Rook gently wrapped the three fingers on his hand around the other girl's and hope she didn't mind the feel of his rubbery skin. He lead her gently to the line where they had to wait for their turn to get on " Do you have a favorite one" he asked nodding towards the two dozen or so brightly decorated painted horses that spun round on the ride. He found himself fond of a black one on a silver pole with gold and bronze painting for the saddle and bridle.

Nodding, Galleai pointed to the horse just next to the one Rook had liked. It was white with a purple mane (her favorite colors, of course) and had an elaborate silver saddle decorated with flowers. "I'd like to ride on that one." She said, squeezing his hand a little. She didn't mind the feel of his skin at all.

" That one's neat" he said and waited another few second as the ride spun to a halt and released it's previous load of passengers from one gate as the one in front of their line sprung open. " Walk quick but careful" he warned , gently pulling her forward. There were only a few other people in front of them but he hoped they could get the horses they wanted. Still he didn't want her slipping in a hurry, the tall boy himself well balanced due to his tail.
Luck was with the pair and they go to their chosen mounts. " Do you need help?" He asked uncertain if the girl could get onto her horse since it seemed to have stopped mid descent and was somewhat high up.he wasn't horribly strong but he could lift Bishop and Andrea little and while Gall was bigger than them he figured he could probably still help if he needed to.

"Yes, thank you." Galleai said, accepting a boost up from Rook and smiling at him from atop her steed. She didn't have much muscle at all. The horse felt hard and plastic underneath her, but she patted the top of it's head as Rook got onto the one beside her and then, with a small jolt, they carousel started up and Galleai clutched at the golden bar. "Oh!" It was faster than she'd expected.

Rook held tightly to his own mount as the ride began to spin and the horses began to rise and fall at the same time. It was a weird sort of feeling but the cheery tinkling music that accompanied the ride was sort of soothing and helped Rook settle. All in all the ride was actually pretty fun and not the type to make you scream like some of the other the carnival boasted. Certainly a good ride to start with, especially since spinning around it almost let you see the whole park or at least bits of it.
" You should try to dream one of these " Rook suggested. His strange cat girl friend seemed better able to navigate his dreams even than he was sometimes.

Hesitantly, Galleai let go of the bar and spread her arms out as if she were flying, looking over at Rook and laughing infectiously. "I don't make dreams." She said. "I only travel other people's dreams and I wander the dreamland. But you could dream about them, and then we could play together."

Tail or not Rook didn't believe in his balance enough to move out of the general riding position the others seemed to have adopted. Though he admired Galleai's daring. " It's hard to dream stuff on purpose" he admitted " Mostly I just wake up there." He would try though becuase he really did want to play the drums for her, perhaps she would dance as Bishop and Kaimi had on new years. Assuming cats could dance. Dreaming one of these might be harder then just drums but he'd try for that too becuase it was nice. Maybe if he tried hard he could make the same dream happen often with all the things he wanted in it.

"Maybe you could start a dream, and then let me change it?" Galleai suggested hesitantly. She'd never actually talked to people about them letting her manipulate their dreams. "If I'm in your dream and you let me... I can put things there."

Rook though about that as the ride began to turn slower. He wasn't fond of things changing or happening out of nowhere but then again he trusted Gal, having known her since the first day he remember being alive. " We could try that" he said softly before smiling. he wondered if it was possible to have dream adventures if Gal made mazes and stuff to navigate.

She smiled at him as the ride slowed to a stop and then managed to slide down from her horse. "Thank you for the ride, Rook. It was fun." She felt easier around him than she seemed to feel around other kids. Once he was also off his horse she impulsively leaned forward and gave him a quick, shy kiss on the cheek.

The grey skinned boy was confused for a moment but then smiled, this was, he supposed just like when Bishop had kissed Kaimi on new years, A nice friend thing that happened sometimes. It had felt nice and warm and soft on his sensitive skin and he wouldn't mind it happening again someday.
" You're welcome" he replied automatically reaching out to hold his friend's hand and lead her toward the exit gate, not wanting her to be trampled but the children running to get on or off. " Did you want to ride something else? or we could play some games" he offered. The girl was good at a lot of things in his dreams as a cat but what she was like as a girl he still didn't really know and it made him curious.

"Ummm..." She looked around indecisively until she spotted some children standing at a booth, using water guns to shoot at targets that drove little tin monkeys across a race track. "Can we try that, maybe?" It looked like fun. It couldn't be that hard to hit a target, right?

Rook's eyes followed the girl's finger and after a second he nodded " Sure" He didn't know much about guns that shot water but the idea of the game looked easy enough. He walked with her over to the booth and waited for the current round to end while checking the prices listed on the plasterboard at the side. At least it wasn't too expensive.
As soon as the round ended and the winner received a small stuffed toy Rook handed over the required money and pick up a watergun, waiting for the go signal.
