Jua's mind boggled at the sudden movements of his sister; while he was still clinging to her back, he was jostled by every movement. His head spun even more when she shook, and he quickly knocked his head into his sister's to try and stop her.

"Ouch!" Mazwa yelped and bucked. She shook again and turned her head to snap at her brother. "Getoff!" She criedwhile she lurched forward again.
"Pups, you're getting to rough!" Leini snapped at the two.

Jua swiftly lowered his ears flat against his skull and slowly slid off his sister after his mother snapped at him. Ears still flat, Jua slung his head low, curling his tail around his back leg.

Maziwa stuck her tongue out at her brother, but bowed her head as well like her brother. "Sorry, Mamma," She apologized. "We were just having a bit of fun!" Maziwa explained. It was how pups had fun! It hadn't hurt terribly, anyhow. Leini gave a sigh. "Alright, but don't hurt yourselves, alright. We have to move swiftly..."

Keeping his head low, Jua perked his ears. "Are we getting closer?" his meek tone stayed constant in his voice, but you could tell that his confidence had returned. "Are me and Maziwa gonna get to help?" his tail swayed lightly behind him, his tongue rolling out of his mouth in excitement.

"We are getting closer," Leini said with a smile. "You'll be able to help, but let me do the first part," She winked at her two children who looked so like their father. The first part was injuring a babe. It was sad, but it was they way of the world... Her two children though, had to learn the way of the dg to survive. No matter how harsh. She knew it was a bit early, after all, her children still had their milk teeth.
Leini stopped. "Crouch low," she whispered. "And stay here. You'll be able to help in a moment."
Maziwa didn't have a problem with this. She lowered her orange belly to the earth, letting the grass tickle her nose and paws.

Jua squinted his eyes, searching for something his mother could be targeting. He fidgeted impatiently, wanting so badly to be apart of the action. Flexing his paws on the soft ground, his tail lay still; he was ready to run out a moment's notice. He looked over at his calm sister, wondering how she could sit there, not being as prepared for action as he was.

The thing was though, Maziwa was ready to go. Her muscles, though they weren't showy or anything, were tense with anticipation. Her eyes, though, were closed, choosing to listen instead of watch. She could feel the vibrations of the hooves beneath her milky white paws in which she was named. She was, though, ready. She couldn't feel her mum's footsteps. She couldn't even hear them, but there mother was just that good.
Leini was crouched low, with her belly almost to the earth. The beasts were close and they hadn't noticed her yet. The calf she wanted was close. It was plump and still alseep. Crawling forward, she positioned herself before springing out at the calf. Her jaws closed around its neck before it evenhad a chance to escape. The herd ran, leaving the babe behind in a panic. Leini pulled the calf back to her children. She dropped the small creature before them before turning to crush one it's legs to a lame with her mighty jaw.
"I'll watch as you... Hunt this calf," Leini told them. "Be ready. I don't know if it'll run fast with an injured leg," She told her pups. She was ready to pounce and kill it after the pups played with it for a bit. After all, she didn't intend for her prey to get away. She glanced at the fear and sheer panic in the calf's eyes as it whistled for help. She almost felt bad, but just almost...

Jua had jumped to his feet the moment he saw his mother grab the calf; although he wasn't entirely prepared for her to bring it back to him and his sister, it didn't change the fact that he wanted this. He looked over at his sister, and positioned himself accordingly, ready for a chase.

Maziwa's body betrayed her excitement. Her body practically shook with the sheer thought of the case. She calf struggled for a moment before getting up and limping away. Maziwa gave a glance at her brother before jumping to attack the beast's leg, an uninjured one.

Taking the hint from his sister, Jua jumped at the leg opposite the one Maziwa was at; he knawed at it with his small teeth and swiped at it with his front paws. His back claws were dug into the ground in an attempt to slow the creature, but his small frame did little to stop it.

Leini watched her pups with amusement. She sat and watched the wo pups cling onto the calf with the proud eyes of a mother; so eager her young ones were.
The white-pawed pup tried to scissor her milk teeth arocc the leg to wound the beast, but it had little effect. Sure, her teach scraped away fur and irritated the skin, but it was nothing to actually penetrated the tough outer skin. How did mum do it? She questioned herself in her head for a quick moment before trying to simply bite down hard.

Jua leaned in close to the carcass, stretching his paws out and clawing at the area his sister was knawing; his small paws did little to help.
"Momma!" Jua rolled his head over towards his mother, a depressed look upon his face.

Leini gave a soft chuckle. Pulling herself up, she trotted over to the small beast and her children. Leini frowned lightly at the beast, the calf, before her, before closing her jaws on its neck and giving a forceful bite. The delicate animals neck snapped evenly, cleanly, and it was dead.
Maziwa shuddered a little. Death was scary, she thought to herself. The sound of the bones snapping was both terriifying and exhilirating. One day, she would be a good hunter as her mother was.

"Ick." Jua pawed at the dead calf's face, turning it away from him. He returned his attention to the spot he had be clawing at, and again attempted to break the thick hide of the beast. He twisted his mouth around any part that stuck out, teething around it weakly. Jua had never been good at eating fresh kill; he had gotten used to the chewed up food his mother used to give him. The idea of using his small teeth to eat baffled him, and he made little progress.
