Mae gave a triumphant cheer as she raced over the line...before realizing that the other team had beaten her. Just at the last moment. Cursing softly under her breath, she quickly brought the Rampardos to a halt, clambering off of it and moving over towards the other team with a half-hearted smile. Well, she couldn't pretend she wasn't disappointed. But she had to be a good sport, so held out her hand for the other to shake, a small smile on her face.

"Congrats. Just beat me!" she giggled, petting the Arcanine as she did. It was a strong pokemon.

Llyri slid off the arcanine's back somewhat ungracefully. One foot hit the ground, but slipped and he landed flat on his back with a loud "Oof." The arcanine looked exasperately at him before returning her attention to the girl trainer. She gave her a sloppy lick, tail wagging happily.

"Thank you." Llyri replied, picking himself off the ground. "You did well. Your craindos is very fast."

Mae smiled. "She's a Rampardos, actually - the evolved form. I think her size helps more than any speed - you just beat us there!

She shook the boy's hand, her smile growing wider. It had been a good race, at any rate. She'd had fun!

"I hope you do well in the finals! Good luck!"
