Ember thought for a moment. Had he told her that? "No...but he kinda said something under his breath once. Like...'I wonder if your brother gives your Mother a hard time?' I asked him what he meant and he wouldn't tell me!" She looked down and then sucked in breath. "Are you my brother?"

Loki rubbed his chin. "My mom always was watching someone in the light; she said it was my sister. I think she said her name was Ember, but I don't remember. And if you have a brother, and your name is Ember... then maybe we are siblings?" He paused after that, he didn't know excactly what siblings were supposed to do anyways.

"Whoa, that is so crazy." Could she have a brother and never know it? Anything was possible after all. "We could wake my Dad and ask, I guess." What would her dad do?

Loki looked down. "I don't think he would recognize me even if we were siblings. I've never seen him." He looked behind him, beginning to feel like his mother would apear from the shadows to take him back from where he shouldn't be.

"Maybe he would? You never know." Ember had a small smile on her lips. "Come on, it's not bad just to ask, right?" She was a bit pushy at times.

Loki glanced up slightly. "I dunno... I don't think I should." Unless she forced him to come with her, he wasn't about to move. Not even an inch.

"Well, I won't make you if you don't want to." She could tell he didn't want to go and meet her or both their father. "What do you want to do instead?"

Loki smiled as the confrontation was dismissed. "Thank you." He looked around at the dark landscape and shrugged. "I don't really know what to do. I usually just sit by my mother, otherwise I'll get scolded."

"That's no fun!" Ember liked to have a bit of fun. "What about hide-and-seek?" She liked hiding in the shadows she heard it was what her mother was good at.

Loki laughed a little. "I never have any fun." His ears perked at the game. It was the only one his mother would ever let him play, and he was an expert at it because of his acute night vision. He wagged his tail with excitement. "Sure!"

"Well, let's have fun now." She smiled and then saw how he brightened up. That was good. "Do you want to be the hider or the seeker?" She liked being either.

Loki shrugged before smiling even wider. "Can I be the seeker first?" He was confident in his ability to find her in the dark with his eyes, so he would enjoy looking for her.

Ember smiled, "Ok! Start counting so I can find a good spot." She started looking around before he started counting so she found the perfect place.

Loki nodded and hid his face into his paws and the ground before closing them. "1... 2... 3..." He began to count.

Ember heard the count and was off. She ran up one tree and tried to hide in the leaves, but she stood out too much. She then bounded down and found a copse of weeds, but didn't like that spot either. Finally she settled on a knot hole in a tree. She ducked down as far as she could as to not be seen.
