(*insert Zelda's solving a puzzle chime here* xd )
It had taken a lot of effort, yet the reward was paid off in the form of a now decently lit cave. She didn't know how far the light would go (and if there were any sort of turns within the cave they were out of luck as far as light went, but now it seemed safe enough to enter. Smiling happily, with a slight declaration of, "We did it!" she walked into the cave, looking around carefully.

((De-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee-DUN! XD))
Zaphero danced happily on his feet before bounding into the cave. Once he found himself surrounded by the shadows, his manner became more subdued and he began to peer around at the cave ceilings. "A xefo kxoho uho de rukj" (I hope there are no bats). He had a vague memory of bats as big as one's head coming at you out of the dark. Hearing no flaps or high-pitched keening, Zaphero began to walk slowly into the cave, eyes and ears open.

Kanani nodded in agreement with Zaphero's statement. She wasn't entirely sure what he said, but it sounded like a wish or a hope for something not to happen or not to be there. Judging from the tone, anyway. Carefully, Kanani walked beside him, keeping an eye out for any obstacles which might obstruct their path, or make them trip. She felt like an explorer, and that she was in a cave-like dungeon the would be riddled with traps and puzzles. This idea filled her up with excitement, though in a way she knew that it couldn't possibly be filled with those sorts of things. Not unless a pirate put them there. She vaguely wondered how likely that would be.

Ears twitching every which way, Zaphero carefully made his way deeper into the cave, listening for any strange flapping noises or even an occasional elusive water drip, something that he could follow. He felt as though he were in a long closet, just waiting to hit the other side. He squinted, though he knew it would do no good, and continued on.
He turned to Kanani. "Nxuk uho no ceebadw veh?" (What are we looking for?) He knew that it was sea gems, but he thought that there might be something else to it, since he didn;t remember having to go very far to find them before.

"Nxuk uho no ceebadw veh?" Kanani echoed, mostly to try to commit it to memory. If she got the context right, it meant something along the lines of what they were searching for. "Hmmm....probably anyplace we could go through. The womj might be hard to find right away, but if we can solve the mystery of the cave we might be able to find them." She wasn't sure what the mystery of the cave was, but it seemed right to her. The place seemed like it would be one long tunnel to those who do not look hard enough, but if they could find a hidden passageway they would be on the right track.

Zaphero listened, then blinked in surprise. "Mojkoho?" (Mystery?) He hadn't thought that the cave would have anything particularly mysterious about it; it was just a plain old cave that was frustratingly deep. But the thought of having a puzzle to solve made it seem a lot more exciting and even seemed to excuse the cave's darkness.
He looked around, trying to spot anything odd or suspicious, and it wasn't long before he noticed a spot on the wall that looked as though a circle of rock had been cut out neatly, and the wall beside it seemed to have a great many odd cracks. He gestured to Kanani and pointed to the wall and circle. "U mojkoho?"

Kanani looked over, and investigated the odd wall. It most certainly looked suspicious. She nodded excitedly. "U mojkoho!" Placing her paw upon it, she pushed, keeping in mind the wall and ceiling above them. No dirt or rocks seemed to fall down as she pushed, so she applied more pressure. At first it was difficult, hardly moving at all, but after a moment of pushing something finally gave and the stone moved forward, falling flat upon exitting the doorway (for at this point, it was). She smiled, saying, "Looks like it's big enough for us to squeeze through!"

Zaphero's eyes went wide as he saw the round section of cave wall fall away. Dancing in delight, he poked his head in the gaping hole, withdrawing it quickly as the scent of musty air hit him and the now impenetrable darkness seemed to ooze out of the door. He hoped that by now their eyes will have gotten accustomed enough so that they wouldn't be totally lost; at least until they had found their sea gems. He distinctly remembered that the gems he had seen glowed in the dark a little.
He ventured another look at the darkness beyond; he didn't see any telltale glows, but there was only one way to find out for sure. "A nacc we vahjk." (I will go first) Better that he make sure there weren't any creepy-crawlies or immediate booby traps before letting his newfound friend experience them. Luckily, there was nothing of the sort as he squeezed through, but now it was so dark that he could barely see; just the hole that he had come in and Kanani beyond it. "Tuhboh." (Darker)

Kanani waited for Zaphero to respond before going through herself. She wanted to make sure everything was alright, and if it wasn't she wouldn't be able to go for help if she blindly walked into the trap. She got down and crawled through, looking around. It was hard to see, the sunlight leaving them behind as they crossed into another path. "I wonder if there'll be more light in another room from here," she pondered aloud, "Especially if someone made the path to this room. They might have included a light source in another room."
(I have a room in mind for that, actually. xd And it'll be a neat little puzzle. 3nodding )

((Sweeeet. biggrin ))
Zaphero nodded; it seemed logical enough. It did cross his mind that if this were part of an ancient ruin, the only source of light might have dissipated, or at the very least crumbled into dust. But he found himself keeping silent; what did he know, after all? He smiled at Kanani despite the fact that it was probably too dark to see, and began to walk forward, his footsteps noticeably lighter in case of booby traps.

Kanani wandered along the pathway, searching the walls by occasionally feeling them with her paws to see if something seemed odd. Soon her paws came upon something rather odd. "A...torch?" It seemed like a torch, though it wasn't lit and there wasn't anything to light it with. Still, it was something that proved that there was something here. Looking around carefully, she found a strange stone similar to the room before. She pushed it, opening the passage way and a dim light seemed to escape from the room beyond. Curiously, she crawled through, and found herself in a small, square room filled with sand. A small ray of light shone in from a small hole in the upper part of the wall, shining down upon a small patch of the sand. She frowned. "A dead end?"

Zaphero followed quietly behind Kanani, looking curiously at the torch, but not saying anything. But as he followed her into the room with the beam of light and the sand, his head went in all directions, trying to take it all in. He walked over to the sand and pawed at it, not quite touching it, but wondering where it had come from. He then looked up at the light, then at the torch that Kanani still held. "Te no jkast kxo kehsx ad kxo judt?" (Do we stick the torch in the sand?)

"Hmmm...maybe!" Kanani approximated where the middle of the room was, and carefully placed the torch deep into the sand. She seemed to hit a rocky bottom, and thus let go of the torch, looking at it expectantly. The torch wavered a bit, and fell down in an anticlimatic fashion. "...well that didn't work...maybe we have to do something else?" They really hadn't learned much from the torch in the sand, except that the sand wasn't very deep, maybe only a foot if that. The beam of sunlight shone on, oddly enough not moving despite the fact that the sun surely was. She thought about it for a moment, and guessed that it may have something to do with the hole. Perhaps it shone only in one spot no matter what, with the intensity of the light varying depending on where the sun was.

Zaphero frowned as his idea proved fruitless. He looked about in frustration for any other clues, but his eyes kept coming back to the beam and following it down to the sand. The sand hadn't seemed too terribly deep, but since there didn't seem to be any place for it to have fallen, it had to have been placed there. But if not to hold a torch in place, then what? To cover something up? That thought seemed to have more merit than his last one. "Nuak (Wait)..." He walked over to the sand and carefully began to sweep it aside with his paw, his eyes straining for something on the floor below; a trap door perhaps, or an ancient script revealing what they ought to do next.

Kanani looked on as Zaphero swept aside the sand, peering into the whole he was creating. Slowly but surely, it revealed....a stone floor. There was a circular crack in the floor, similar to the doors they'd encountered earlier. She pushed on it, but to no avail. It seemed like it needed to be lifted up. Yet they couldn't do it with their paws, and she left the stick outside with the boulder....her attention turned to the fallen torch. She picked it up and searched around the crack, surely enough finding a small crevice. Using the same technique as before, she placed the torch in the gap and pushed down, causing the 'door' to move out of the way and reveal a namir-sized hole.
