Huojin was thrilled that he had succeeded in the task and also made Farsiris even happier along the way. He grinned as she commented on the situation and shrugged his shoulders lightly. For her he would do it all. And in truth, he was just as pleased to accomplish it so that she could smile like she always did. That kept him going throughout the day. "It was a pleasure meeting one of your greatest friends." he then said, while nudging her face lightly.
He found himself incredibly quiet as she brought up some issues he'd been meaning to ask. In terms of living situations, he was truthful in his speech. He honestly didn't care where they went! But, she did bring up many good points. "You know my family situation is much odder then most. But I suppose living closer to the mainlands would bring benefits for both of us." Since, that was how he met Farsiris! She seemed to enjoy the area the last time she had visited. Plus it would allow a nice bridge into the two areas.
"And in terms of starting a family..." he put his neck around hers and took a deep breath in. "I've never been more ready myself." What would his own parents think? If anything, they probably wouldn't believe it! In truth he couldn't imagine himself as a father. But with time it would all make sense! He would definitely make sure to NOT to disregard his children like his own mother did. They would have the best life they could possibly have, and he knew Farsiris would help him accomplish that.
He'd explain that situation to her one day. But for now, he decided to enjoy the moment and savor the eternal happiness that would come. "Heh, so this is all really happening." he brought his neck back into place and smiled at her dearly. "I'm so excited!"

She'd never questioned his circumstances before and had never felt the need to. For the longest time she had known that his family had caused a suitable amount of pressure and pain, it was uncomfortable for him to consider and as such she didn't pry. So long as she could amuse and entertain him with smiles of her own then that was all that mattered. In time he would be ready to tell her and when that happened she would lend her ear and wait patiently for him to unravell the secret of his family's past. Everyone had their secrets and while she wasn't wholely aware of it herself - she even had some of her own. She was naive in that regard though and it would be through Ambroise that Huojin would ever uncover certain aspects of his mate's past.
Nevertheless he seemed agreeable with the idea of finding a more suitable home. Her 'mother' had always informed her that a relationship was about compromise, she aspired to do this to the best of her ability. It was winter now, but Farsiris had a reasonably good idea of the home she would like to seek out. There were caves further down the slopes, but she sought the groves that lay within the forest of pinetrees. They were so much warmer and so much more secure - shielding from both wind and snow. Really the location itself was ideal in every respect provided she could find the right grove...
However it was with a slight squeak that she caught his reference to starting a family. She hadn't anticipated that he would be inclined to start a family of his own already! It was with a nervous flutter in her chest that she cuddled into his embrace and listened to his gentle musings - his disbelief at the concept that he would ever be a father. Really, she found it amusing that so many never believed it could happen to them when there was one soquili out there in the world who existed just for them.
"To be honest I'm a little nervous," she murmured gently though she made no move to crane her neck up. He seemed comfortable cuddled against her and she wouldn't be one to disturb his position. "Happy, but... You seem so open to these ideas no matter how sudden they are!" she confessed.

He slowly pulled himself away from Farsiris, and with quiet eyes he watched her carefully. He probably looked silly for being so energetic. Half of him wanted to bring cheer on the situation, while the other half was completely serious in terms of energy level. "Its very natural to be nervous." he then said, with a smiley head bob. "But I'm probably the worst example on the issue, since the last time I was nervous was when I confessed my love to you." He had no reasons to be nervous anymore, so he had moved on from the emotion entirely. Now he had other feelings to embrace! And how he viewed the world was becoming more open and wonderful by the day.
He had spent too many days in his life nervous or anxious, and now that he had overcome the feeling completely, he found himself stepping up to life's challenges. But even so, he still understood what Farsiris was going through. Starting a family was a big step to take, but he knew only good would come from such a thing. "And, if you find that you need time then I am happy to wait with you and for you. Just because I am excited doesn't mean I am rushing myself." he hoped his words were sincere for her and meant every sentence he admitted. "You should be used to my crazy energy by now." And with that, he nuzzled her gently while gazing his eyes upward.
"Is there anything else you would like, my dear?" he then asked, while enjoying the radiance of blue that shined above him. "Always remember that I want you to have everything you desire. And that I also want you to be as comfortable and happy as possible." he then ignored the sky by bringing his eyes downward. "Even though we have many adventures that await us, I will always be how I am now. And from that I will bring everything I can to you." He smiled graciously and nuzzled at a piece of her long hair. "I love you, Farsiris."

Ooooh he was every girls dream! A prince right from the depths of a fairytale who had stepped forth to whisk away one lucky mare and it was her. She was the Princess of this tale and she still felt as though she was walking on the clouds each time he spoke, reassured her or made declarations that some of the bravest males even struggled with. Excited as he might have been at the prospect of spending his life with her and siring her children, he was even prepared to wait patiently until she was prepared for them as well. It wasn't that she didn't want them soon but as far as the seasons went it simply wasn't appropriate - it was too cold for them and with food scarce she would prefer for it to be in abundance so that she could feed herself and the little ones properly. Dreamy as she could be on occasions - there were times when even she was highly practical and logical.
Still, he may have overcome the emotions of nervousness and anxiousness in the mean time but one could suspect that such emotions would change if she did become pregnant. After all, it was the same for all first time parents and the possibility of complications was always there. He might never be nervous around another adult but if he wasn't a basket case by the time she was ready to give him his heirs then she would be surprised herself - really it wasn't fair for her to be nervous all on her own. Selfish thoughts aside...
"I love you too," she returned, leaning into his nuzzle affectionately as she cast her eyes to the side to watch him. He was simply too good to be true sometimes, with all his reassurances and patience. If he wasn't careful she would end up spoiled and that was a bad thing! "For now I'm happy as I am, though I think we should start looking for a more comfortable home soon - once the worst of the weather fades," she murmured gently. "But I think I'd like to wait a little longer for children... I'd sooner they were born into Spring so that they didn't shiver their limbs off, you know?"

The weather was certainly awful. He couldn't imagine shivering and waiting in a basket! He was raised in lovely conditions, so Farsiris had the right idea in her plan. "I'd rather wait for better weather too." he finally added with a grin. In truth he didn't even consider the weather, but that's why he was the less-intelligent one. But as his father always said, everyone had their own strengths and weaknesses. And he and Farsiris made a good duo in what they each were good at!
"Well I'm excited for when we do go home-searching." This would be the first time he would ever have a real home. He and Shen grew up wherever his mother would drag them. It was hard for their mother to create a home-front when she didn't believe she had children. Well, what was in the past was in the past! Farsiris grew up in a real home-front and look at how wonderful she had turned out! Huojin was probably learning everyday from her actions.
"But until then, we'll just have to keep ourselves nice and comfy until the winter passes." And thankfully they had a wonderful cave to keep them safe and happy. "When the weather gets nice I'd like to meet more of your family, too. And maybe one day you can finally meet my brother!" Yes... Shen would always mean so much to Huojin, even if he was more silent out of the two. His silence was always so comforting, and Huojin knew Farsiris would like him.

Farsiris had been born just as spring was beginning to take ahold of the slopes, it had still been chilly then and she vaguely recalled snuggling against her surrogate mother for warmth. She had been born around the same time as Ambroise and with two adults and a brother to snuggle she hadn't been cold. However, she had never been able to wander very far from this little gathering simply because of the weather. For that reason she had made the decision to have children that arrived 'later' in spring. It would be warmer for them, more comfortable and they could play if they wanted to. It wasn't that she regretted being raised the way she had been but... summer was always a more comfortable.
Nevertheless her musings (while quaint) could not last forever and at the mention of more of her family she couldn't help but giggle. Luckily for Huojin, Ambroise was probably the most formidable of them all. The rest of her family were much more amiable, in fact the one thing that Huojin would probably have to be wary of was jesting and pranks. She would be more than happy for them to meet him though she wasn't terribly happy with the idea of having to go the entire way to the peaks...
Perhaps they would visit once Ambroise had mentioned it?
"Your brother?" Her ears perked and she turned to look towards Huojin curiously. He'd spoken a few times of his brother... Though he held his mother with very little regard, he seemed deeply fond of his brother. Needless to say Farsiris was intrigued by this and had always wondered about the faceless brother that he spoke of. He had already met one of her siblings (technically) and had endured his scrutiny, it was high time she met one of his.
"I would love to meet him, a chance to put a face to a name - no?"

"Well, when we develop a home area I'll definitely go search for Shen." It'd be nice if Shen always knew where they lived, so he could visit whenever he desired. The same sort of idea could happen for Farsiris' family, and he hoped she'd like that as well! "Shen and I look very different so you'll probably be very surprised." he chuckled lightly and was well aware that he was the oddball out of his family. But Farsiris would still see the small resemblance they had. Even if their personalities were extremely different!
Now that he considered all of the good things that came with a home-front, he realized how many wanted visitors they could have. Though, he wasn't sure if he'd ever allow his mother to come into the mix. Maybe one day...but who knew. If his father was there to control her then maybe Huojin would consider it. But still, he'd never want to bring Farsiris in an uncomfortable position. And with his mother, it would be the worst thing Farsiris could imagine!
"We certainly have a lot to plan for!" he finally said, while ignoring whatever was going on in his mind. "Though for now we should just focus on staying warm and healthy." he eyed all of the snow and ice that lingered around them and hoped spring would come soon. There was so much to look forward to! Plus, Huojin loved being busy!

So Shen was a wanderer too? It seemed both brothers had an adventurous side to them and while Shen's appearance would certainly surprise her she would be able to sense the relation. It was in the eyes, if soquili possessed the same eyes then there was a good chance that the slightest resemblance in coat colour would indicate their relationship. She looked forward to it; the chance to meet this brother and perhaps in time she would have the opportunity to meet his parents. Oh - she knew he wasn't fond of his mother had all but should the time ever come then she would be there to support him with a smile and her seemingly neverending patience. The only thing she would ask of him was to keep her safe and protect her should anything go awry.
He was good at that, she had faith.
Nevertheless the look in his eye hadn't gone unnoticed and his constant reference to 'warmth' made her giggle. Well, it didn't take a genius to realise that a certain stallion was feeling the chill and with a gentle nudge she motioned back to the cave he had been hiding in. Now that Ambroise had gone there was no reason for either of them to dwell for too long outside. Provided he wasn't hungry it was more than appropriate for both to slip back inside to where the cave radiated with heat.
"You know if you were that cold you could have just said so, Silly." She scolded teasingly and with a light brush of her tail against his flank she drifted back towards their temporary home. Perhaps in the morning she would take her leave to explore potential sites, let him lie in while she nosed about in search of suitable groves and so forth. By spring they would be well settled and then maybe she would be ready to give him his children - provided she hadn't become so giddy and nervous about the prospect of motherhood already.

It was natural for him to follow her, and he chuckled at her soft words. His coat was not nearly as accustomed to this cold as his mate's was, but he was dealing nonetheless. Farsiris kept him warm all over, so there was no reason to complain anyways! "Well you know me, I'm stubborn." he then said as he followed her inside. Their cave may have been sort of empty, but it was nice and snug- perfect for keeping them happy!
"Now that it's getting darker we might as well settle for the evening." He quickly eyed the outside once again and hoped for a sunny day in the morning. That way he and Farsiris could venture out and do whatever needed to be done. But for now, he would just snuggle lovingly and enjoy the silent nights of winter. In the spring everything would get noisy again- so for now he could relax with the one he loved!
