Tal laughed again.
"I like to be familiar with all of my customers. Welcome, Riot. I am Talhevar...or whatever you wish to call me, really." He was stuffing each cup with tissue paper before wrapping it up. He was a careful man, that was for sure.

"Well that much I understand. I tend to do that too. I'm just a little off today, it seems." Riot replied, smiling somewhat. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Talhevar. And a certainly nice shop you have." Well, at least he could try to be nice. After all, he tended to be similar when dealing with customers at his own shop, now didn't he? All of this nervousness was uncalled for, Tal seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

"Thank you very much," Tal nodded, beginning to stack things in a bag, "I live just behind that door there. This used to be a second living room, but I really didn't need it, so I decided to start a business for myself."

Riot nodded a bit. "My place has always been a store. I live upstairs. Have for some time now." he commented, shrugging slightly.

"I do enjoy it, I must say. Where do you work?" Tal handed out the bag. He was talking because he was interested now, not because he had to.

"At Winterkeep Books." he said, ears twitching a bit as he spoke. He also smiled somewhat to Tal. Riot was getting more comfortable with this guy the longer he talked to him.

"Ooh. I'll be sure to come visit some time. Literature has always fascinated me." And when you were guaranteed immortality, you certainly got to read it all.
"I'm about to close for the day. May I invite you back for tea?"

"Uh, m, s-sure? I-if you'd like." Riot said shyly. Damn, he was awkward talking to good looking guys. Maybe Win was right and he did need to get out more.

Tal nodded and opened the back door, gesturing inside. It was a rustic home with sparse furniture and extensive natural decoration. A small tree grew through the floor in one area.
"Make yourself at home. I'll be right there."

Yes, make himself at home. Easier to say than do. Riot was awkward enough in the houses of close friends, but in the house of someone he'd not even known an hour? Yeesh, he barely was able to move himself out of the way of the door to stand for a bit, very careful not to step on any plants for vines that might be underfoot.

Tal took his time in turning the sign out front to closed and locking the door. He drew the curtains surrounding the room and wandered around a bit, rearranging things. He wanted to give Riot some time to get comfortable in his surroundings before joining him and undoubtedly making him more nervous.

Leaving him alone may have given Riot a bit to get used to what the place looked like and how it seemed to be laid out, but other than that he was still uncomfortable. The neko didn't like being in the homes of others, even with their permission, without them around. Particularly since he generally felt like he might end up doing something that he wasn't allowed to and would offend or upset them.
His tail swished behind him as he waited for Tal to return, his fur fluffed up with his nervous agitation.

Tal did indeed enter silently and chuckled lightly at the poofy fur once more.
"Please, relax. There's no need to get worked-up over me." The tree in the room turned and almost...looked at Riot, and with no eyes! At closer inspection, the tree didn't go THROUGH the floor, but rather FROM it. How strange!
"What would you like?"

Riot blinked at the tree a bit and shook his head a bit before going to find a seat. It wasn't really that he had any trouble believing that the tree had looked at him or any of that. He'd seen much weirder, particularly back at the Keep, but still, he had had to blink and get his thoughts together before he could sit down or really do much of anything.
"Um...no particularly preference. I'll drink anything - er well, any kind of tea, I mean."

"I have wine also, if it is more to your taste," Tal offered, dropping a ball of Pearl blooming tea into a glass pot. It began to unfold slowly, revealing soft green leaves and purple flowers with small white buds sprouting from their middles. It was a beautiful arrangement, to be certain.
