnumber true Bisexuals... I personally believe that Bisexuals are the lowest number, or percentage of all people, though from my high school experiences, it seems the number is actually getting quite large.
Anyways, back to my point on expanding... The ability to like the same sex as well as the opposite sex could all come down to people that perfer the same sex in a relationship but have been raised in a manner that they do not want to let go of that tie they have to The majority of society. Another way to look at it is that it is plain and simple, loving a person not for what they are, but who they are. There are people that go through life never really finding happyness because they deny themselves the one thing that could make them happy, the one thing that is obscure in the eyes of the rest of society. It is truly sad that religious morals, can drive a person to the point where they will kill themselves over not feeling like they belong, or just live an unhappy life. Todays medium is bisexualism. It offers the best of both worlds, you can feel a part of society, yet be happy, unless a Bi-basher decides to come around... but they are rare...
I lost my point... didn't i....?

People aren't just held back by religion or majority. They are held back by a certain element of conditioning in society, where seeing aesthetic value equates to attraction or wanting someone/something and how you describe that aesthetic is more important than the actual intrinsic value or type of bond. Think of all the words that can be said to be synonymous with pleasing aesthetic. "Handsome," "beautiful," "pretty," "gorgeous," and the list goes on. Every single one you think of relates to a specific image in your mind, and they do not always cross over, especially with gender-polarized terms. The idea that they might find a certain type of "beauty" pleasing, but are told they shouldn't creates mental confilct. They either bend or blatantly disagree. Unfortunately, most are of the former category.
In the end, it's just a matter of semantics, but people are afraid to be tied down by their words, for fear that they are attracted. It is only the fact that we've muddled subjective and objective value judgements; where objectively identifying beauty mysteriously equates to subjective attraction. Some people see this twisted logic as a weakness that leaves them vulnerable, fearful to open themselves to the possibility or just afraid of what it may mean about them and the mound of labels they've collected. Misunderstandings like this always grow more hairy with time.
Perhaps just the very admittance that we can all find members of both sexes (and maybe all genders) aesthetically pleasing in some way is evidence that we are all bisexual (or pansexual) to some degree. Still, that is not to say extreme ends of the sexual orientation spectrum "discriminate" consciously, or even subconsciously. If we should gravitate more towards this, that or the other, so be it. We read too much into things as it is.

Losing your point always seems to happen when you actually say everything you want to.

Montigo Dominic it does... and I lost it a bit more than I thought because you basically finished my thought for me... You actually covered what I was thinking... and then expanded on it... Funny thing is that it's the second time I had to post it. Gaia ate my original post because I took too long to type it, and by then you posted already. So we came up with the same idea at the same time. Creepy. sweatdrop

xXBlack_MageXx I'm trying really hard to see how one can be attracted to both sexes at the same time, but the whole concept confuses me. I suppose one could argue that it's no different than being gay, but I find it seems impossible to be attracted to both sexes at once (obviously it is not, otherwise it wouldn't be happening so very often xd ) Could someone please offer some insight of somekind so that I can understand my semi-queer peers better? i agree with you
