Alma felt her face turn pink. Boyfriend? There had been that one guy that asked in October, but she had asked him to wait... but then she moved. Letting out a heavy sigh, she placed her juice on the table and made the channel switch by covering the button on the remote with shadows and adding pressure to it. The whole event only lasted a second and most likely be counted as an accident to everyone else. It changed the channel and was a small release of her power. "Well... no..." Alma began slowly, "No guys really have interested me and those that do..." she sighed, "Are either idiots, what to take it too fast, or something similar." It was true, as far as love was concerned, the goth girl's story hadn't even started, like a stereotypical romance novel in it's first chapter or prologue.

"Yeah I hear ya.... boys can be pretty silly. And pretty stupid." Tehra chuckled slightly. She changed the channel to a show called 'The Stew', a show that made fun of reality tv, celebrities, and all those really stupid things that people did for a little bit of fame. "I love this show. Do you like it? Celebrities can be so weird..."

"Yeah, it's funny to see what the celebs do and they are really strange. It's like they almost think they can get away with anything," Alma snickered, "Well, except the ones that want to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible. There was the one singer from Coldact. If I remember correctly, he punched some paparazzi because they were getting in his wife's face. And he really doesn't appear in magazines unless it's about one of Coldact's CDs or something." She smiled at this thought. Even among people that are generally thought of as one way, there's always someone that is different. ((The Stew? Translation?))

(The Soup. Its a show on E!.)
Tehra smiled. "Yeah I remember that. Man I would never want to be famous for anything..." 'Especially not my midnight escapades....' she thought to herself as she continued her sentence. "I would hate the lack of privacy and the ability of living your own life. Its like you couldn't do what ever you felt in your heart because people would judge you for it. I only really respect the celebrities that try not to be gossips."

"Lots of British actors are like that," Alma stated, "Speaking of which, have you heard of the show Professor Who or it's spin-offs, Firewood and the Susan Jean Adventures? I really enjoy them. Well, I haven't watched the Susan Jean Adventures yet but I'm planning to. They're Sci-Fi shows. Professor Who has been around since the '60s even though it got canceled from about 15 years but then they started a new version about 4 years ago." Alma was really having a good time talking with Tehra. It was a simple, non-demanding conversation that was more about opinions and facts than feelings. Way better than this morning, she thought dully. ((I don't have that channel, lol))

(oh. Its really funny. Look it up on youtube lol. type in "The Soup with Joel McHale" or something like that)
"You like British acting? I don't usually pay attention to the nationalities of the celebrities, I just know their names." she chuckled lightly. "I'm pretty oblivious to all that. I've heard of Doctor Who, but not the other ones."

"Yeah, well," Alma shrugged, "British actors look more human and normal than the American superficial and too beautiful." This was true for Alma. She felt that she could actually relate to British actors, they weren't super models or anything. Heck, one of the actors in Firewood had really crooked teeth, front teeth. ((Might want to change it to Professor Who instead... might... Doctor Who WikiYou can find more about the spinoffs there. Note: Torchwood is more adult and Sarah Jane Adventures is more for children. [covering all bases?]))

Tehra nodded. "Yeah, you are right. They are too perfect. Only models should look like dolls. Even then, they are too fake sometimes." She sighed. "I wouldn't want to be a model. I'd hate to have someone telling me what I could and could not eat at any given moment. Did you know they did that? Made it to where they kept an eye on their menu choices. Would you ever want that?" The pretty fallen said as she walked into the kitchen and grabbed a Small Debra brownie with candy sprinkles, those yummy little things that were so bad for you. "I love these things. You like em?"
(btw those are little debbie cosmic brownies. I'm an addict!)

Alma smiled, "Yeah, I do actually, but my parents rarely buy them. Some times I wish they would but I'd probably eat them all. It's common sense that's no good for daily nutrition." The goth stood up and followed Tehra into the kitchen, not trusting herself to be alone in a foreign room. She didn't expect anything odd to happen; she just didn't know if it was a good idea to stay in a room with the host... That and she felt calmer around Tehra, not as stressed as she may normally be, which was really odd. Maybe it was because for some reason, Alma felt Tehra would understand if something bad happened but she still wasn't sure.

Tehra smiled and tossed her one of the brownies. "Bon Appetite!" she laughed lightly. "I'm glad I met you today Alma. It's nice meeting someone on the first day of school. No weirdness of wondering if you can fit in. I guess us both being new probably helps give us something in common..." The girl hopped up onto the counter, sipping on her apple juice.

"Yeah," Alma mused emotionlessly and opened the brownie's wrapping, "I'm glad I didn't have to try and find a group to fit into either." Her mind drifted to the girl from earlier that day, something was odd about her. But fully thinking it through, a question escaped her lips. "You remember that girl from this morning? Dani or something?" Alma quickly put the brownie in her mouth. She hadn't meant to ask; but it had slipped out. That's what she got for letting her mind meander.

Tehra nodded. "Yeah I remember her. She was definately an odd one. I mean a PDA at school. And she just seemed really weird to me..." The pink haired girl remembered her distinctly. Suspicion ran high with her. "What do you think of her?

A heavy sigh escaped her as Alma recalled the incident from that morning. Dani hadn't said anything that really caused the goth to make her suspicious but the fact that the brown-haired girl and come after Alma, a silent goth, for directions was not normal. Not normal, at all. The only possible explanation the rebel could find was Dani was just a little wary of the shadows and their source. "I don't really trust her," Alma began slowly and calmly, "She seemed to be trying a little hard to make friends or was prying into the lives of people she hardly knows..." She hoped the pink-haired girl wouldn't realize this was one of Alma's tactics to say a lot and absolutely nothing at the same time.

Tehra nodded as she met Alma's eyes. "Yeah she did didn't she? But then again who wouldn't try to make friends on their first day? Although a different approach may have been better. It seemed to me that she was really protective of that PDA, and having it on at school- I dunno. It didn't make much sense. At my old school, at least, phones and pdas were a big target on the back of the person who had them. Teachers were insane about them.

Alma shrugged and bit another chunk off the brownie. After savoring the flavor for a second, she chewed and swallowed, then responded to Tehra. "Maybe..." She thought before continuing, "Maybe Dani didn't have too many friends at her old school.... or was treated poorly and... saw this as an opportunity to start anew? Still, forcing yourself onto others like that isn't a good way to start making friends... And cellular devices weren't cracked down hard enough at my school; tons of kids were texting when they thought the teachers weren't looking." Alma had gotten that feeling of "start anew" when she had heard about leaving for Delmor. She wasn't treated poorly or anything, but she had never gotten a moment to be herself, even with her friends, once the powers had emerged. The goth turned her gaze to the floor and they followed a pattern on the floor with her eyes. The girl had just realized she had been a little too rude, even if the Dani-girl was suspicious.
