Fenghuang wasn't really surprised by her history as she spoke. Despite her appearance her personality simply hadn't fit and as a consequence he doubted she would have been happy within such a herd unless she had followed the same path as his Princess. Fortunately for Fauna, she had taken the bull by the horns and with the support of her doe, had walked into the big wide world to explore it and all the treasures it possessed within it. Granted, her initial exploration had left her to become lost and he could only begin to guess how long she had been wandering around in the labyrinth of these gorges but now he'd found them...both of them. He wasn't terribly thrilled at being in the presence of another Princess-esque creature as it reminded him of his inattainable love but at the same time, a small part of him was glad that he could be of assistance and could receive gratitude for it.
A little gratitude and thanks wouldn't hurt him, they would perhaps steel him on and strengthen his reserve before he entered the shadows. You see, his Princess would never realise he was there and while the world would never hurt her, it was unlikely (if impossible) that he would ever receive thanks for the risks he took or the dedication he showed. Argh, he was such an idiot when it came to these types of things but he had already made his decisions and no manner of creature would deterr him. It felt right and that was all that mattered, even if he did wake up each morning and confess that he hated that she had made him love her. After all, he had probably missed out on quite a number of opportunities with mares through his unhealthy level of commitment.
"I see," he murmured softly as she continued to explain, growing ever more aware of the close relationship she and her companion felt for one another. He was beginning to understand why so many soquili possessed familiars nowadays. They provided emotional support, good grooming companions and company - made him ponder over whether or not he should get a pet too. "Well you've certainly come to the right place to experience a whole new world," his smile flicked onto his lips and a twinkle caught his eye as he thought of certain soquili that existed in the lands. Sure there were the image conscious but there would also be those who would be obssessed with games and covering her in mud...just like he had been.
Admittedly he maintained much of the same desires, he simply had a better 'slant' to them now and often used his pranks, jokes and mud tossing at just the right moment to maximise the affects. He had never been terribly obedient and his eldest brother often found that out at the worst moments!
"Well I'm glad to have been able to assist you then, though you are certain none will pursue you and force you to return home - right?"

She was lucky that the stallion was keen enough to understand her situation. Plus, he wasn't scolding her for leaving or anything. It almost seemed like he approved of her decision to move on, or that he understood why she was doing it. That was nice at least. "Oh yeah, no one would dare follow me or Juno! Everyone who lived in my herd was too afraid to go near the borders! I've noticed that Soquili have disappeared before and everyone around me would act like nothing happened." she shook her head then, but put a comforting smile back in position. "But I like to believe that they escaped and are now free and living how they want." Like she and Juno would soon be.
She was quiet for a moment, and the three of them walked along rather comfortably. But, a thought stuck in her mind, and she decided to pursue it as always! "So, tell me of some of your favorite places in the Kawani lands!" she then exclaimed almost too excitedly. "I've only heard word that a body of water so big exists that no one knows how far it reaches." Now, what was it that her herd mates called it? Everyone she lived with were too afraid to talk about the outside world, since their herd leader desired that everyone stayed there always. But Fauna would dream about it and imagine a beautiful mass of water. "I'll definitely find such a place." She was sure Juno wanted to see it as well.
It wasn't that she hadn't seen water before, be she'd never seen A LOT of water in one place. "I'm sure you've met a lot of interesting Soquili too!" Besides his princess, of course! "That's really neat that you grew up with your family there and everything. You'll have so many memories and stories for the rest of your life..." The lands probably weren't as exciting to him as they seemed to her.. but she felt a need to comment anyways! But soon she'd have her own memories, so there was no reason to stress anymore.
She was also relieved to see that the scenery was changing as they walked. That meant that they were getting somewhere! "How is it that you know where you are going?" she then said, with a bit of chuckle. "I imagine you're very good at directions no matter where you are!"

Her words were bizarre and somewhat confusing to begin with. He hadn't become lost though, until she mentioned this body of water. It took him a considerable amount of time to realise that she was in fact referring to the ocean. There was no denying that it was certainly huge, having seen it himself he wouldn't declare otherwise - however to say that no one knew how far it reached wasn't strictly true. In a manner of speaking he would have been surprised that she wasn't aware of it's true expanse already, however her explanation of her homeland indicated that flight was perhaps unbecoming and discouraged by those of her herd. Thus he shook off such thoughts and simply raised an eyebrow as his mind caught up with her chatter and he confirmed his own suspicions.
"You mean the ocean, right?" he offered up casually. It wasn't really a place he dwelled at, in winter it was exceptionally cold and potentially dangerous as the waves rose up and smashed against the rock faces. A creature could easily be swept away if they weren't careful enough and in these seasons it was easier to avoid them. That being said, he had remained on the borders of the arctic rim for such a time now that he could only vaguely remember what how the ocean looked or what it's soft lull sounded sounded like. It really had been a long time, hadn't it?
"It's definitely big but I can't say that everyone is unaware of how big it is," he corrected her innocence just a little, lest she find herself the butt of many jokes. He was a good humoured creature, had manners that would usually make his parents proud and as a result he would ensure that she wouldn't be laughed at simply because of her foreign views. It wasn't her fault she didn't live near the coast and nor had it been her fault that she had been subjected to such scrutiny and a strict upbringing either. "Those with wings tend to frequently cross the expanse, though they disappear for many months at a time and often come back a little weary. I think that pretty much tells you how big it is," he smiled warmly at this and rolled his shoulders, proceeding on without much issue.
It was only when she made reference to his ability to navigate so cleanly through the endless labyrinth of the gorge that his ears pricked and his eyebrow quirked. If he was honest he'd never really thought about it, never really considered how easily he drifted through various terrains. Perhaps he had grown so accustomed to it that it no longer seemed important to him and his ability to navigate was merely an advantageous quality that he possessed. "How do I know...?" he mused over this question slowly, baring in mind that this route hadn't been the one he had taken before.
"I just follow my hooves," he replied at last and released a small snort, half a chuckle somewhere in the midst of the sound. "They know their way home, I just need to trust them, you know?"

Oh! The ocean! That word -although somewhat distant to her- was definitely what one of the elders had told her so long ago. "Hmm if I choose to fly over the ocean at all then I will be careful to stick to the shores!" She would love to just see the beautiful water up close since that would be spectacular enough! "The same elder who told me about the ocean said that all sorts of creatures inhabit such a place. And I'll admit, I won't believe it until I see it!" How could anything besides fish and frogs live in water? The only fish she had seen were murky brown ones that were rather unfriendly to play with. She was hopeful that nicer and prettier ones existed somewhere.
At his hooves statement, Fauna really didn't know. Her hooves were certainly not as confident as the males, and she was hardly able to get herself anywhere new or exciting. But, then again, she didn't have a true home at the moment. So, maybe after she found the place she was looking for, she would then find a different movement in her legs that could figure out everywhere she needed or wanted to go. "It must be nice to have such a trust." she giggled then, and looked down at Juno who was also amused by such an idea. "Well thank you to your hooves, then." she replied.
When Fauna brought her eyes to their tall surroundings, she gulped somewhat at the thought of doing this journey on her own. How could the male survive during the nighttime in such a scary environment? Just thinking about it gave her mini nightmares! "I can't believe you survived mentally in such a frightening setting! I'm not doubting that you are both strong and brave, but didn't it get lonely to be all on your own while you traveled?" Most especially when the sun went down. Fauna was definitely spoiled in that she'd have Juno to laugh around with if times were hard. But Feng literally had no one until running into them! "It must take a lot of patience to do this sort of thing on your own." But, Feng's heart seemed strong enough to handle anything at this point.
"... If you don't mind me asking more about your family," she paused then, and wiggled her tail happily, "Do you have both brothers and sisters? Or just one or the other?" Man, siblings. Fauna was ecstatic at such a thought. Siblings must have been the greatest things since fresh water! Siblings could stick together no matter what, play pranks together, and curl up when the day was done and nap together too! Then they could wake up next to their loving parents and do it all over again! "I want to hear all about them! Or errm, about any silly times you've had together!" Well... they DID have a lot of time to chat, afterall.

Creatures had always told him that he was odd, they had giggled at him and his musings without complete understanding of the words that came out of his mouth. So to hear another speaking with such excitement and innocence was almost as though he had stepped into those creatures' paws. She certainly had an ample interest in what these new lands had to offer and while this outlook was somewhat idyllic, he wasn't in the mood to completely shattered her illusions. In truth, the fish in the ocean were even more nervous than those in ponds and lakes - to find them she would have to learn to snorkle which was an entirely different issue in itself.
Feng had partaken in a lot of strange activities in his life. His herd were not the most conventional in terms of hobbies and interests. They didn't conform to the norm and the trivial pursuits of Lowland soquili often bored them. Feng could swim, dive and oddly enough he could fish... However he had never once in his life tried to snorkle. Then again he had never really thought about such an activity before, shame someone hadn't mentioned it to him as a foal or lord knows how his life would have turned out.
...Maybe he would've fallen in love with a Mersoquili?
He cleared his throat and opted not to accept her thanks on behalf of his hooves. For the time being he was content to remain silent and his brow only lifted when she made reference to his lack of company. At the start of his adventure it had bothered him a little bit, but as the months had progressed he had discovered he could keep himself occupied. He had his memories, had his own personal musings and well...that was more than enough to keep him busy.
"Things like this, really aren't as scary as you'd think. I've seen a lot worse," he smiled amiably and then afforded a chuckle. No sooner had she touched on one subject that she bounced towards another with avid interest. His family was once again at the centre of her attention and he was happy to oblige. Goodness knew he was fond of his family and was more than happy to discuss them.
"Three sisters, five brothers - one of my sisters was adopted by my mother," he pursed his lips and merely shook his head at the sheer size of his own family, what made matters worse was that he knew of his mother's desire to make it even bigger! "Three nieces, three nephews and...many, many cousins. Needless to say I have a very big family - and given that, you'd need to be more specific about what you want to know," he pointed out teasingly.

He had seen worse? Fauna gulped to herself and wondered what other landscapes he had traveled through all on his own. Then again, there were times when she mistook her shadow as something evil. So clearly she wasn't the authority on paying attention. Nor the authority on knowing when something was scary! "Well.. maybe you're the type of stallion that isn't afraid of anything at all?" Come to think of it, he had just traveled all over with few complaints. Fauna could only assume that he was rather brave through all of his endeavors! If not, well, he may not have survived them...
When he spoke of his family, Fauna felt as though a sparkly sensation was surrounding her eyes. Family! Oh how she wanted a big family! She was incredibly thankful for the family she DID have, which consisted of Juno. But to have so many siblings and relatives running around would be magical indeed! "Ok fine I'll admit it, I am totally jealous. I probably sound like a chirping bird if I keep asking about your family. But I can't help it! It's all so interesting to me." she giggled then and shook some hair out of her eyes.
She might have admitted to being jealous, but Fauna was not asking for pity in any way. Just to make sure that she didn't sound like a little baby, she decided to fix her statement a bit. Sometimes she had problems enunciating her thoughts when she was too excited. "I think we all have the opportunity to have large families one day. So your parents probably took advantage of that! They are rather smart if you ask me." Plus, they must have been incredibly kind. Especially if they had adopted a daughter as well as had a number of siblings!
"And I guess I am happy to know anything you feel like sharing." she then said, while looking at Feng again. "I mean, I am thankful that you clarified just how many family members you have. Though if you'd like the discussion to be something else I am ok with that too!" She wasn't picky when it came to good conversation. Though, she was still being careful to avoid any tie-ins that may have reminded Feng about his princess. She'd hate to add on more stress to what he was going through already!

"That isn't true," Fenghuang gave a laugh as she declared he must not have been fearful of anything or anyone. Many things scared him, many things caused his stomach to twist and his heart to leap into his mouth. Just because the shadows and night time didn't frighten him didn't mean he wouldn't shriek and run for the hills the moment something else crawled out of the woodwork. He was no hero, brave...some would argue he was more reckless than brave, but heh... The dark was one thing he could handle, he was more afraid of other things. What those were, he wasn't actually sure of, but he was fairly certain that if they reared their heads he would know in an instead. "Everyone's afraid of something, some are just better at hiding their emotions than others," he explained patiently.
He arched his neck somewhat, permitting it to crunch softly and with a sigh he savoured the release of tension. One of the first things he would do when he returned to familiar soil would be to flump in the snow or undergrowth and just roll. The ground was simply too hard up north and as a consequence he'd developed quite the creak in his neck - he wasn't even old yet, but could now fully understand what the elders meant when they cooed about their 'aching bones'. He wouldn't be laughing at them again anytime soon, no sir.
"That being said you are more than welcome to have my family; if you want them," he chuckled again and shook his head, coming to a halt briefly to survey his surroundings more closely. He was now at a fork in the road and had to make a decision regarding the best path to take. "I suspect my mother would adopt the world if she could," he grinned at this, his expression filled with a fond warmth. At last he chose his path though and with a slight bob of his head began to walk in the correct direction. "With six sons, I'd say she'd be more than delighted to have another daughter to coo over," he snorted (though not bitterly) and held back another laugh.
"Though if I'm honest, if I hadn't felt comfortable sharing something then I wouldn't have had in the first place," he pointed out wisely. "I am an open book, anything you want to know I will try to answer to the best of my ability," he cleared his throat and then popped his lips mildly. "That being said, don't ask me about the fine cuisine in the Kawani because I don't know..." he hesitated after saying this and then smiled sheepishly.
"I tend to eat pretty much anything."

Fauna was definitely unskilled when it came to hiding any of her emotions. In her own mind-scope she never felt the need to ignore any feelings that passed through her brain. She thought it better to express whatever she was thinking at all times. Juno could probably go mad from the constant chatter, but it made Fauna feel as though she could always release any tension or happiness that needed to be shared. But she had to remember that not everybody lived that way.
"I could never tear you away from your family." she then said with a giggle. "They are yours one-hundred percent! I just get fascinated with the whole ordeal." she paused then and flapped her wings to shake some wind off of her back. "And in terms of questions, I will keep your wise words in mind!" and with yet another brief pause, she shook her mane out with a smile. "I'm not picky about food myself. I think I'll eat anything!" She didn't mind admitting it!
If he was comfortable with her question asking, then she decided to take advantage of it some more. Though, for the moment she decided to stray away from any further personal information of his! Everyone liked talking about themselves, but she wasn't trying to exhaust him!
"So you've already told me about the sea. Is there any other area I should venture out and look for? Like uh, I've seen mountains but never been near them. And I've heard of deserts too!" When she was younger she heard stories that such places existed. "I'm gonna need some hefty advice on where to go! Since getting lost will be ok this time..." She saw Juno giggle a bit at the thought.

He was quiet for a time as he considered her question. There were many options and avenues that he could go down regarding her avid curiosity. The Kawani held many treasures and had just as many secrets. However, he did have to be aware of her naivity and her tendency to get lost which could prove somewhat dangerous in certain locations. If he was honest he would sooner that the mare did not end up dead from dehydration, that wouldn't do at all and he probably wouldn't live it down either. Thus it should have been no surprise that he heaved a sigh and gave his tongue a gentle cluck in thought - she'd asked a very open ended question and he'd always struggled to give precise answers... He was relatively spontaneous after all.
"Well there are Lakes - they tend to border on the meadows so it is safe to assume that you'll meet a lot of others there, it's pretty much socialite central," he explained. He could distinctly recall bopping into the meadows at a young age to find many soquili scattered about. Some were merely grazing while others were in groups discussing daily news or gossip that was interesting to them and them alone. He hadn't understood the chatter as a child but as he had matured he had sort've grown to comprehend what some of the males were chattering about - needless to say it had neither been polite or gentlemanly.
"Generally speaking a lot of spring courting goes on there too, so if you happy to fancy yourself a boyfriend then that would be the place to go," he chuckled softly at this, well aware of the pursuits of both males and females during spring. The relationships didn't always bloom but there was fun within the chase, there was no denying that much. "Uh, there are also a few forests that are really pretty - plenty of wildlife there to speak with. However you need to be careful you don't get the pleasant areas confused with the western woods," he pursed his lips, his expression becoming grave as he mulled over the dangers that lurked in there.
"Kalona rather enjoy resting in that spot and Skinwalkers are sighted frequently - similarly I would agree that while the deserts are pretty to look at from a distance, you would be better to avoid 'em," he offered another impish smile and rolled his shoulders. Popping his lips lightly, he pushed onwards and lulled into silence again. She was slowly but surely reminding him of his home and that homesickness he had been immune to for the duration of his trip was slowly creeping up on him. Oh, how strange it was to crave for a cuddle from his mother and a potential thwap from both father and brother...
"As for the mountains, that happens to be where my herd lives - well, we live in the eastern most ones," he motioned towards the rising slopes on the horizon and chuckled. "Spirits know we love pleasant visitors, we'd be more than happy to show you around, you can even see the desert from where we live too." he reassured her softly.

Feng was seriously full of so much information it was legendary to dear Fauna. She felt herself soak each one of his words up with so much delight! Ok, now all she had to do was memorize everything he had said. She glanced at Juno and noticed her companion was doing just that! Juno had a mind that could handle anything. She was so tedious in everything she did, it was no wonder Fauna relied on her so much. Well, thank goodness she was the brains in their team. Fauna was much too enthralled with each detail to actually memorize them for use! This was surprising even for her, but she was silent all through what Feng answered. She didn't find it necessary to interrupt his perfect speech. But, when the opening did appear, she smiled widely and prepared herself for quite a praise.
"You are amazing, Feng!" she finally said, while bouncing around in delight. "I want to see everything- the lakes, the mountains, and you know, even the scarier areas!" She was going to experience it ALL. She noticed a glare from Juno as she spoke, and she stuck her tongue out rather playfully at her companion. "You really have traveled all over. The detail you put into each area has blown me away. I can't even imagine experiencing everything you have told of, but I am seriously going to try." If she didn't try, then she would be letting herself and Feng down.
She continued grinning and wondered where she would go first. But first, there were other details to consider. "I'll have to be careful for the Spring, too." she then said, with a solemn nod. "I can understand Soquili's desires to want to go out and meet whomever they each desire. But I'd rather experience the land first. That is what I desire." But, thank goodness for Feng! He had given her the heads up on what stallions would be looking for in the upcoming season. She didn't want to get herself into any trouble. "I'll have to find you and bother you too if I do indeed make it to the mountains." Well, bother him only as she was right now...

She was easily impressed apparently. To Feng the information he had given her was fairly well known - nearly every soquili in the Kawani had the ability to recall such details. He was no 'legend' and he shouldn't really have been regarded with any form of awe. Sure, there was no denying he had seen a lot of things in his time but most of what he had encountered and experienced had taken place beyond the Kawani. Everything he had experienced at home was relatively mundane and unimportant. Sure he had developed an unhealthy obssession at home and very few could declare they had done such a thing but that was nothing to be proud of.
"I am really not that amazing," he replied softly, a half smile on his lips at her declaration. She was certainly enthusiastic and fully prepared to grab every opportunity with both hands, that was for sure. Whether it be the lakes, mountains or forests he was fairly confident she would find entertainment in everything and anything she did. All he could do was hope that she was blessed by the spirits with sufficient luck as to remain unharmed and untouched by the more vicious sort.
Unfortunately he could not be there to dedicate himself to her protection and whether she liked it or not there would be those who would take advantage. Mare and Doe were easy targets and given that many soquili within the Kawani possessed the gift of flight a simple aerial escape was not always a viable option. Ick, it gave him shivers just mulling over such things. Ah, whether he liked it or not he was still concerned with others - he'd keep her in his thoughts at least.
"Though if you are going into the more dangerous areas bring protection," he advised after a few moments. She may not understand yet but he knew that when she arrived in the Kawani she would. That being said, it wouldn't be that long at all before she received her first introduction to his home - he could already smell the familiar scent of the trees even if they were faded and vague within his mind.
"There will be plenty to guide you in the mountains as well, I may not necessarily be there but my family are easy to spot - we are all very bright in colour," he explaiend with a chuckle.

There was a brief silence between the two of them that appeared while Fauna was watching the changing landscapes. Even in their current journey there was a lot to see and take in, and she was happy to gaze ahead with a usual energy. She watched as a flock of birds soared above her and wondered if she should give flying a go sometime. She'd only flown once before, and the experience was somewhat frightening. But she knew with practice she'd get used to it, and perhaps find someone in the Kawani lands to help her out!
"How much have we traveled thus far?" The thought didn't even occur to her! She'd been so preoccupied with the landscape and the conversation to even realize how much they have traveled. Ah well, not like she was complaining!
When she had focused on their conversation once again, she chuckled to herself and shook her head. "Yes you are!" she finally said, while brushing his nonsense off again. She wondered how he didn't see it! But oh well, even the amazing were modest apparently. "I'll be sure to be prepared as well." she then added, while waltzing along next to him. Hopefully she'd make more friends in no time. If most were as nice as Feng, well, then she probably didn't have anything to worry about! "Have you ever experienced any dangerous encounters?" she couldn't imagine what the actual moment would be like. Hopefully Feng didn't know either!
When he talked about his family again she could only take note happily. If they were as bright as he was then they would indeed be easy to spot. That could be something else she could look for. Well, not in a creepy way of course. But if she did see anybody else who stood out as much as Feng then that would mean she could trace them back to his family! "Hopefully there won't be too many other bright soquili out there. I don't want to get confused with you're own family members!" And in truth, that was something she would probably mix up. But at least she'd do it innocently as always! "Eh, its something fun to look for, right?"

"How much do your legs hurt?" He replied smoothly to her question of distance. He wasn't one to concern himself over distance given that when he did it began to place strain on his limbs much more quickly. When he was tired he would rest, when he was not then he walked. He had lived by this code for months and had mastered it in the presence of the Inuit's. Needless to say he had come home with many survival skills and would put everyone of them to use. Perhaps she wouldn't entirely understand but he had no inclination of informing her of when they would reach their destination - the instance they walked into the Kawani he would introduce her to it officially and then she need not worry.
"In answer to your question though..." he hesitated briefly and released a sigh. It was a very deep question, even more prying than the query regarding his Princess. It was complex and until an individual had encountered such things they would find the concept difficult to grasp. She had probably asked such a question because of passing adventurers and their 'dramatic tales' but more often than not their lives were more mundane. Pretty pictures were easy to paint, the reality of losing your life was not...
"I have stood on the borders of life and death and gazed into the veil," his expression was grave and he shook his head. He had no desire to paint a glorious picture of things that had transformed him into what he was today. He had come close to death a number of times, that didn't mean he had to flaunt it. "Danger is not glamorous though perhaps it varies upon what you define 'danger' as, Miss Fauna." He chuckled softly and flicked his gaze ahead of him again, noting the shifting scenary and increasing warmth himself. They had been drifting for quite some time now and instinctively he knew they were close.
"Well, if they are orange or red there is a good chance they are one of my family," he grinned a little and cleared his throat. Needless to say the chatter was making his throat crackle, hoarse from a lack of use. This was most definitely the most he had spoken in quite some time. "Though if they have leathered wings it is safe to say they are not - anything fluffy I guess...fluffy and red," he mused. He'd never really thought about it before, but defining his family was sort of hard!

At his question, she could only lower her eyes at her lightly colored legs. What a strange thing to ask! "They feel fine!" she finally answered while considering what worries he may have had in his mind. Did he think she looked tired? She wasn't acting tired or anything. "I may not look very strong but I can travel without problem." She bobbed her head confidently while wiggling her nose. Plus, she wasn't a complainer. A little soreness here and there was just a proof that she was alive! So how could she complain about that?
When he answered her own question, she noticed a change in emotion and felt wrong for asking it in the first place. So he HAD experienced a real life danger? Oh my... at least he had survived and remained in one piece. "Well, no matter what happened in your past, I am glad you are here and well." That was all that mattered, right? Memories could subside and allow discomfort, and even scars could hurt whenever a bearer was reminded of an incident. But life itself was the greatest gift, and she was glad Feng was still around and traveling.
So his family really was very orange and red? At first she sort of wondered if Feng was a rare son, who maybe was a bit brighter then the others. But, maybe all who resided his family really were bright and vibrant! "Fluffy sounds good!" she herself loved fluffy, so it was something to take note of. Leather sounded somewhat awful in feeling. "Do you think you will have your own children one day? I can see you being a devoted father!" she giggled then and knew that some soquili were obsessed with that sort of future. Or, there were others who didn't think much of it until it was apparent in their lives! But she was curious with Feng just because he had grown around such a lively and huge family. Plus, it was more conversation to pass around.

She'd clearly missed the relevance of his question but he supposed that couldn't be helped. It was amusing to a degree, to have someone to converse with that was so easily distracted that sometimes her mind simply didn't click towards more subtle references. At the very least he could be satisfied that she hadn't reiterated her question and attempted to get a definitive reaction. He'd managed to distract her and she seemed satisfied to remind him that she was stronger than she looked. He could play along with this and in the meantime, could avoid an uncomfortable conversation. "I was not questioning your prowess, you have travelled a long way from home after all," he pointed out gently.
"I can safely say that I echo your sentiments regarding my health though," he offered a bemused smile at her declaration. He was grateful she had chosen not to pry, though she might have felt a little guilty for enquiring before hand he didn't have to explain at the very least. He could be paranoid sometimes and while he cared not to admit it, he didn't like the idea of attempting to explain the events that had transgressed without them sounding heroic or fairy tale-esque.
For a time they did lull into a silence though and he was permitted an opportunity to muse over certain things within his mind. What he would do when he got home, how he would apologise to his mother. It would certainly be an interesting experience to say the least. What he hadn't expected though, was her next question and he stiffened abruptly at the mention of family and the potential of being a father. Heh - a long time ago he could have answered that question with absolute enthusiasm and certainty.
"My parents have more than enough sons to provide them with grand children, it's not necessary that I do it too."
