Mrs. Athrun Zala Dude-LAP Mrs. Athrun Zala Dude-LAP Mrs. Athrun Zala Meh, it's true Brett throws a lot of interceptions. He does quite a bit of quick throws, low throws, and long yarders that are up in the air (more like a few for this season). Still the way I see it, no one ever seems to be ready to pick up his throws except for maybe the opposing defense. There seems to be a lot of miscommunication on the field and I don't know if it's because of the lack of understanding in play calls, Brett's lack of better judgment under a different offensive system, or the WRs inability to make a decent play on a throw. It's not the Jets' receivers. They have a great group that can catch the ball. Coles, Cotchery, Stuckey, Keller, Franks, Baker, Jones, and Washington. ...And I noticed that the Jets' playcalling did not have Brett throw downfield much, which was a huge weapon for Favre throughout his career. Perhaps. I'm not entirely convinced, but I'm not rooting for a complete offensive change either. I just wanted Mangini fired and it happened. Whether Brett returns or not next season I'll keep an open mind about their talent. They basically need to work during the offseason on creating a consistant relationship with their QB whomever that should be.But Mangini didn't deserve to be fired. The offensive coordinator called horrible games during the season, especially towards the end. And Favre didn't seem to play like his usual self towards the end. ...But I say try to get Holmgren to come back and coach with Favre in a renewed old friendship; for just one year. rolleyes If it makes you happy that the offensive coordinator gets fired as well then fine. I still don't like Mangini. As for Holmgren. As amusing as that would seem...ugh...I don't know. I'm convinced that he will sit it out for a year. Then again he may not. Still, I don't think the Jets seem to find any interest in him seeing as they are constantly trying to get Cowher which ESPN now revealed that he again refused and then they might turn their interests towards Spagnuola (however you spell that). There's also still Schottenheimer and I'm betting there's a chance for Shanaham.Mangini had two winning seasons with the Jets in a three year span. And he wasn't responsible for the collapse. ...But my money right now would be with the Jets hiring Bill Cowher as head coach. The Jets will give up a lot to get him, and they will also let Cowher re-organize he head office and GM spots.

Ugh, I know he had two winning seasons and I still don't care. I just don't like the guy. Besides, his record with the Jets is 23-26 and that's not a winning record. His only playoff appearance was in his first year as coach and he lost continuing into the next year with a finishing record of 4-12 for the Jets. Look, if he goes to the Browns and does good as a Browns coach then great. I just don't think he needs to be with the Jets just as Pennington was better off being the QB for the Dolphins.

Yeah, and then they say the Jets will do anything to get Bill Cowher and he's considering it. I don't think the sportscasters know what they're talking about. The man is not going to coach for the '09 season.

Cowher wants nothing to do with coaching right now. I think he's just playing everyone. It's Cowher. Jets said they don't want him. The Browns were trying to get him. That was funny as hell.
For the best Quarter Back I have to say Big Ben, hands down. When he's healthy. ( Key word ) I mean he won 15 straight games as a rookie. (Before the accident, of course). He takes the risks to make great plays, and thats where the sacks come in. He can make a play out of nothing. He just needs to lose his damn cockiness. I think thats what makes him a bad player.

But do notice that he won a Super Bowl with a great defense, and a great running game with Bettis and Parker. Most of his success (or the Steelers' success) comes through that Pittsburgh defense. Peyton Manning, on the other hand, is more valuable to his team, and won a Super Bowl with a pretty good (not great) defense.

They might have to play a few explosive offenses this postseason, including the Chargers, Giants, or Panthers.

I hate it when it always comes down to the last minute with the Colts and Chargers. Normally it ends in the Chargers' favor.
There was a lot of unnecessary fouls caused by the Colts' defense in the end. I'm not surprised that Dungy for once showed his pissy side.

There was that unnecessary illegal contact against the receiver, and then there was that really dumb facemask, on a guy who was already on the ground. I believe there was an offsides as well. ...Very costly mental mistakes, which is usually uncharacteristic of an Dungy team.

How are you gonna place a hold on the receiver and then jump for joy without realizing that you were just penalized? And I just really did not get that whole face mask ordeal. I really didn't. I mean, you couldn't tell that you were gripping on the guy's mask?
What irritated me the most was after the alloted drive down the field to the Chargers by the Colts' defense, once the Chargers are down as far as the 20 yard line...it was like I'm suddenly seeing the Colts' D stepping up and really putting a stop to the Chargers' running game. It was a bit late to actually start getting serious in the game. Next thing you know, Sproles is running a free-way path into the endzone.
Were they asleep or something?
