Cane's responding grin was toothy. Obviously, he either missed out on territorial wars, or he just didn't care. The raven-haired boy ignored Micajah's peacemaking attempts, and instead clapped Scyeth on the back, as the older boy had done to him at the mall. They were fast becoming either allies, or rivals, it seemed.
When Weiyuan walked in, Cane scarcely cast him a glance, noticing, instead, Scyeth's response. These two weren't friends. "Scyeth, I hate to remind you that I really need no one on my team." Now his grin was for Micajah. "I simply enjoy the company." It was true. Cane was quite good, better than Scyeth, although that was changing as the demon learned the game.
Now, though, the handsome boy took a good look at the sweatpants clad Science student. "Canaan." He nodded by way of greeting.

Micajah heaved a sigh of relief as Scyeth and Cane both seemed to relent, glad that he didn't have to pick a side at the moment, and as he heard someone come to the room (Weiyuan) he could only smile and bob his head before he turned to see...the teen was shirtless. Micajah blanched, seeing as it was so cold outside, but he could handle someone being shirtless.
At least he's not wearing fake boobs this time. Or cat ears.
"Good to see you again Weiyuan, I'm glad to see you're doing well. As for you, blind McFabio, I'm not crippled. That usually involves a wheelchair and forever, which doesn't apply to me."
Mica frowned playfully at Scyeth as he retorted on the blind comment, and he turned his eyes to Cane as he heard him mention something about 'company' and 'enjoyment', so he found something along the lines of a suitable answer.
"Well, misery always loves company."
Wrong.

Probably a late addition to the party, Wynn came sliding through the doors with the attitude of a winter breeze, feeling unwanted and quite out of place. He hadn't made any friends here at the school yet, but he was trying to, at the request of the teacher he had come to know underneath a starry sky. Blinking his amber eyes as he scanned the room around him, the dark skinned lad tried to pick out a familiar face at least.
There were all different kinds of boys here, boys he wasn't familiar with, boys he could already tell were strange, mayhaps too strange for him to get along with, and others he might get off with. Wynn Darbinian almost slipped back through the door from whence he came, back into the cold of the winter's grip, but he had already clicked the door shut with his free hand. His signature travel mug was tightly grasped in his hand, sloshing with hot chocolate he had made before he came over here.
Tucking his feet close to one another, and keeping close to the door as he debated retreating from this unfamiliar territory, Wynn screwed his mouth into a pensive frown.

Birthday? Solstice? Lacrosse? All things he just didn't know. The teen shivered as a cold draft went through the room, setting off goosebumps throughout his body. Wei ignored the odd looks coming from the others, he didn't really expect much of a crowd today. He didn't quite want one.
Cripples? He turned to the 'cripple'. Oh yes, the angel he flirted with at the party. Right. He looked a bit traumatized and Wei didn't blame him. That night wasn't really to be talked about anymore. Except for one conversation he was sure was never going to happen should he remain passive. "It's nice to see you too Micajah." He glanced up and down the injured boy. "I suppose I'll hear of this story later then." Small smile.
And last was this new student. Dark skin, long black hair, blue eyes. Attractive. But likely not his type. ...what was his type again?... "I am Weiyuan. It's nice to meet you."
Another draft came in, sending shivers down his back. Man a run would make this feel so nice. "Well Scyeth, since it is your birthday, Congratulations by the way, I suppose I'll join. But first...what's lacrosse?"

Another arrival made his way through the door, late...but not really. There'd been no time, heck, no invitation really, but living with the reason for the party made one very aware of such things.
RuiZhi shut the door behind him carefully, two packages tucked beneath a lanky arm; one was small and retangular, the other flat and slender, both pressed against his side with his fingers curled around the bases to keep them from falling. He turned and nearly ran into a student that seemed to be very close to being glued to the door, catching himself before bumping into him. "Hello," he greeted Wynn, startled. "Sorry about that."
He'd finally found his glasses (score!), from which his warm brown eyes regarded the foreign looking student. He supposed that was a little unfair, since he himself and his...and Weiyuan were more unusual in appearance than everyone else, but the boy before him spoke of cold climates. Quite frankly, the teen looked like he might have rather run a mile in three feet of snow than stand in the room with the gathered.
Having not looked around yet, he smiled to Wynn, offering kindly, "Not all of them bite, but I'll advise you to the ones that do." The Chinese youth extended his free hand to Wynn, smiling widely, "RuiZhi Tai, Defensive Division. Welcome to ShinKami."

Wynn was surprised to find that another student was pushing his way through the door only moments after Wynn convinced himself to actually close it. He slunk a bit away from the student, to give him passage from where he remained glued to the door and watched the other with wide amber brown eyes. To his surprise, for Wynn honestly thought that an unfamiliar face wouldn't gain much attention, the new comer spoke with him. This prompted an unsure twist of his mouth and a shaky gloved hand to grasp the offered hand of this other person who introduced himself as RuiZhi Tai. He wore the gloves because of his disease on his hands, not because it was cold outside.
"I am called Wynn Darbinian," the Inuit replied softly, "New student. I want...Magic Division." He shook the other's hand gently, trying to pull an unsure smile onto his own dark cheeks as he cradled his warm mug of hot coco in the nook of his arm.

"What the hell is a Fabio?" Scyeth scowled, giving Micajah a fierce look. It wasn't fair, using adjectives he didn't understand. "Whatever, you still better sign up," he muttered, shaking his head as he caught wind of Mica's last comment. The blond snickered softly and looked over at Weiyuan, offering him a grin. "Excellent. Pick a team, mine or his," he explained, slightly sidetracked by the unfamiliar youth who had just entered. He didn't have much time to ponder over it, however, because-
"RUIZHI!" the blond cheered, bouncing on the balls of his feet. He waved the Chinese student over to the crowd he was gathering, unaware of any looks he might be garnering. "C'mere, c'mere. Bring your friend," he crowed, more than happy to meet the new student. He must be one of the boys that came when Cane did. Hm, maybe he'd like to play lacrosse too. That would be helpful; they still needed three other boys to join.
"RuiZhi," Scyeth crooned affectionately, visible eye fixed on the other student. Anyone with half-a-brain should have been able to guess the boys had paired themselves off, if they hadn't been told.

Cane was about to follow-up Scyeth's comment to Weiyuan, when the boy began to shout excitedly. Dark blue eyes followed Scyeth's, and he caught sight of the nerdy, but cute, chinese boy. Clearly someone the blonde felt... special about. Interesting. That explained a few things, and the corner of Cane's mouth briefly lifted in a crooked smile.
Turning his attention back to the science student before him, he nodded, pointing at the sign-up sheet back on the table. "You don't have to pick a team yet, just sign to say you're interested. I'm still teaching Scyeth." A pause, and the serious boy's gaze met Weiyuan's. "It's a demanding sport." He didn't say whether or not he thought the other boy was up to the challenge. The half-chinese brunette looked pretty fit. "I'm going to put together some information for the first practice."
The handsome native american's eyes shifted over to Micajah, even as his body mimicked the movement of his gaze, and he laughed. The sound was low, throaty, surprising, coming from such a droll teen. "Misery? You drown in your thoughts too often, Butterfly, I am quite content."

Wei froze a bit hearing Scyeth go crazy over his brother. He turned, just to watch for a bit. Gods he was stupidly smitten. At the very least he showed he cared. He sighed, running a hand through his hair going over to the dark-skinned blue-eyed piece of unattainable eye candy. (He was only unattainable because Wei didn't really want him. Honestly.)
Butterfly? Now....that was...interesting. This room was filled with couples or...at least pairs. He suddenly had that third-party feeling. He went over to Canaan, not really interested in watching the couple anymore. "I suppose I'll play. Of course, you'd have to teach me. Though...I think it would be best if I was on Scyeth's team. He'd purposely smack me otherwise...well I guess on the same team that would happen." He chuckled a bit, putting off his run for a bit later. Cold sea air was starting to become less and less appealing.

Cane's teeth were bright against his skin as he reached out to grip Weiyuan's forearm in comrade-like motion. "Excellent. Although, I do not worry about teams, as Scyeth does. I will defeat his, no matter whom joins mine." The two were fast becoming rivals, although there was a lack of malice in their competition. "Once he is skilled, we plan to teach you all."
Slightly short, albeit muscular, Cane's eyes flicked up to meet Weiyuan's, even as his short, sudden smile disappeared. Weiyuan, whom Scyeth had said was nothing more than a 'dragqueen' [Canaan still wasn't sure what that was], was turning out to be quite interesting. "Scyeth tells me he is a soldier-in-training. What are you? I am looking into the Guardian program."
Cane was working hard at being talkative. It seemed that Scyeth was helping with that, being the social creature he was.

His face paled quickly before turning bright red.
Whaaa?!
Wha...what had Cane called him? Butterfly? Was that...supposed to be a nickname? And did it come from that one time he was reading the book in the classroom? Was that enough information for him to garner Micajah's interest in them, or had he said anything about them? It was all a big blur, one that made his head hurt just as much as he chest, and Micajah blinked a few times and just stayed silent.
He had noticed RuiZhi and Wynn's arrival from the corner of his eye, though his ears were ringing and he wondered if it was because he hadn't eaten all day, he was feeling too stressed, or it was a combination of the pair. Slowly Micajah made his way over to were he thought he might have seen food being set, hoping that would cure what ails, and completely ignored Scyeth's question about Fabio. not that answering would have helped, since his spark-awesome friend was now obsessed with the arrival of his boyfriend.
There was a slight spread before him and he lifted a delicate finger to his lips as he thought about what he could try and eat first, though the heavy feeling in his stomach told him it probably wasn't hunger that he was going through. If he felt like this for much longer he'd hunt down the source of his discomfort and try to cut it off, never feeling it again.
This sucks. Shouldn't have come, should've just dropped the package and left.

Weiyuan nodded his head slowly. Not quite used to being so touchy feely to a newfound friend that he wasn't going to end up sleeping with. Well, at least he wasn't the unfriendly type. Wait...if he and Scyeth were friends already....The brunette paused. Had Scyeth talked about him he wondered? Wouldn't be surprising. "I wish to be a Doctor. As is my brother and Scyeth's boyfriend, RuiZhi."

RuiZhi inclined his head politely. He hoped he hadn't insulted the other by pinning him as a new student - the lack of badge and uniform gave him away - he was just used to attempting a semblence of politeness by now. "Good teachers," he complimented the Magic division, before he remembered the teachers he'd been so fond of were no longer a part of it. New students, new teachers...everything changed, he supposed, everything but himself.
He heard his name like a trumpet over the crowd, turning his brown eyes towards its owner. The Chinese teen couldn't help but smile at the blonde's antics, breathing deeply through his nose and exhaling in a bemused sigh. "Would you like to meet a few folk? I promise if they're too unruly, I'll get you out. I'm not a fan of parties, but I have a personal interest in the center of attention." RuiZhi wouldn't blame Wynn for turning him down, but he felt a little responsible since Scyeth had yelled to bring him along. Truthfully, he might bolt if Weiyuan hit on Wynn, but he'd deal with that as it came.
With a tilt of his head in the direction of the blue-eyed birthday boy, he started to make his way towards him, making note of a few unfamiliar faces. The way the new folk were lingering around the more familiar faces, he felt a little displaced, as though time had somehow passed him by without noticing. He walked around to stand next to the blonde, smiling up at the taller youth, untucking the presents from his arm and handing them over. RuiZhi wasn't sure exactly what type of impression the soldier-in-training was intending to make on his loyal subjects, so he decided to play fair and not get too close. He'd save that for later.
"Sheng Ri Kuai Le," he offered to his boyfriend, repeating in English, "Happy Birthday, Scyeth. Congratulations on surviving another year." His eyes twinkled with a hint of a subdued playful nature, made more obvious by his words, which were truly not unfounded. "Here's to many more."

Cane was definitely not used to the other students. He was a touchy-feely sort of guy, as most of the people on the Reservation were, and he didn't really understand everyone's hang-ups about physical contact. Ah, well. Sensing Weiyuan's slight discomfort, Canaan took a step back, his blue eyes amused, and nodded slowly. "It is wise have as many, if not more healers than destroyers." 2 doctors to 1 soldier, seemed the theme.
Excusing himself briefly, before even more introductions could be made, Cane's confident stride took him to the food table, where he helped himself to a plate of venison, potatoes, and some interesting looking bread. Glancing over a Micajah, he raised his brows and spoke with a lowered tone.
"What troubles you?"

Micajah turned to look up from the food as a voice greeted his ears, and at the sight of Cane he merely smiled and shook his head, an attempt to make it seem like he was simply lost in thought about what to eat and not just standing there aimlessly thinking about other things.
"I'm good, thanks. Just wondering what to eat first, haven't had much other than the usual they give so I'm in high debate."
He didn't say anything about being called Butterfly earlier, but he did manage to turn enough so that his head could take in all the faces that had come stumbling in over the past few minutes. So it was Ruizhi to be certain, and for a moment he didn't recognize the other child until he took a second to think back.
"Oh, Wynn's here too. It looks like this is a good chance for you to get out there and meet other students, Cane, since we seldom gather together like this. I don't think I have seen this many students together since the Halloween party, and there's not any fighting here yet. I'd not pass this up."
It was a mild excuse to maybe get Cane away from him, seeing as the pain in his chest grew stronger with the Native at his side, but it was also that Micajah wanted Cane to make friends and be happy here. He'd seem a little...lonely...the first time they had met.
