Samantha shook her head as she carefully handed Winona's cup to the girl " No I'm good with walking, honestly I need to get a bit of shopping done myself if you don't mind the odd brief stop while we look around at things. I Have a list of what I need so I won't be searching for hours for anything." Well so long as it didn't take Winona ages to pick out any items that the auburn haired women felt should be personalized.
Winona listened carefully to Sid and after flaring her large nostrils and taking deep pleasing breath of hot steam them girl carefully blew out onto her cup mimicking the way she had learned to blow on hot soup the night before. " You have to blow" she informed the green boy, a bit proud that she seemed to know this fact and he did not. She gave her a toss that flicker her snowy white braid from behind her head to lay over her shoulder and down her chest.

Sid's lips puckered in an 'o' and he tried this blowing thing. Steam puffed off of the top of his cup as he trailed behind his uncle. "That's awesome!" he declared. He looked up through the steam at a snowman made of cotton and styrofoam. A snowman inside? "Have you ever made a snowman?" he asked the bison girl.
"Not a problem," Lex said. "Just stop whenever you need to."

Blowing on her own cup as well as her mouth allowed Winona too stared through a white steamy veil at the Snowman. The girl shook her head never even having seen such a thing before never mind made one. " How is it made?" She wanted one for her room now with it's big smiled and nice hat and general pleasant looking self.
" Thanks" Samantha said as they continued to walk. The first thing on her list was indeed bedding. She'd been able to order a frame and mattress online to be delivered later today but she'd wanted Winona to be able to feel and pick out the things she'd be sleeping on. Fortunately there was a bed bath and beyond just ahead.

Well, Sid had never really made a snowman either, but he had seen a couple in his life. He could guess how one was made, right?
"You get snow and snow and snow," he began, taking a tiny sip of his hot chocolate. "And you pile it up and make a face at the top with stuff like carrots."
He followed the pack toward the store. It was all big and white! And it smelled like soap. Weird.

" But why would you put food on it?" That just seemed like a waste to Winona who'd begun to slowly consume her own hot chocolate finding it to be rich and pleasant becuase the taste never seemed to go away. Still, she might make one at home and put rocks on it instead, that seemed like a better idea.
Samantha lead the group into the store and directly towards where all the bedding was laid out. " Winona , can you pick something you like please" she asked hoping that the girl would know what she wanted. In the short time she'd known her Winna had displayed a good deal of personality and hopefully that meant the girl knew what she did and didn't like already.
Winona looked at the sheets for a moment, managed to touch a few without spilling her drink on them and then at Sid " That one" she pointed to a fluffy black comforter with silver horseshoes on it, that was part of a set " or that one" She pointed to a set displaying flowering vines all over it" They both looked soft and she liked both, someone else's opinion was needed to decide and they boy had proved to know somethign about which things were good already.

Sid looked at the bedding choices before him. Ooo, silver letter U's everywhere! But... plants too! Sid liked plants. He looked back and forth between the comforters for a moment before pointing at the horseshoes.
"That one looks like superheroes," he said, sipping again. He would have to remember to ask Mom for some superhero sheets too.

Winona didn't have a clue what superheros were but she did like the blanket so she looked at her mother and pointed" The superhero one please."
Samantha resisted the urge to laugh but nodded and grabbed the preferred set. The auburn head women lead the group quickly to the registers and checked them out. A few minutes later they were walking down the mall again. strings of tiny white fairy lights still decorating some store entrances.

Sparklies! "Look Liam!" Sid said, trying to get his cousin to notice the festive lights. He knew the holiday for lights was over, but maybe if Liam was interested enough, his uncle would put some up now anyway.
He turned back to Winona after registering his cousin's shallow nod. "D'you have a tree in your house?" Sid didn't have one, but his mom had a small one in her office, and Lex had told him people got them for houses too.

The white bison girl shook her head " Just trees outside" she replied before sipping at her drink again. A tree inside might be pretty cool though she thought.
Samantha didn't have a tree becuase she lived alone and while the holiday was one she celebrated it seemed pointless to buy and decorate a tree only she could see.

Sid nodded and was about to take another sip of his hot chocolate when an extremely choppy and halting version of Happy Birthday whined from his uncle's cell phone. Sid knew what that meant.
"That's my ma," he told Winona, as if Lex carried Sid's mother around in his pocket and ignored her until she sang. "We're gonna have to go do other stuff now." If he was sad, he didn't show it. Sid was sure he would see Winona the Cow again soon. In fact...
"Give her one of those cards," he urged. "The one with your numbers on it."
Lex chuckled to himself, then did what the child asked. "We have to go, but I think Sid would like to see Winona again," he said to Samantha as he retrieved a crisp business card from his pocket. "It was nice to meet the both of you."
